Out of the blue, I got bad cystic acne in my 20's. It was a dark time in my life as this problem affected my confidence and self esteem. I am a physician that has been a patient of Dr. Said's for years. Although I most appreciate her care for serious skin disorders I also appreciate her efforts for me cosmetically. I am not the greatest at following through on her cosmetic recommendations mostly because my interest waxes and wanes but she remains patient with me and sensitive to what I want to do. I find Dr Said personable - gentle and kind. She used to have her office in Irvine, and when she was moving I recall she was worried, but I told her, you're a great dermatologist, and people will follow, just like I did. If she tries to sell you product, newsflash, it's because you need it! She is fast and efficient, gentle and knows what she is doing. So what her staff at the reception area aren't the best, you're there to see the doctor not the person pushing paper and handling phones. There is certainly worse out there, but getting worked up because they aren't coddling you is silliness - maybe just maybe when you walked in the door you weren't all that either and you got what you gave ... people never think about that. read more

I waited a long time my only visit there. I was instructed to put on the paper gown for my full body mole check. I would've preferred to meet her for the first time with some clothes on. Then, she brought out a pre-printed checklist, told me I needed some prescription, but didn't explain it well - especially the side effects. The receptionist who was supposed to help me afterwards was on the phone with computer tech support the whole time I was checking out, so I was unable to ask her any questions. I looked up the Carac that she told me I needed, and saw a bunch of photos and youtube videos of people with their faces red, scaly, and flaking off. Had she explained these effects to me, I would've told her I was working outdoors in the sun, and there was NO way I could do that treatment without getting a huge sunburn. I am not going back because I feel she just rushed me through, and didn't take time to get to know my problem or my needs. read more

Dr. Said is so caring and even takes the time to answer a question by text. She makes room to see you if you are especially concerned about something. She is an excellent diagnostician. She takes time to answer all you questions. She is a wonderful Doctor. read more

I've seen her a few times. She has helped me and given good advice. The only reason I don't give her 4 or 5 stars is her staff. Im a pretty easy going guy, but her staff is rude, condescending and they cut me off while talking like 5 times in one convo. If you can get past her staff, shes worth it. If you don't have patients for that, go somewhere else. read more

My experience was much like Angel G.'s; although, I am not a model. A few years back, I had a similarly large basal cell carcinoma at the inner part of the lower left eye near my nose. It is a very thin-skinned area and a tender area to say the least under normal circumstances. Dr. Said removed all of the basal cell carcinoma, and today, when I am not wearing makeup, no one would be able to detect a scar, except possibly a trained professional. She did a wonderful job! I will continue to see Dr. Said as my dermatologist. She is a very caring doctor and spends time with the patient to address their concerns. I highly recommend her services. read more

I love the professional and helpful staff in Dr. Said's office. Dr. Said is a professional, careful, compassionate, and highly skilled doctor and surgeon. During my annual visit she fully assesses my concerns and issues, looks for conditions I would not be able to recognize or identify, and then she proceeds to treat and resolve them in ways to minimize damage and maximize successful results and healing. She fully explains options before proceeding with treatment. She is kind and caring, and she carefully listens to her patients. She recommends excellent skin care products and discusses and explains sun screen product options which are required for people living in Southern California especially for people spending time at the beach or outdoors. I am shocked to read the reviews from some of the people on this site! I have gone to Dr. Said for more than 7 years and she has treated all of my skin cancer issues with kindness and efficiency. In fact, she returned early from her vacation to make sure I could have a procedure, as I was moving out of the country. All of my surgeries have healed beautifully and although she is matter-of-fact, i never feel as if she is rushing me to get out of her office (like I feel with my general practitioner). read more

Wonderful skin doctor. Was referred to her several years back by my physician. Now me and my wife both go there. She is very busy. Both of my kids who are now in college went there for their acne treatment. I was concerned about a growth which luckily was benign. read more

I waited over an hour for my first appointment with Dr. Said, then I saw her for about 5 minutes in which she prescribed me 4-5 different things, which were not clearly explained. She had a pre-printed sheet that she just circled different things. She told me to use the sunscreen they sell in the office and that the receptionist would explain the products. I took my prescriptions to the pharmacy where they filled all the prescriptions, (3) retin-A cremes, an antibiotic pill (?) and something else, plus the face wash I bought at her office. I tried to use the regime she prescribed but was so confused because she gave me so many prescriptions, ended up two of the prescriptions were the same thing, and I was trying to put all this crap on my face. My skin was burning alive !!! Mind you I have fair skin that's pretty good most of the time, I only went in for cystic acne that I get once a month on my chin. I didn't need 5 cremes and pills and whatever other crap she wanted me to buy. I called back to say that the cremes were burning my face and that I needed to see her again, next time she was as brief as the first time and not much more helpful. I would not recommend her, as I think she just prescribes the same exact thing for each person she sees. Find someone who will treat you as an individual and deal with your specific problem. read more

Unfortunately, my first experience with Dr. Said will definitely be my last!! I have the same opinion as all of the negative reviews posted. The office staff was less than pleasant to speak with and spoke to me as if I was incompetent. I did not have to wait long to see Dr. Said, but it was a very short office visit. I spoke with her all of 10 minutes. When explaining my allergy and skin condition she couldn't have seemed less interested. She recommended her favorite products and wrote a prescription within 5 minutes of speaking with me. She was extremely brash and completely insensitive. When I went to pick up my prescription from the pharmacy it was $600.00 out of pocket (after my insurance had already kicked in), I refused to pay it. As a result of this visit my entire family will be switching dermatologists and no longer visiting Dr. Said. I definitely recommend seeking another dermatologist!! read more

WARNING: STAY AWAY FROM THIS DOCTOR. Samireh Said is truly a despicable, heartless person who only cares about money. She could care less about treating her patients the right way and actually treating their problems. I had to see her on five different occasions for one problem that she made worse. After she did a $250 laser vein treatment on my legs (which made the veins that she treated triple in size within three weeks), I went back to her to see what she could do to help me. She insisted that her "treatment" did not make my veins worse, and that I would need to have a lot more sessions (at $250 a piece) to make them go away. So, I went back to her three different times within a couple of months just for her to look at what she had done to me, and each time she spent about 3-5 minutes with me, and I was still charged for an office visit each and every time. I just could not believe that I blew over $400 on a treatment and office visits afterwards, only to have my legs look 50 times worse than they did before. STAY AWAY FROM THIS DOCTOR!!! read more

Terrible!! Dr. Said is always in a rush and makes you feel as if you are interrupting her day even though you are paying for her services. She has even told me that she has other more serious skin conditions to take care of besides the one I came in there with. She doesn't explain adequately what she is prescribing, and I am always confused when I get home as to what I am supposed to do with them. She has prescribed medicines that contained elements I had told her I was allergic to, and she didn't apologize when I drove back to her office to exchange them 2 different times within the hour. Also, her staff seems to have been given their "training" on how to treat patients directly from her...very rude and confrontational. I always leave her office feeling worse than when I came in, and also, the problem that I come in with generally doesn't get any better for having gone in to see her. read more
