I love Dr. Supertooth and Staff! I've been going there for about 11 years for several dwarf teeth I have! He has been able to fix these teeth for years, making me look amazing! Can I do negative stars?! I googled this guy just to make sure it was real and not just a part of my 8yr old imagination or bad dream! I made an account on yelp specifically to say what a horrible experience I had as a child. After leaving his office I refused to see a dentist again until I broke a tooth at 16! My mother took me here to get two baby teeth pulled. The doctor numbed me and left me there for quite a while. When the man in the cape came back and was ready to pull my teeth the numbing medicine had worn off....I told him I could feel it and it hurt...he told me to shut up and stop being a baby! This scared me and I began to cry ...he still kept tugging on the teeth and I began to scream. He made my mom leave the room...then put his big man hands over my little girl mouth and nose...and in his growling man voice through his teeth used I appropriate language telling me I was scaring his other patients and I needed to shut the hell up! He just pulled my teeth out without giving a rats a** that my mouth was not numb! Worst experience of my life! read more

I've been a patient of Dr. Supertooth since I was a little girl (I'm 31 now) and to the person who said "A children's dentist in tights and a cape. Thats just weird", should probably get the facts straight before leaving a comment like that. He hasn't worn a cape since I was a kid (in the 80s!), the outfit is hanging in a plastic box in the waiting room, so try not to misinform people. I like the staff and the dentist very much, but I feel their prices are a bit high. Over $100 for a cleaning of children's teeth, is a bit absurd. From what I understand, that's pretty normal, but before going back, I might try to research other pediatric dentists. I would definitely recommend them to others, though. He's always been nice to both me and my kids! read more

A dear friend in the valley, a well-know local psychologist, was searching for a dentist close to her office for her grandson. She "Google'd" the site of the dentist she had heard about to get their office phone number off of their website (who uses a phone book anymore?). However, according to Google Search - their website was LISTED AS AN UNSAFE SITE - infected with Malware. She called me, a personal friend who is also a web developer, thinking that I'd know how to find the phone number(s) of a website owner with my experience. She asked me if I had any way to find out a work-around to secure their phone number. I said sure. I replicated her Google search and saw the same warning she had seen and explained to her that many Wordpress and similar sites are hacked and I recognized the problem. She suggested I call them and tell them about the Malware issues, since I knew what it looked like, and she also asked me to give them her 818 office call back number so she could schedule an appointment. I stopped everything to research a contact number and then called "The Supertooth Doctor'." I got either a receptionist or an answering service and asked to talk to the doctor or his assistant. I was connected to the office manager. I started to explain to her that a prospective new patient cannot find the office phone number because Google is blocking their website and to give them the number to call my friend and schedule an appointment.. She said "We have a web guy - goodbye" and hung up on me! My father told me a well-know human test to be on the lookout for years ago: "Pay attention to how people treat waiters, valets, and service people when no one is watching them," he coached me, "and that will tell you a lot about their character and whether you should waste your precious time with them." My take?: - Stay away from these unfriendly people! I suppose if they don't want to hear their website is BLOCKED by Google, maybe they could care less that a complete stranger wasted an hour of his life trying to get two messages to them... BOTH messages sincere and friendly. read more

I've been taking my daughter here since she was 7 (& also my mom started seeing him a few years ago). The Dr. and his team are warm, caring and good at what they do. It is really cool to watch the Dr. change how he interacts with each patient based in their age. There is an open room where patients and their parents can all stay together and watch movies or look at magazines while getting work done. My daughter actually LOVES going to the dentist. What kid do you know that regularity asks when her next cleaning is!? To the other reviewer than wrote her horror story review from her childhood, it sounds like a exaggerated child's nightmare. Unfortunately, we've had to file a complaint with the California Dental Board. As former patients of Dr. Howard's, we've been requesting legible copies of our children's dental records for weeks. The scans we were sent are so illegible that two other dentists and an orthodontist have also reviewed them and found them to be illegible. Dr. Howard has referred the matter to his attorney. His attorney's position is that we are not entitled to legible records and that what we've been sent is all they are legally required to do. He offers in office general sedation! wit the help of a anesthesiologist, your babe can be fully out while he works his magic. He is kind, patient and great his with kids. he ROCKS!!!!! They are incredibly meticulous with their cleanings and when I referred a friend, she was amazed by how well they did their job. It says a lot that I have gone to Dr. Howard for my twice a year checkups for 31 years now and (so far!) am one of the only people I know of with zero cavities. I have been going to Dr. Howard's office for over 25 years. When i was a child, he would dress in a cape and tights and it was a very pleasant childhood experience. He is the best dentist i have ever been too! The office staff and dental hygienists are very nice and remember me every time. Dr. Howard has filled small cavities without the use of novocaine and i never felt any pain. I recommend this dental office to children and adults, i never had the typical "fear of the dentist" because all of my experiences here were wonderful. read more

I just recently went to Dr. Howard a couple of days ago for my daughter. I have been going to him for the last five to six years. But just the other day I had to take my daughter to get a tooth pulled. The day before my daughters appointment, my daughter kept me up all night because she was scared. I kept trying to reassure her that there is nothing to be scared of, I got tons of teeth pulled. I can tell you enough good things about Dr. Howard and his staff. Dr Stephen Howard aka Dr Supertooth is wonderful. 23 years ago my son got his 1st teeth cleaning there and when it was time for him to get braces he took excellent care of him. He would call and check on my sons progress after he pulled a tooth or adjusted his braces, he always talked to my son whenever he made those calls. I started going myself many years later. Made sense to me if my child was so comfortable I would be too and I was and I still am. Only dentist I have ever gone to that does a cancer screening after your teeth get cleaned. I would give them zero if I could. My two older children went to him. Oldest needed an expander appliance. When it came time for it to out I asked if she will be getting a retainer to keep things from shifting. Was told no, she doesn't need it. Well that was $2000 out the door. Her mouth has shifted, her teeth have shifted. Each kid has had a filling fall out on them...seriously!!?? I still have mine from 25 years ago!! He's a quack, wife is a money hungry office manager...their only saving grace are the techs. Avoid him at all cost...there are far better dentist out there! read more

Went here as a kid. Dr. Supertooth literally told me "you won't get a date if you don't get braces" and "you're pretty but your smile is a minus to your entire face". For a pediatric dentist, this guy made my daughter cry and caused her to be afraid of going to the dentist for a very long time. I will never forgive him for the way he treated her. She was nervous, it was her first filling ever, and she started to cry (she was only around 5 or 6). Dr. Howard (aka Supertooth which is just plain ridiculous) got so angry! He told her she was acting like a baby and he didn't want a baby in his office. He was impatient and rude and told me not to bring her in again unless I gave her something to sedate her (which he was willing to prescribe!). Did it ever occur to this guy that it was HIM? I don't care if the patient is 6 or 16 or 60 -- you don't talk to them like that EVER! It was nuts. I got her out of there and never returned. Luckily there's no shortage of dentists in the area and after gathering some names we found an excellent pediatric dentist for my daughter and then for my younger kids. Dr. Howard is not professional and can be very scary for little kids (and parents) when he gets angry. I got the impression he thinks he can intimidate the parents if he stands there in his cowboy boots looming over them like the town sheriff or something. Lesson: If it feels wrong for your child--it IS WRONG. Like I said, no shortage of dentists in the valley. Find someone else!! read more
