Rather than showing empathy trying to understand why we were seeking another opinion, he questioned our decision and offered little meaningful guidance. The entire experience left us feeling dismissed, frustrated, and unsupported at a time when compassionate care was most needed.

The woman who answered the phone seemed perplexed by the mention of Groupon and left me on hold for about five minutes. Finally a man picked up the call and stated that he was the owner of this business. In order to begin this program I would have to go elsewhere and pay for an ekg and blood test before I could even make an appointment. Of course that would be more $$$$$ out of my pocket. Because there was no way that I would be able to jump through these hoops, the business owner advised me to contact Groupon and he would allow a full refund. So I contacted Groupon. The only way to contact Groupon is by "chatting" with a bot somewhere in Asia. I was informed that my request would have to be sent to an investigation unit and that I would be contacted within 24 hours. That was over a week ago and the Groupon is now expired. I contacted Groupon again today and was told exactly what was stated last time verbatim, that the request would be escalated and I would hear back in 24 hours. That translates into the merchant won't refund your money so kiss $90 goodbye. Btw I called around to other weight loss clinics in the area. None of them required an ekg and blood work, if needed was included in the cost of the program and would be done in house. In other words, if you spend $90 for this three week weight loss program you will also need to spend $hundreds for blood analysis and an ekg. Oh. And the fine print of the Groupon explicitly states that a refund would be given to candidates who do not qualify. SO WHERE IS MY REFUND?

They exceeded my expectations. I ended up walking normally without pain and walking as much as I wanted and I could have walked even more than I did. Their work did not stop with walking. I casually mentioned to them that I did not have full range of motion in my shoulders because of adhesive capsulitis. Other PT groups, I told them, had said they had done all they could. When I mentioned this to Dr. Huang, with whom I was working at the time, she said she could do more. After sessions with her, she gave me a long pole to lift up and back, something I found impossible for years. This time I lifted my arms straight up and, as I lay on the bed, I held the pole all the way and flat on the bed above my head. I now stand straight, taller, and with more flexibility than ever. I have been fortunate to work with both Dr. Lin and Dr. Huang. They are kind and caring individuals and their office staff is a delight to work with. Dr. Lin's and Dr. Huang's methods are challenging. After my sessions with them that consisted of forty-five minutes of hell, however, I walked out of their office feeling as if I were 17 years old. Before my first session I intended to just give it a try one time to see how it went. I felt unbelievably better and did not stop coming back. Some people are surprised by their therapy session costs. I am surprised and gratified by their therapy session results. To walk as I walk now, to stand as I stand now, and - one other thing: I have been a type 1 diabetic for more than fifty years and my insulin needs after working with Dr. Lin and Dr. Huang have significantly decreased. I had to bring my son and they offered him snack and drinks and let him sit in his own area to play video games as he could not come back with me to get my shot. JOSH -offered me water and snacks and explained the surgery in detail and reassured me of how easy and virtually painless procedure that it was and how quick it would be. He made me feel good, confident and cared for. He was very attentive kind and had a great sense of humor. He was like this with the ladies next to me as well, other patients. Thank you Josh! BRI- was very much the same as Josh. Very sweet, attentive informative and we made small talk about nursing school and about how she just finished and can't wait to take the Nclex. It has been almost a year.. and only now am I starting to really get the pain back but still not to the intensity as before. His attitude was essentially: "You're in pain? That's too bad!" That's not medical care--that's arrogance. And shocking for a Dr that manages pain to just ignore everything you say, ignore mri results showing the severity of my injury, inability to function normally because of the pain.. to just kick you to the curb. This doctor would rather let a patient suffer than spend even a few minutes doing his job. If you're expecting compassion, problem-solving, or even basic professionalism, save your money and go somewhere else. You will not be heard here.
