This pain management doctor is a scam and if you truly suffer from pain and are on a certain regiment that you are happy with and works then don't come here and speak with Dr Duong.. regardless of how much irrefutable documentation and proof of having a vast amount of surgeries and have tried every type of remedy possible he will still manage to mess your life and well being up for absolutely no reason. It seems his self renound experience a doctor has made him a very cocky person and also judgmental. When patients rely on doctors to make their life easier and they end up making it way harder that is why it is so hard to find a good understanding doctor which took me years and unfortunately I am unable to see her anymore due to insurance requirements. I have had 35 orthopedic surgeries in my life and also a right eye enucleation last December. I have brutal orthopedic pain almost in every section of my body. I've spent a total of 22 months in the hospital over different and difficult hospital stints for certain injuries. Well my last bad wreck was July 9th 2020.. I was riding my motorcycle and taken off the road by a person on their phone and in the canyons in the mountains to make it worse. I slid into the guardrail at 70mph and that's when I ended up shattering my left femur , breaking all of the ribs on my left side , cracking my chest plate four inches down starting at the sternum , broken left shin and shattered right foot. Severe road rash on both arms , severe spinal decompression and damage to my L1, L2, L3, L4, L5 and T1, T2 and T3 which still have inoperable hernias on multiple disks in my back. My first accident was in 2007 when I was also taken out crossing an intersection on my bike and someone ran the light and took me out .. that accident resulted in 55 fractures in both hands shattering my hands and breaking my right leg. I've suffered through so much that's the last thing I want anymore. I am tired of being in pain. Tried all the muscle nerve machines , muscle manipulation, cortisone injections and nerve blocks. Even though pain medication wasn't what I desired living with it was the most positive pain relief I've had and to finally get a regiment that worked for me the last year then why switch me off ? Simply because I'm a little different than most people you meet don't downplay my pain and my injuries I've endured. It's very disappointing because I paid $250 out of pocket only to get screwed by the doctor and the feeling I had inside me literally was thinking of being in pain again and the suffering that was going to be coming up. It's a travesty when you try to live your life and just want to be happy and that changes when someone whose arrogance matches his attitude enters under false pretenses. Once Dr Duong walked into the exam room I can tell by his facial expression and eyes that he was judging me based off my looks. He asked me where I hurt at and I tried explaining all of my surgeries and areas of constant pain and not even after a minute of talking he cut me off started shaking his and says I don't feel comfortable writing you this prescription and denied me my medication that is the same medication I've been using for over a year that took me about two years of different remedies and amounts to find the perfect solution to my problem. But I guess to him he could care less if he affects your life with his decisions and whatever he think is right. Try listening to your patients ... I had a new job I was supposed to go to but due to the change in my medication I am barely able to get out of bed. My whole world feels like it's been flipped upside down. Not only that , due to the amount that he cut from my regiment I had severe withdrawals the first two days and ended up in the ER due to him. When he could've came up with a regiment and actually try as a doctor he didn't and he ended up screwing me over and affecting my daily life and also lost that job due to being at hospital in severe pain and in the hospital. Anyone that genuinely needs help , stay away I promise you it'll do you better. This doctor is a disgrace to doctors that want to "help people" read more

This clinic is a godsend. I have had trouble finding a pain center who can see me when I need to be seen without having to wait weeks or even months sometimes. I have a pretty significant herniated disc in my spine and every so often it flares up to the point of not being able to walk. There has been times when it flares up and I've tried looking for a pain center to help and they didn't have appointment for weeks out, until I found Irvine pain management. From my first initial visit they have always been able to get me in to be seen either the same day or next day. Other than being available to their patients, their staff and doctor have been incredibly kind and empathetic to me, which is very important when someone in pain comes to you for help when they are in pain. Thank you to their wonderful staff and doctor, I am glad that their is a clinic like this in our community! read more

I was so encouraged when I first saw Dr. Nguyen; he was attentive and I felt like he listened to me. What turned that around is when I asked if he could sign my renewal for a temporary handicap placard, I was told it would cost me $100 for his signature. If this is not illegal, it should be. At the very least, it is beyond unethical!!! What next? Charging us to write a prescription? What is happening with medical care these day? Is it all about the almighty dollar and not the patient in pain. Very very sad! I am moving my treatment elsewhere! read more

So I've had back pain for almost two years and i finally decide to go to check it out because it was getting more bothersome. I found this place so went to check it out and oh man no regrets! They got to the bottom of the problem. They did and epidural procedure on me and they gave me some advice on how to treat my body better so it doesn't get worst and took in that advice. Went to a couple check ups but my back has definitely gotten way better and the pain is gone. I highly recommend it here. And to top it off didn't feel like just another patient like other hospitals. They really make you feel that they care. I don't know about y'all but thats a big bonus to me :) read more

Been having on going back pain for years, do to sports. Most doctors would recommend meds and send me on my way. The meds really didn't address the problem just masked it. One day a friend recommended this place, so I was desperate and checked it out. Fortunately it was everything and more that he hyped it up to be. The dr and staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable, but the best part is that now DR Nguyen is managing my pain and now I'm more mobile and active thanks to them. read more

She came here when she had the same issue as me and said they did an amazing job so I decided to try it out and let's just say I'm very happy with the results. I waited weeks, in severe pain, for an appointment here. When I arrived, I was told that I could not see the doctor because I didn't have a previous doctor's records. I was not referred by any previous doctor, so I fail to understand why I needed records. My insurance does not require me to get a referral. I asked the receptionist why she didn't tell me when I made my appointment that they only see patients who have been referred. She said "Oh we don't need a referral." So I asked why then, were they refusing to see me. She said "It's office policy." I asked "WHAT is office policy?" She then responded "We can see you on Thursday after you get your other doctor's records." Really????? What if there was no previouis doctor? I should have paid attention to my intuition when, at the time I made my appointment, she refused to tell me how much their consultation fee is. To that question, she responded "I can't tell you because it depends on whether you have insurance or not. There are two different fees." I replied, "I have insurance, so how much is that fee?" Her reply? "I can't tell you that, because it depends on what your insurance pays." I said "I am not asking what my share will be. I am asking what is the amount of the consultation fee." Again she said, "I can't tell you that." Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this place! read more

I found this pain management office through my insurance . I made my appointment with Crystal and she was super helpful and kind. Let me just say Dr Nguyen is amazing. He has been monitoring my lower back pain for couple months now I've noticed a difference. I've gotten an epidural with him and he is so gentle. His office staff is great. Dr. Nguyen and his office staff are fantastic! I have bad chronic back pain for 3 years and tried so many different treatments including medications, physical therapy at several places, multiple chiropractors, massages, acupuncture and finally back surgery. I went to Dr. Nguyen and he suggested a pelvic MRI to check for a uterine fibroid. He was right on!
