I have been going there since it opened in the 90s. Today, I had to throw away the Chef Spec Gen Tso's Chicken.

I strongly recommend avoiding this place. I don't know how they have been there so long. The food there is terrible and is an insult to genuine Chinese cuisine. Nothing wrong with a little take out joint, but this place is awful. read more

I heard somewhere that this place had changed hands. Since the change, I heard mixed reviews, which often happens when things get shaken up. I will admit to liking the previous staff, since they were very friendly and attentive. I rolled in to check them out and noticed the inside hadn't changed at all. I did note that the usual condiments weren't as accessable as I remembered. In fact, I found some service missing in that area. I got some quick and easy staples, which I think are the fastest and easiest way to get a quick overview. I ordered beef lo mein, shrimp and a chicken fried rice and wonton soup. My son picked the lo mein and I went for the soup. The beef lo mein was proclaimed to be just average and I had the same reaction of the soup. When you check out a wonton soup, there are several considerations; the taste and texture of the wrapper, the filling and the broth. None of these blew me away. I will admit that the previous experience of the food was better than average. Being a take out only place, there isn't much in the way of actual service, but the previous incarnation would go out of their way to give you a better than average experience. There would be fortune cookies and chopsticks and a few sauces included in the bag. Here, there were none of these additions. We got what we ordered and nothing more. I was offered cookies from a tray on the counter. I asked if there were some included in my bag and was assured that they were included. They were not. No sauces, even soy sauce and no chopsticks. The place seemed to be a little downgraded from what I had remembered. There were boxes and cardboard on a table out in the open, and nothing appeared to be very clean. It appeared a bit disorganized, but the food came out pretty quickly and there were no major issues. To be perfectly honest, it seems a step or 2 down from what it once was. I would point it out if something stood out, but it was a little of everything. I'll probably give it another chance somewhere down the line, but the food and service this time doesn't have me running back for a 2nd look. They could and should do better. read more

Just not very good. They must be really struggling. Went in there on a cold day and it was freezing in there. The best thing was the soup. Spent 80 dollars and wont be back, they are very nice and friendly dont get me wrong , but the food quality is below average. read more

food was absolutely disgusting!! first- a roach in my order! then they forgot one of my orders which i already paid for, 3rd the dumplings and chicken.. sooo rubbery and disgusting . i called them back and explained to a lady- she said "ok come back". i go back, with the messed up order and she wanted to charge me again! when i made my point, she said "ohhhh" then calls the cook out, who was a male. he didnt speak english and YELLED AT ME LOUD and said "go! go!" when i opened the food with the roach in it and they yelled at me louder in their language. I never was so disrespected and humiliated by strangers. I cant believe they robbed me with way and didnt show remorse. These are some messed up people. Disgraceful and thieves. 8/6/24 read more

Always quick and great This is ideal place for take out only. ! I love their shrimp Lo mein and crab wontons. The small size for any meal will get you 2 meals easily. The Veggie egg rolls are crunchy and yummy. The sweet and sour shrimp is heavy battered-not my fav but people in my family love it. . The family owners of this business are very kind and friendly. Fried rice didn't have any eggs and was very plain. I'll try something else on the menu that might change my mind from the 3 star!

I have been eating at the Dragon since they first opened. In fact I was their 3rd customer on opening day many many moons ago. The food is always good and made the same way each time. I've tried just about every item on the menu, yet mostly stick with sweet & sour chicken when I visit. I recommend a visit the next time you happen to be passing by. read more

Very good Chinese food. Quick take out. Inexpensive and they give huge portions. I suggest ordering the small sizes unless you're planning on feeding an army. I ordered the large Chicken LoMein and will be eating it for probably the next 4 days. read more

I don't know how I've never been to this place before! Better than your normal go to Chinese place. The general Tso's had a really great flavor and the right amount of spice. Cheese wontons were on point. Fried rice was seasoned really well. Only reason this place isn't getting five stars is because the egg rolls were mehhhh. read more

If you need a cloth tablecloth to get a 5 star rating then it's only a 4. It's a typical looking Chinese takeout (no tables) but it is my go to place. Most importantly, everything I have tried has been delicious, filled to the top, not very expensive, and the service is pretty friendly. Remember it's a small place so if you go on a Friday night at dinner time during CoVid, give them an extra 10 minutes. My basic plan of attack is to do my grocery shopping next door at Giant Eagle, call in my order when I get to the frozen food section, and by the time I get out it is ready. The egg foo yung is delicious, but my favorite is Lake Tung Ting Shrimp with a shrimp egg roll. It's like Moo Goo Gai Pan but with HUGE shrimp. It's easily enough for 2 meals, 3 if I toss in a few more shrimp. read more

Usually I'm pretty particular when I order Chinese food so I wasn't expecting much from a restaurant that has pictures of food on their walls. It was late and I was hungry for hot and sour soup. Man was I wrong. I was extremely happy with their version of hot & sour soup. Nice and tangy with a good bite. I recommend it for great take out. read more

Ordinarily nice service and decent food. Today however, we ordered only soup and egg rolls. We weren't given a time on the phone. After getting there 15 minutes later, they still weren't ready. After waiting ten more minutes In the tiny lobby (where it's impossible to distance appropriately amidst the viral outbreak) I waited 10 more minutes, then left without food. If they'd bother to say on the phone it would be that long, I'd have either delayed my arrival or not ordered. Irresponsible to your customers. Won't be back any time soon. read more

The best Chinese food I have ever had. Ever since moving to Pittsburgh, we have been exploring and trying out different Chinese restaurants since we both love Chinese and Japanese cuisine. We had stumbled upon this place one day after he had gotten off from work and has continued our business with them ever since. We have gone there so often, that the nice lady who takes orders at the front desk recognizes us and even knows our order, considering we pretty much order the same thing each time with a few add on's. We eat there about four times a month. I recommend the Lemon Chicken to anyone who wants to try something new. You receive two crispy thin chicken breasts on a bed of lettuce and broccoli. Severed with lemon sauce, great for tea by the way, and white rice. My boyfriend always gets Kung Pao Chicken. read more

Very fast and friendly service. This is definately a no-frills place and there is nowhere to sit down and eat in the restaurant, BUT it is a great place for take-out! The woman/cashier I deal with every time I go up there always seem to know instinctively what my order is and she is always very nice and accommodating. I eat here a few times a month. They have friendly speedy service. I don't think this place has a microwave or heat lampswhich, as a customer, makes me very happy. I always end up getting General Tso Chicken. Prices are great and the food is decent. If i have to nit pick, i wish they were a bit more generous with their rice, i end up having more chicken than rice, if you call that a problem. read more
