Mine are their fried wings and their pork lo mein which you can get in up to 32oz., which is enough for at least three meals. Their egg rolls are equally tasty. My wife gets the Szechan Beef. It is just as good. Everything is cooked to order so it is best to call ahead if your order is to go. They deliver as well. Drinks are in the cooler and range from different pops to teas. The space is quite small, but there are a few tables should you want to dine in. For desert, try the newly added donuts. They are amazing. read more

I decided to give this location a try and I wish I would've Yelped it before stopping. I got the General Tso and I got some steamed dumplings and a order of french fries. My goodness what a mistake. The general tso sauce tastes terrible, I don't know how its made but it was like a thick Jello. I don't know how to explain it, but its NOT General Tso!! The fries were very hard, I don't know if they were old, I couldn't eat it. Money loss here. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. Also service could have been better, waited like 15 minutes for complete disappointment!! The establishment provided exceptional customer service, assisting me with my order. The portions of food were generous, and the flavors of each dish were exceptionally delicious. I ordered Hot & Sour Soup, Hunan Chicken, Curry Chicken, Beef with Peppers and Onions, and Shrimp with Broccoli. Despite its small size, the restaurant offers some of the best Chinese cuisine I have experienced in a considerable amount of time. The bright lighting makes it easily noticeable. Usually, Chinese take-out gives me a belly ache. Maybe the high sodium or preservatives, but it never seems to agree with me. I still order it once in awhile, and I am happy I ordered from No. 1. While I worked at my part time job in Monroeville. I would stop here for a fast dinner. Always ordered the chicken with broccoli. Never adventured out til I tried the General Tso. I don't know if they didn't cook it long enough but it was terrible. Pieces were barely lukewarm, and the sauce was like a gelatin. But I'll stay with the chicken with Broccoli. read more

I have been a loyal customer of No 1 for over a decade and I understand the rise in inflation lately but not only did their prices jump far more than other restaurants, the portion was smaller and the food less tasty. And they don't even give you any fortune cookies, you have to buy them! It pains me to say I will never go back to No 1 again. read more

The internet and their storefront claim the restaurant opens at 11am...I tried calling at 11am; no answer. I arrive at 11:20am and they proprietors are pulling in to open-no apology for being late. I place my lunch order (BTW the lunch are now $6.50 each-unlike the $6.25 pictured on the menu here on Yelp- just an FYI for you fellow Yelpers.) I'm told that they need 30 minutes as they just opened...sigh... When I got the food home I was less than impressed with the quality... between the service, price and quality I just can't say it's worth it to me. read more

The food here used to be incredibly phenomenal back over 10 years ago when it was run by a husband and wife team. Ever since they moved and sold it, the quality of the food has waaaaaay down hill. On the rare occasion that I do order, I get a young kid with attitude taking my order, and everything tastes like generic bland mall food sauce that is entirely too salty. For instance, one major selling point for me was that this place made their own dumplings. The other month when I ordered them, they were clearly the frozen type that you can get in any freezer section. I swear all dishes are cooked in the same three sauce categories, and delivery time can sometimes be outrageous. This place is just not good. If you're looking for fast delivery of good Chinese food in Penn Hills or Verona, this is it. They give you large portions, packaging is nice, and the price is unbeatable. My family ordered Sweet & Sour Pork, General Tso's Chicken, short ribs, pork fried rice, and some sort of sesame beef. After ordering over $50 worth of food, but forgetting one of items they accused us of lying when we called and told them about it. The delivery was pretty fast and the guy was polite. I Have been to this restaurant on 3 count them 3 different occasions; the first time the food was tolerable. Times 2&3 yuck. The hot and sour soup had an over abundance of oil in it it was disgusting. The chicken and broccoli was so so. The beef and vegetables was to salty. Cashier very rude answers phone while taking in store order and will service phone customers before she completes your order. Just plain rude!!! I should have gone to the Japanese place across the road. I had to grab a quick to go lunch here and nothing was good except the wontons. My egg rolls were soggy and the General Tso's was unrecognizable. I threw it our and got LJS 5 minutes down the road. I placed an order for delivery and when I got it, I noticed that there was food missing. I called about the missing food and was immediately interrupted by the lady that took the order claiming that I got my own order wrong and she didn't charge me for it. Meanwhile, there was no receipt for what I paid for. The food was disgusting today. I have been ordering food from this restaurant for over 10 years and I have never encountered rude people or tasteless food until now. I will not be ordering from there again. Will not even give it a 1 star rating. Two LONG hairs were found in the pork fried rice and the fried wings were bloody . I called to let them know of the incident . The owner had the nerve to ask for the food back because it was hard for them to believe I was telling the truth !! I told them I couldnt believe their request, we were customers for years and they lost one . If you still want to order from them , I would say to thoroughly check your food ! Eat with caution ! I stopped ordering from this place about a year ago because the food and customer service has really gone down hill. However yesterday my boyfriend not knowing this was bad food ordered from no. 1 and the most bizarre thing happened. Him and his friends pulled out the food and just started eating and the phone rang, it was no. 1 Chinese saying the delivery driver had given them not only the food they ordered but another order and they wanted them to repack up the food and the driver would be back to pick it up. My boyfriend explained to them that they had already opened and were eating already eating some of it. The place said just to repack it up. REALLY how disgusting they were going to now take open and half eaten food over to someone that lived in Alcoma on the Green. We will be making a report to the health department. read more
