Very cool and unique...I went here with my fiance for date night. First, there was a really neat, quick & dirty distillery tour. I felt smart after, so it's worth it. Then, we sat at the bar area, which is pretty cozy, and did a tasting. Our faves were the mint, the lemon moonshine and my fiance loves the beer. My wife and I were looking for somewhere we could go for a small getaway for the 4th of July weekend and we came across Dragon Distillery. Sounded fun and they exceeded our expectations! Tania greeted us when we arrived for our 5:30 reservation for the tour and Mark, the founder took us thru the distillery and it was very informative. This was not my 1st tour of a distillery but I was very impressed with the innovative ways he is using to create these whiskeys, gins, Vodkas and moonshine. Tania walked us thru the tastings and we truly loved their products especially the Strawberry Cheesecake Moonshine! I would never had thought I'd like a 3 year old bourbon but it had the vanilla, oak and smoke taste I look for in bourbons & whiskeys. One thing that made this good for me, a bourbon fan, and my wife, a vodka drinker, is the variety of options and not being so one dimensional. She loved the Lemon Drop Moonshine cocktail. Afterwards we went for a light appetizer before going out to dinner and you could tell they take their food seriously, everything was great! Haleigh, our server was friendly, very attentive, made great suggestions, was a lot of fun and never overwhelming. Then, we went to the axe throwing room. Phil and Hirad gave us a demonstration and tips before throwing. Some of the other staff came over and made us feel like a member of their family. We had this best time throwing axes and the next time we are in this area again, we will definitely return! What a great way to spend a day or evening and wish we would have had a group of friends. The tour was very informative, incredible to see all the ways they recycle the materials. The tasting that went with the tour was phenomenal as they help pair what your looking for with the samples to make sure you find something you like. The drinks from the bar side were really good and they even have a chance roll for a shot to add a little excitement to your visit. So having a winning name like "Dragon Distillery" is sure to bring in a crowd; it sure brought me in! I've been to, let's just say, "a few" distilleries and I have to say that I've never been as impressed with such quality, flavor, and complexity as I was with the Dragon label. My party of two had a winning Groupon deal that set the hook and we ended up tasting six of the eight spirits produced. The end product is nothing short of magical...we ended up taking home three different bottles and are sure to return when those are gone. Mark and his wife (the owners) are doing it right as they stay local with all of their ingredients and give back to the local community as well. When we first walked in, I was sure I was going to not like it here. The tasting area was packed and it was crazy loud. The acoustics (very high ceilings) make everything louder than it really is, and it just seemed too overwhelming. They typically have two people behind the bar but only had one, which made the wait for a tour and tasting a little lengthy, but nothing too bad. We browsed the merchandise and waited. No biggie. We didn't really want to go on a tour (when you've seen one distillery, you've seen them all, right?) but we are glad we did. The owner is fantastic and such an interesting guy. I love hearing how people come in to starting such a unique business, and his story is a great one. (I won't ruin it for you- it's really fascinating.) After the tour we got a seat in the tasting area and shared samples from their 8 offerings. (each tasting is for 4, but they let you share so you can try all of them- so great!) We really liked all of them, but the lemon moonshine is sooooo good. We bought the Longbow Lemon. Their branding might not be hipster-ish, the dragon stuff might be a bit kitschy, but you can't argue with the product. 100xs distilled vodka is delicious. The care and thoughtfulness put into these spirits is immense and you can literally taste the difference. We will for sure be back. Of note if you are a family with young ones- it is dog friendly (but dogs can't go in the distillery area/tour for safety reasons) but not really kid-friendly. So glad we waited and I didn't leave after my first impression. This place is a gem! read more

A unique, out-of-the-way cocktail bar that could set it sights higher. I only tried the rye whiskey, but it was good. They also have a gin, a bourbon, and several flavored vodkas (which I haven't tried). Surprisingly, there are no spirits flights - and the cocktail menu is full of cloyingly sweet stuff. The food menu is pub grub such as quesadillas and tater tots. The vibe is very tabletop-gamer - there's a shelf full of board games, an axe-throwing stall, and touches of medievalesque decor. I'll probably be back, but I hope they stop hiding their spirits behind a bunch of sugar. And offer a whiskey flight and a clear-spirits flight. And...reconsider the snack-bar approach to the food menu? It's a distillery. The menu - food and drink alike - should put the spirits in the foreground. And right now, it just doesn't. I know it sounds like I hated this place - but I definitely didn't; I'm giving it four stars. I just see a lot of unrealized potential in the menu. Always looking for new distilleries to check out. Doing a google maps search and came across Dragon Distillery. The name had me hooked without looking at what they offered beyond tastings. I was pleasantly surprised that they offer a full food menu at reasonable prices. The food was delicious and the staff....where to begin. We were greeted with a friendly smile, our waiter was friendly and helpful, offering to help is decide what to try from their drink menu. Doesn't help much when everything looked delicious. I had the Pineapple Upside Down Shooter and Dragonfly. Both went down too easy. Now let's move onto the tasting...We did the general tasting which allowed us 4 choices of whatever they have to offer, which ranges from whiskey to moonshine. One of the Owner's Tania brought out our tastings and went over every single one in detail. Telling us about their distilling process and what is added to give each one their taste/flavor. This is one of few places that does that at a tasting. Final experience was the axe throwing...Friendly, helpful, and fun. I sucked, but had a great time. I would definitely visit again and am recommending it to my friends who are up for a road trip. Dragon Distillery won't disappoint. read more

TL;dr: Smooth liquor, fun, educational & memorable. We visited Dragon Distillery because of the great deal on Groupon and ended up finding a genuine diamond in the rough. At first it was a little difficult to find the location but once we found it, it became very distinctive with the emblem of the Dragon. We walked in and at first the size of the distillery was underwhelming; however the small stature of the front soon gave way to a very personal, enjoyable and all around fun experience. The knowledge of the owner in his craft (and yes, it his craft, not job, not career but craft or artform) was spectacular & he kept it fun & educational while explaining the history of his family & the drinks he distills. He made it personalized & easy to ask questions & explain details in layman's terms. Come time to actually taste the liquor, I can honestly say I'm not a liquor drinker, however his drinks were smooth & while I cringed on most of the tastings due to the nature of drinking straight liquor, I could taste the individual flavors of many of his drinks. He had a mint vodka that I thoroughly enjoyed & a lemon meringue moonshine that tasted both creamy & citrus after the burn. My husband enjoyed it so much that he bought a bottle & has had a drink each night since we left, sometimes by itself, other times in fun concoctions. The owner was down to earth enough to understand that while I was coughing on some drinks, that it wasn't his drinks that caused the issue but my untrained palate. He even laughed with me & my husband. All in all it was a a great time & so much fun, I look forward to returning for our next bottle! read more

So much fun! We went to Dragon Distillery for the first time this past weekend. The distillery hosted an AMAZING Valentine's Day event complete with ax throwing, delicious drinks (try the Dark Knight and the Hot Buttered Rum!), an appetizer and a really cool alcohol infusion experience (can't wait to see how they turn out!). The staff was super friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. I also want to give extra points for being extremely Covid compliant. I absolutely love this place. We came about a year and a half ago and they were solid. They've continued to grow since then and offer an awesome whiskey club. They don't add sugar to their product so I've never had a hang over from their drinks. They're opening a medi-evil/game focused "restaurant" in July. It'll be light on food but sounds like it should have solid mixed drinks. They also use local products and give their waste (used barley, tunes from fruit, etc) to local ships and farms for use as well. It's a family run place with everyone working their really knowledgeable and friendly. I'd recommend this place to anyone who enjoys a good drink. They offer tours that explain the entire process too. It's a good time (about 15 minutes) and explains everything that happens. If you show up, you won't be disappointed. read more

The people were really nice! I'm not big into spirits but my mom loved what she tasted on our tour. She signed up for the club and ended up taking home a bottle and some of their canned cocktails - actually enjoyed the canned cocktails, especially the mule. Love me some ginger beer.
