Here is my review of the GENERAL TSO's CHICKEN WITH WHITE RICE: ... The chicken was not crispy. There was a lot of sauce, which was very sweet. It was not spicy by any means, and tasted more like sweet and sour chicken. ... The white rice was oily and sticky, and seemed to have a yellow tint to it. My fiancé spent close to $60.00 on food from this horrible place we ordered from them a couple of times before and the food was good......I don't understand what happened if they got a new cook or what.....the food had absolutely no taste or any kind of seasonings, so disappointing......I called back and spoke to someone there and they said new cook started about 3 months ago.....I told him he just lost a good customer..... This is a pretty popular place for a small take out restaurant. This is a family owned restaurant with both Chinese and Hispanic roots. They make the Mexican and Chinese food! I come here at least once a week. The owners are extremely kind and welcoming. One of my most favorite food is the chicken and guacamole combo platter which consist of grilled chicken, guacamole, yellow rice, lettuce, tomato pieces, black beans, and it comes with a free soda! Very large portion. The food is very fresh and yummy. Definitely not pre-made because once you order it they start to cook it and cut things up. Sometimes, I also order the chicken quesadilla or the grilled chicken with mixed veggies over rice. I love this mini restaurant to grab quick and yummy Chinese/Mexican food. I have been ordering from this place for the past couple of years and i can say that their quality has not changed but only gotten better and better.My favorite dish to order is spicy buffalo wings with white rice because it is always this perfect blend of spicy and sweet that will have you craving for more. I would never think that HERE in Bensonhurst i'd find the best Chinese food i've ever eaten. The service is excellent and the gentleman behind the counter is very polite and pleasant. You get A LOT of food for a very decent, low price. The meal came with an "egg roll,soup or soda" and after I picked the egg roll, the gentleman reminded me a few minutes later that it has pork! So he went out of his way to guess that maybe I can't eat that and instead offered me a shrimp or vegetable roll! For one thing, most Chinese food places wouldn't even tell you that you get something extra with the meal - let alone make suggestions to help you out. Best take out around me. They're fast! I ordered food and they came in fifteen minutes. They also have a mexican food menu which is alright also. Their Shrimp tacos are awesome. I'm a big fan of guacamole but I wouldn't order it from here because it's watery and lack of flavor to it. As for their chinese food, I personally enjoy it very much. I usually order their french fries with cheese - they use two types of cheese on top of it which makes it yummy. Another favorite of mine is their garlic sauce. Anything I order..is with garlic sauce. They also have awesome chicken wings there! I usually order the chicken wings with cheese fries combo. Food is cheap and satisfying! I've called the restaurant and the guy who answered the phone told me the restaurant was very busy at that point. That was not a good excuse, go hire more people! I know that if I order more than $13 I get a free can of soda, but I asked to switch to a bottle of water instead. This place charged me $1 extra for the water without prior notice and I didn't get the soda either! Really good Chinese Tex-mex. We just ordered hard shell chili tacos. I was impressed by the freshness of the filling and my shells were still crispy! We also got two quesadillas, and nachos. This is our families go to place for Chinese food in the entire Bensonhurst and Bay Ridge area for take out or delivery (not dine-in). Steven and his family who own and operate this business started out about 10 to 15 years ago and have consistent quality affordable common Brooklyn Chinese food with an extra star for quality and consistency. (also they have amazing tacos) .I consider myself a part-time food expert on the local scene and beyond but please try to understand when it comes to Chinese food in a predominantly crowded congested Chinese area the food quality differs and can even suffer with some of the neighborhood places not getting a proper or good rating from the Department of Health. Dragon Garden has consistently had an A rating throughout there history and I have become personal friends with the owner. Call once and they'll remember your phone number and address if you call consistently from the same phone number. Some of our favorites are the sesame chicken dinner special which always comes on a bed of rice but you have to ask for pork fried rice and they charge a little extra. My personal favorite dish having lived in Chinatown for short period of my life is Young Chow fried rice which is more or less a Cantonese dish and Dragon Garden can match the exact flavors and variety of vegetables and meats that you would find in Chinatown New York City. As of 2018 I feel the quality of food got even better and I just tried some of the Boneless roast pork tips and they were point on and as they say in Brooklyn banging. read more

I always order from this place at least one a week for the past 6 years. I never had an issue with my food. It Always tastes very good. When quarantine started I was completely upset because I was not having my weekly food appointment. I ordered the dinner special C25 Sliced Beef Szechuan style. Came with about 2/3 the tin container filled with fried rice, and a measly egg roll, which wasn't that good. The beef was nice and spicy had some broccoli and other vegetables with it, and was suprisingly good. This is a really cheap place to get take out from, delivery on orders that are only 6 bucks, and is definitely and place to eat when you've run out of options. read more

Had a terrible day and came here to order the fattiest nastiest chicken burrito money can buy. I stuffed my face like a child ramming a triangle peg in a circle hole. I barely removed the aluminum foil that was wrapped with and upon finishing it left a pathetic hard-to-eat-with-a-fork disgusting mash of rice and beans with its oh so delicious mystery mix of hot sauce, sour cream and oil. It was satisfying beyond belief for 4 minutes before I came to my senses of what I did. There are a million Chinese Fast Food Restaurants in this city & my neighborhood, so it's hard for them to stand out. I've lived here 12 years & ordered food from most of these places. Dragon Garden stands out. VERY friendly staff. Fast delivery. The food is fresh & delicious. I am a huge fan of Hot & Spicy Soup & I love theirs. Most other places serve bland glutenous soup. I'd like to give this 3.5 stars. I've sampled several Chinese take outs in the area, and this is the tastiest and most reliable of the mainstream Chinese food options. If you want "hardcore" Chinese food, I'd go elsewhere, and there are many of those in the neighborhood. Their ho fun (chow fun) is very good, as is their wonton soup, and dumplings. In fact, I've always been happy with everything I've ordered from them. The sweet and sour pork was really good too. I'm talking in the genre of mainstream Chinese take out. This place is nasty. I don't know what I was thinking coming here for Mexican food. First of all, we were charged $23 for some nachos, 3 tacos and a small shrimp in garlic sauce. The tacos were tasteless. They had lettuce and diced tomatoes inside. The chicken tasted like it was taken out of a Chinese chicken dish, but then again it is a Chinese restaurant. The guacamole taco was even worse. It had absolutely no taste. There was no spice, onions or cilantro in any of the tacos. The nachos had dried up beans on top. Overall, I know that this is a Chinese place but come on, you can try a little bit harder or just offer less food and focus on the quality. I really don't recommend this place to anyone. read more

They have good customer service 10/10 but food isn't that good they are a typical Chinese resteraurnt appealing to non asain people and prices are a bit pricey but they have been on the same lock for a decade. I grew up near the place and only order once a month or once every two months. Expensive but good customer service also if you think this food is good it's really not. I absolutely love this place! I lived not too far away so I order delivery on the reg. The people are so nice and i order often enough for them to know who i am. I saw a worker (or owner or delivery man i don't know what his position is at the restaurant) on the train station and he said hi and made small talk with me. He actually saw me first and said hi so enthusiastically that i turnes my head. The food is absolutely phenomenal! I usually order the typical things out of a fast food restaurant cheese fries, fried chicken wings, and nuggets. The fried chicken wings are what you would normally expect. The nuggets are actually really good and very tender. The cheese fries are awesome my sister gets them every time. My sister also gets this shrimp with mushroom and broccoli with garlic sauce with fried rice and its amazing!!! I recently started getting the boneless spare ribs with pork fried rice and i think thats my new favorite dish. If you enjoy good food and friendly people this has got to be the place to go. read more
