Not much has changed, which is a VERY good thing. + Dim sum is as good as it gets here. You can't go wrong with any of their rice rolls, pork and shrimp dumplings, shrimp dumplings, chive dumplings, sticky rice in lotus leaf, chicken feet, spring rolls, etc. It's ALL good!!!! + The BBQ meats are also as good as they ever have been as well - roast pork, roast pig and roast duck are all super fresh if you get here early enough to buy them. Just ask for the fattier meats and you're golden. + STILL the best pan fried noodles you will get ANYWHERE. Always super fresh, piping hot, crunchiest noodles ever, plenty of supporting ingredients. Go for the shredded chicken pan fried noodle, you won't regret it. THE NOT SO GOOD ---------------------------- - Prices have definitely gone up a bit over the years, but it's common everywhere. They are pretty much on par with other Chinese restaurants in the area. This spot has been a family staple since I can remember. We spent many weekends coming for dim sum and many weeknights coming for dinner. Both dinner dishes and dim sum offerings are solid. Unfortunately, they no longer have dim sum carts up until recently. It has now moved to a paper ordering style, where you mark the amount of dishes you want. I really want to give them a higher rating as the prices were great and some of the dishes like the fried salt and pepper baby squid and anchovies and the stir fry pork blood and leeks were really inventive but the seasoning for everything was off. The fish maw soup was bland and everyone at the table asked for salt. I guess they Dave's it for all the other dishes as everything else was way too salty. So much that we went through 8 pots of tea to cleanse our pallets. The jumbo fried shrimp with walnuts has shrimp that was large at best with pale broccoli and barley roasted candied walnuts. Came here on New Year's Eve. Everything was okay--nothing really stood out as amazing. And like many Chinese restaurants, calling roast duck with baos "Peking duck" doesn't magically make it so. They're not the same thing. Peking duck should have crispy skin and more rendered fat. Also, it shouldn't have the bones, except for the legs. And while it's not a must, Peking duck is much better served with pancakes over baos. The siu mai and dumplings were good, and I do like their Cantonese wonton soup. Service was okay, though a bit distant--took our order without much interaction, no smiles. We ordered more than we should have, but they boxed and bagged the leftovers at the table, which is a good practice. As for the ham sui gok, they supposedly ran out, so that was a bit of a letdown. Mostly due to the "peking" duck situation, i would not come back. read more

Food: The food here is average -- not terrible but not amazing. My family and I have been coming to this restaurant for many, many years, and the food quality has really gone downhill, especially after the pandemic. We recently dined here for a large family gathering and ordered 11 dishes each for our two tables. Most of the dishes were good but some were disappointing such as the pan fried flounder, lamb chops, and salt, pepper, and salt and pepper pork chops. The pan fried flounder was very small and slightly over fried. The pork chops were dry and overcooked as well. I wouldn't recommend getting these three dishes. Service: The service here is overall good. Some servers were very helpful and attentive while others weren't. They came by to clear empty dishes to make room for the new dishes being served. If there was a little bit of food left on the dish, they abruptly poured it onto someone's plate without asking if the person wanted it. They also offered to change our plates throughout the meal which is always nice. We had brought a birthday cake and some desserts for our group after the meal. We were the only ones left in the restaurant because it was later, close to closing. There also wasn't much business in the restaurant for the evening so we were one of only a handful of tables. Most of the servers were very patient while we were wrapping up our dessert, but a couple of them did seem like they were rushing us out by clearing the table while we were still standing around. Considering we were the bulk of their business for the evening, I would have expected that they were more appreciative of our business rather than making us feel like we should leave. Ambiance: This is a large restaurant with many tables and it's good for both small and large parties. Seating is comfortable and spacious. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant if you are in the area, but if you're willing to drive about 15-20 minutes away, there are better Cantonese restaurants in Bensonhurst. read more

A weekend my friend and I went to Wing Hing Restaurant for dim sum. We used to go there at the weekend. According to the rules, customers had to get a table ticket number and then wait on line for a seat. Two lady guests arrived after us, but they didn't queue and sat down at a medium-sized table. Then, one of the staff told them to get up because the table was for five. At that time, the staff told us to sit at another table because we already had a ticket number and that there was a seat available, so we always followed the rules. The two lady guests who arrived later complained to the owner, saying that my friend and I were seated first since they arrived first. The owner then walked over to my friend and my table and, in a loud and rude tone, told us that we had to follow the restaurant's rules. Of course, I was furious because we had no idea what was going on and were just waiting to be seated. I had no choice but to raise my voice and tell the owner that we have done nothing wrong and wanted to understand why we were being treated so unreasonably and unjustly. This made us even angrier, because the whole thing wasn't our fault at all. I find out that the two lady guests were the friend of the owner who complained unseasonably. My friend and I felt it was extremely unfair and completely unacceptable to the owner. My friend and myself has been a customer for several years, but the quality has gone downhill badly. The food is no longer tasty or consistent -- many dishes now taste bland and poorly prepared. Prices have increased twice a year, but the quality keeps dropping. It feels unreasonable to pay so much for food that used to be much better. Customer service has also become a serious issue. Some staffs are often rude and inattentive, showing little care or respect toward customers. Even worse, one of the owner behaves unprofessionally, speaking loudly and unreasonable and disrespectfully to guests in front of others. This kind of attitude is unacceptable in hospitality. It's disappointing to see a place that once had potential lose its sense of quality and respect for customers. It feels like the management only cares about profit, not about maintaining standards or customer satisfaction. The customer service is unacceptably bad.Some staffs are often rude and dismissive, showing no sense of professionalism. The owner, in particular, is very unprofessional and impolite, speaking loudly and disrespectfully to customers in public. It's embarrassing and unpleasant to witness. After several disappointing visits, I've decided not to come back. This place no longer deserves the reputation it once had. I've been here a few times with my parents for dine-in dim sum pre-Covid era. This time, we called ahead for a pick up order on a Sunday for 12 pm. We ordered a beef/bitter melon rice, fried fish and tofu rice, chicken and salted fish fried rice, and a bunch of dim sum, which included the usual suspects. I appreciate the fact that they let you order dim sum ahead too. This way, you're not fighting at the counter with the Chinese grandmas, trying to get your order in. Everything was correct and packaged neatly. But the actual food just isn't as good anymore. The rice dishes were fine. The fried rice was packed to the brim, but it would have been nice if there was more salted fish in it, if there was any at all. It was also pretty bland. Dim sum is bland as well. The worst of the bunch was probably the honeycomb tripe. It was bland but just didn't taste great. Dim sum spots in this hood are slim pickins'. I'd come back for rice or noodle dishes but for dim sum, I would probably rather buy the frozen ones from the bakery down a few blocks and just cooking it myself. read more

For Sheepshead Bay, this is great without traveling too far to get Cantonese style food and dimsum. I came here this past Monday - not too busy, was asked about vax cards. Inside you'll see the tables separated by plastic to social distance people. We were greeted by a waitstaff who asked us what type of tea we would like. Since it was relatively early, we ordered some simple dimsum and a plate of beef chow ho fun. The dimsum was tasty - black bean sauce chicken feet), coriander rice rolls, ChiuChow style pork & peanut dumplings (one of my mom's favs). Out of the three, that black bean really enhanced the chicken feet! For the plate of beef chow ho fun, I was not in love with it but it was a HUGE plate. It probably needed that black bean sauce for the extra kick in flavor. I requested hot sauce on the side to spice it up to my liking. Ate half and flavored it up for dinner. I came back here again for a Sunday lunch because of a friend's invite. Arrived around 10:30 am and the place was less than 1/2 full. Mostly old men sitting,chatting and drinking coffee; not much eating going on. Ordered the usual dim sum dishes by checking off the menu. I actually forgot about the food at this place but after my first bite, all my memories came back. The dim sum dishes arrived fast but they were either bland or tasteless. Tripe was under cooked and very chewy. Fresh fish congee was luke warm and the fish was still raw; had to send it back. They only thing that was okay was the steamed ribs over rice noodles. (Looks like they also have some Szechuan dishes too) I'm not very familiar with this neighborhood (we typically get our food in Sunset Park or Chinatown) but we were in the area on Friday so decided to pick up grandma's birthday dinner here. I've done both before, and when ordering entrees, always have leftovers to take home. At home, on the other hand, two dishes are completely demolished in one sitting hehe. Higher price aside, definitely prefer here versus Season Restaurant one block away Roast meats (duck, soy sauce chicken, white chicken) are really good! The quality does vary - some days, the duck is super fatty while others it's leaner. But their ginger scallion sauce is crack and they don't charge me for extra cups woohoo Country Style Fish Fillet: one of my favorites here, and it's almost always a must order (for takeout). The fish fillets are sooo flavorful, and it's stir fried with minced pork and string beans, in this salty, peppery, garlicky sauce that's just too comforting and delicious for words. Fish is always soft and never over-cooked. Crispy Garlic Chicken: SO salty! But SO crispy! I don't normally order chicken dishes in restaurants because I love my classic soy sauce chicken, but this skin was pretty phenomenal. Much tastier than roast duck skin hehe. Breast meat was too dry though Salt and Pepper Pork Chops: soo crispy, quite salty, but just a step too deep fried because I was cringing at the grease in my mouth after about two pork chops. Juicy, but not as juicy as Jin Cun's, though the crispiness is better here, and the cut is a little fattier as well Black Pepper Short Ribs: I like this dish to be a lot more softer so it's easier to chew, but the flavors here more than made up for that, and it's super saucy We come here for dine in dim sum and take out dim sum very often and my favorite is definitely the shui mai. Pre-covid, I used to come here for dine-in dim sum and occasionally, we would come order food for dinner or eat here for dinner. This is the largest restaurant in the area so it can accommodate a more people in their dining room for sit in compared to the other restaurants in the are. I think their food can be a hit or miss sometimes, dimsum and dishes alike, but overall it is pretty standard dimsum food so really not much complaint. Since covid, my family have noticed a pretty steep price increase in the restaurant we frequented more so anytime we wanted take out, we'd order from here instead. Most of the time our food is pre-ordered over the phone for pickup so there's not much of a wait. Most of the food we order is what we know it to be but there are times where food can be on the salty side or on the bland side, I guess it depends on the chef that day. Overall, for their price, quality and quantity of the food, I think its a pretty solid 4 star. Not sure if they are open for indoor dining but their set up for pickup was great, there was a lot of standing space for people to either wait inside for their food or outside, should they wish. Went with my family on January 15th and we were EXTREMELY disappointed and dissatisfied. Let me preface that we have eaten at this establishment several times before and it has always been pretty decent/tasty, which is why we keep it in our rotation. On this evening, the restaurant was catering to a large wedding party while simultaneously serving customers in the first dining room, as well as prepare large take out orders. We ordered 9 different dishes, and all were subpar, lacking freshness, flavor and the warmth of a freshly, hot prepared dish. Vegetables and shrimp were not fresh; nor did they have any problem serving it to paying customers. Lobster was served cold when it was supposed to be a hot dish. Peking Porkchops are supposed to be crispy and sauced - these chops were soggy, luke warm and without any bit of crispness to be found. When we mentioned it to the female waitress, she looked dumbfounded, but stated that the kitchen was VERY BUSY due to the wedding party. We asked to speak to the manager but she said he was too busy to come out to speak to us. We spoke to another waiter (tall, lanky older male) who was shocked that we did not want to pack up the abundant left overs on the table. We shared our dismay and he basically blamed us for not speaking up sooner, despite the fact that we did but the female waitress did nothing about it. Needless to say, hospitality and keeping customers is not a priority here. Take your business elsewhere unless you want to pay to be disappointed and hungry. read more

Great Chinese food! Not the fast food Chinese food that you get from a typical fast food take out joint, but canto food that you eat sit down family style. Absolutely love their Peking Porkchop and Beef Chow Fun. It's our go-to items to order when we are feeling too lazy to make dinner. We would make our own veggie and white rice to pair with it and it will feed a family of 4. Their dimsum is really good too, definitely recommend to try that as well! Only complaint is the recent rise in price. I get it, inflation but those 2 orders used to cost $24 and it's almost $40 more for the same items. Had lunch here today. Drove all the way to Brooklyn from Edison, NJ. An hour and a half travel by car with traffic. CASH ONLY! No credit card accepted! On an ordinary day like today, Tuesday, the place is packed with locals. We ordered dimsum and shrimp pan fried noodles. The ha-gao (shrimp wrapped in soft thin rice wrap) is soft and tasty when you dip it to their hot oil mixed w/soy sauce I mixed. The shrimp on their pan fried noodles are colossal and tasty! Fresh sautéed veggies mixed with the noodles and were cooked right. We also ordered Tai-pao, steamed white bun with ground pork and boiled quail eggs. The white dough is fine and soft. The pork and the egg inside the bun is delicious. The baked Roast Pork Bun is doped. Well baked and tasty. If you plan to have a quiet dine-in, this is not the right place for you. The place is very noisy, their TV is in mute, only subtitles in English shown for a Chinese show. You need to park your car on the street and pay the parking meter. The place is clean and they have separate bathroom for Men and Women. Servers speak little English, except for a few. Overall, this Chinese Seafood Restaurant is 4 star for their Dimsum, Tai-pao, Pork Roast Bun and their exotic and tasty Chinese Cuisine. I've been going to this restaurant for decades. It is my number one favorite restaurant. It's a great Cantonese style restaurant, with a warm family atmosphere and the best waiters in the business. In the morning it's a wonderful dim sum restaurant, in the classic style, bustling, noisy, lots of warm gatherings and good conversation. The dim sum are unerringly perfect, hot, and fresh. And the prices are low. It's a great restaurant for dinner as well. I have enjoyed so many fabulous dishes here it's hard to remember them. Among the great things we've had are steamed seabass, steamed flounder, barbecued spare ribs, crispy fried noodle dishes, winter melon soup, chicken with cashew nuts, stuffed bean curd, choy sum with oyster sauce, Chinese broccoli, steamed carp, and many many other wonderful foods.
