While waiting for our tires to be installed at Sam's Club, we decided to take a walk to a nearby shopping center and try out a place that had good reviews. Since I'm supposed to follow a low-sodium diet, it was challenging to find something suitable. The experience was similar to walking into a Panda Express--the food is pre-prepared, and you choose what you want. Honestly, nothing really stood out to me. I didn't eat much because of the high sodium content, and the taste wasn't impressive, except for the jalapeño chicken, which had great flavor. I don't think we'd come back here, especially with so many other outstanding options in the area. No soap in women's restroom, they said it's broken. 8/22/24

Absolutely yes, I would recommend this spot! It's clean, spacious, offers a variety of entrees, excellent prices (I mean wow), clean and stocked restroom, good service, good portions, nice area of Pdale with many other shops and eateries, but best of all-- the food was fantastic, which wasn't expected for this type of fast food establishment. I came here with my kids and their dad and we were all very impressed and happy we chose to eat here for dinner. There was a rude elderly couple who came in and were upset that their food would be served in to-go containers instead of real plates. Then they were mad at the person helping them because they didn't understand how to order. "Well, ):0 what combo am I getting?!?!" "Sir, that's up to you." It was like their first time in a fast food Chinese restaurant and they were mad at everyone else but themselves for not knowing how to simply chill and ask questions without being completely rude. LOL. I love/hate seeing crazy stuff like this.

I like the concept of this place, large plates and warm food. I was really wanting to try the coconut shrimp and ordered it....made me sick, something in the sauce or the shrimp, don't know but I know it was that because I saved the leftovers and it made it sick again when I reheated it. The service was quick. I would probably skip the shrimp and play it safe with the chicken. The rice was good both white and fried.

    Kung Pao Chicken

Just went in to get a bowl during my lunch time. I selected fried rice and kung pao chicken. When I got back to my job to eat lunch and took a bite of that chicken I realized that the chicken is bad, they served me rancid chicken. I tried to take another bite thinking maybe it was just one piece. Nope, you can instantly taste the foul taste and I had to spit it out immediately. The taste was so awful. I started taking out all the chicken out of the rice hoping it didn't get to the rice. So then I tried the rice and it was good. I payed 12 with a fountain drink and all I got to eat is partial rice. Horrible experience! I won't be going back, at least to this location.

Service and food is good. I ordered shrimp fried rice and it was enough for at least four people. Plenty of shrimp. I would go back!

Walking in, they had plenty of booths and tables that can accommodate both small and large groups. You order before you sit down, and they also have a self-serve water station. We tried the Egg Rolls (3 pieces) and Dumplings (5 pieces) for appetizers, and for our main meals we ordered the Beef Stew Soup and the Glass Noodle Chicken Soup. The egg rolls and dumplings were crispy and flavorful, and the sweet and sour dipping sauce paired well with both. I actually thought I had ordered the beef pho, so I was surprised when the beef stew came out but that was completely my mistake. It ended up being a pleasant surprise because it was hearty, full of flavor, and reminded me a lot of sopa de res. The Glass Noodle Chicken Soup was much lighter, with a clean, comforting broth that made for a great contrast to the rich beef stew. Both soups were generously portioned. The customer service was friendly, and the food came out fairly quickly. Overall, I had a great experience and look forward to coming back to try more items from their menu.

The restaurant was clearly overcrowded, and instead of handling the situation professionally, the owner became rude and disrespectful. The owner repeatedly complained that they were overwhelmed and couldn't handle additional guests. Rather than providing good customer service or communicating respectfully, he turned customers away and made us feel unwelcome. Eventually, we were asked to leave despite there being available seating when we arrived. I understand that restaurants can get busy, but there is no excuse for poor customer service or rude behavior toward paying customers. If a business cannot manage being at full capacity, it should have a better system in place rather than taking frustration out on guests. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I would not recommend this restaurant.

With that said, I was sadly disappointed with Shandra Thai. Starting with the Thai iced tea: it wasn't the worst I've had, but definitely not the best. It tasted like it was brewed from tea (which is a plus), but it had way too much milk added, which diluted the flavor. It was also overly sweet. On the bright side, the portion is huge for $8, so it's definitely shareable. My boyfriend ordered the shrimp pad thai, which is a pretty standard dish. It was decent and came with a good amount of shrimp, but the flavor leaned way too sweet for my liking. I ordered the wor wonton soup, and this is where things really went downhill. The broth honestly reminded me of those seasoning packets that come with instant ramen--very salty and lacking depth. It was so salty that I could only manage a couple of spoonfuls before I started to feel sick. I'm also fairly certain the shrimp in the soup was frozen (see photo). It's disappointing to pay $18 for a dish that ends up going to waste. Unfortunately, based on this experience, we won't be coming back.

That was many years ago and we had not eaten there in years. Not sure about the negative reviews, but my wife and I decided to eat there. The service was excellent, and the Mu Shu was off the hook! I've been coming to Great Wall since before I was even a teenager. They've been around for decades, and I'm genuinely glad they survived the pandemic. It's also nice to still see some of the older staff around. They've always been very kind if not amazing. Back in the day, the restaurant used to serve chips and dip with jasmine tea at no charge, but those days are understandably gone. My husband and I usually like to order the egg flower soup, orange chicken, fried rice, and beef and broccoli dishes. The portions are still generous, and the prices are still great, which I appreciate. But sometimes the food itself comes out bland, or the soup tastes like it has been sitting around for a bit. We've never gotten sick from the food just to be clear, but the quality and flavor are not always as consistent as they used to be. We still love coming here because this restaurant has such a special place in our hearts, but it is sad to see how much it has changed. Even the interior feels outdated now, and the color and atmosphere seem like they've lost some of their old spark. Overall, Great Wall is still meaningful to me, and I'll probably continue coming back from time to time, but I do wish the food quality and atmosphere felt more like they used to.
