It's okay, nothing special. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ordered take out and interior and exterior are very outdated.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] $20 for Large Pho and tasted a bit watery and a little bit of an off taste.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is a bit outdated on the interior.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service here is ok, not really attentive to their customers since there's usually only one person working. I ordered the pho tai and it had good flavor but the side vegetables had an odd smell to them as if they might've been old, the lime peels were brown.

First time here but certainly not last. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant has plenty of seating options but just because it's nearly empty, does not mean they are not busy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] In the time that I was there waiting for my order, the restaurant took about 3 calls for orders to go. They are busy, busy. Nonetheless, I placed my order once I arrived and got it within 15min. This is one the best Pho soups I've had. It's in the middle of a not so busy shopping center but I'm glad I decided to give it a chance. Will be coming back.

It's been a while since we last visited this little Vietnamese joint in Palmdale, and this afternoon (8/05/2024) we were held up at appts and missed lunch. We had more errands to run and were feeing a little peckish, so since we weren't too far away decided to go in and have a "snack" to tide us over until dinner. We were greeted by a guy who was a little shy.. he doesn't speak much English and I speak even less Vietnamese, but he was kind and got the owner to come out. We were welcomed again, seated and given menus to peruse. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is cute, there's a golden Buddha in the entrance and the tables are well spaced. The decor is simple and for a small, family run Vietnamese restaurant, it was immaculate![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Word to the other Yelper who tried to blame a cockroach in her take out meal trying to extort a free meal from him. I understand she told him "comp my meal or I'll call the health dept". OK, so the free meal would make the cockroach issue OK for you? I think someone was trying to get something for nothing and may need to look in her own car or home before casting dispersions, but I digress. We decided to get an order of Chá Gió (friend egg rolls) and an order of Spring Rolls. The house made Nuoc Cham dipping sauce absolutely stands up to our favorite place down in the SFV. Well seasoned, freshly minced garlic and just enough chili for flavor, but doesn't bring the pain. The egg rolls were delicious, the pork filling is well seasoned. They don't serve with the basil and other herbs used to, but he said that it goes to waste there because locals don't seem to eat it. Not a game changer. We still enjoyed it! The Spring Rolls were pretty, well presented and the peanut dipping sauce is good, too. If I had to choose between them, I'm leaning towards the Fried Egg Rolls, though. We can't wait to go back for a full meal and try their many Pho dishes, or their Bun Vermicelli bowls. I see comments that the owner is a grouch.. but just engage him. Chat him up! He's really quite friendly and we had the nicest conversation with him. The business has been struggling, and the recent closure for several weeks due to structural issues while waiting for the landlord to fix electrical systems just poured salt into the wound. They need some foot traffic! If you need some yummy Vietnamese food to put into your face, this is a marriage waiting to happen! Please, go visit them and make friends. Enjoy some good food and hopefully we can keep this place here in the AV! The next closest place for me is all the way in the SFV and I want an option that's close to home.

The server was so kind and welcoming. The pho was great! [[HIGHLIGHT]]It is quiet here and a nice atmosphere overall.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Very quaint.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

#16 vermicelli plate; bottom of container had live (now dead) roach

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Hygiene is what did this restaurant in for me.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered the vermicelli plate with pork and egg rolls, spring rolls with pork and an iced Thai tea. I decided to transfer everything into an another bowl at home, when I found a live roach in the fresh vegetables. Without knowing if the roach touched anything else while I took my food home - I decided to toss everything as a precaution.

Quick service and very nice. Happy to see that they have lots of vegan options. Enjoyed the Pho Chay

Walking in, they had plenty of booths and tables that can accommodate both small and large groups. You order before you sit down, and they also have a self-serve water station. We tried the Egg Rolls (3 pieces) and Dumplings (5 pieces) for appetizers, and for our main meals we ordered the Beef Stew Soup and the Glass Noodle Chicken Soup. The egg rolls and dumplings were crispy and flavorful, and the sweet and sour dipping sauce paired well with both. I actually thought I had ordered the beef pho, so I was surprised when the beef stew came out but that was completely my mistake. It ended up being a pleasant surprise because it was hearty, full of flavor, and reminded me a lot of sopa de res. The Glass Noodle Chicken Soup was much lighter, with a clean, comforting broth that made for a great contrast to the rich beef stew. Both soups were generously portioned. The customer service was friendly, and the food came out fairly quickly. Overall, I had a great experience and look forward to coming back to try more items from their menu.

The restaurant was clearly overcrowded, and instead of handling the situation professionally, the owner became rude and disrespectful. The owner repeatedly complained that they were overwhelmed and couldn't handle additional guests. Rather than providing good customer service or communicating respectfully, he turned customers away and made us feel unwelcome. Eventually, we were asked to leave despite there being available seating when we arrived. I understand that restaurants can get busy, but there is no excuse for poor customer service or rude behavior toward paying customers. If a business cannot manage being at full capacity, it should have a better system in place rather than taking frustration out on guests. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I would not recommend this restaurant.

I went with the Cajun shrimp, ultimate salmon, and hot night. The rolls themselves were flavorful and honestly hit the spot. Nothing mind-blowing, but definitely satisfying if you're craving sushi. The one thing that stood out (not in a good way) was the imitation crab. It tasted like it had been previously frozen... kind of cold, a little dry, and not that soft, fresh texture you'd hope for. Price-wise, it ended up being a little over $30 with tip, which breaks down to about $10 per roll (6 pieces each). That felt a bit on the higher side for the quality, but I will say I couldn't even finish everything because it was pretty filling. For one person, it's a decent amount of food, but I think this deal would be even better if you split it with someone so you can try a few things without overordering. Atmosphere was chill, nothing special but comfortable. Service was actually a highlight. My waitress was really attentive and kept checking in, which I appreciated. Overall, good experience, just don't come in expecting top-tier sushi quality.

My husband got the pork katsu and I tried the shabu shabu. Both dishes were flavorful and definitely satisfied our Japanese food craving. Unfortunately, the service experience did not match the food. When we first arrived, one of the servers gave us a heads up that they were busy and service might be slower than usual. We completely understood and appreciated the warning. However, after waiting about 20 minutes, we realized our order still had not been taken and it seemed like we were accidentally forgotten. We understand things can get overwhelming during a rush, so we tried to be patient. What stood out more was the overall lack of attentiveness and welcoming atmosphere from the service side. Some of the interactions felt cold, and one of the servers in particular seemed visibly annoyed and like she did not want to be there. As customers, a simple friendly check-in or update goes a long way, especially when the wait times are longer than usual. It took about an hour for us to receive our food. We also noticed other customers looking frustrated, and saw guests walk in, stand near the entrance for several minutes without being greeted or acknowledged, and eventually leave. Overall, the food itself was good and we can see the potential here, but the customer service really needs improvement. Long waits can happen, especially during busy hours, but feeling ignored or unwelcome makes the experience less enjoyable. With better communication and more attentive service, this place could be so much better.

With that said, I was sadly disappointed with Shandra Thai. Starting with the Thai iced tea: it wasn't the worst I've had, but definitely not the best. It tasted like it was brewed from tea (which is a plus), but it had way too much milk added, which diluted the flavor. It was also overly sweet. On the bright side, the portion is huge for $8, so it's definitely shareable. My boyfriend ordered the shrimp pad thai, which is a pretty standard dish. It was decent and came with a good amount of shrimp, but the flavor leaned way too sweet for my liking. I ordered the wor wonton soup, and this is where things really went downhill. The broth honestly reminded me of those seasoning packets that come with instant ramen--very salty and lacking depth. It was so salty that I could only manage a couple of spoonfuls before I started to feel sick. I'm also fairly certain the shrimp in the soup was frozen (see photo). It's disappointing to pay $18 for a dish that ends up going to waste. Unfortunately, based on this experience, we won't be coming back.
