I ordered the orange beef and my husband ordered orange chicken. I loved my beef as it was cooked nicely and had great flavor. Give this place a try! The service was wonderful right off the bat. The employees that helped us were very helpful and kind. The food was delicious, we got there around 7-7:30(?) so it was dinner. The portions are pretty big, so expect to be well fed! Their menu is very big, one of the biggest menus I've ever seen with many options. I had the pineapple chicken and my husband had chicken fried rice. We started with a little bowl of soup and a mini egg roll, along with steamed potstickers for appetizers. The ambience was very good as well, the music was pretty quiet and overall a comfortable time. I would recommend 10/10, I believe they deserve more customers. read more

We have eaten here for years. The prices are higher than most, the portions are large and for the most part we've been satisfied. However, we will not frequent them again! We recently placed an order for 6 meals. i Ordered online and paid as we normally do. I left a tip which I felt was more than fair for the driver inspire of him getting lost and being over the hour in delivering our food. shortly after I received a call from the restaurant asking me why my tip wasn't at least 10%. Our bill was 130.00, my tip for him delivering was more than adequate to drive the few miles to deliver the food but I agreed to her charging my credit card at total if 13.00 to avoid them doing something to my food. We will never eat there again. When we eat in the restaurant we've always left a 20% tip for the service. I am gonna have to give this place a "meh". The main was great worth going back and seeing if they can redeem themselves. The problem lies with the sides. The fried rice was full of peas and carrots, I ordered it with no vegetables, it was explained to me when I got there to pick up our order that it comes pre made with veggies. The spring roll was cold And oily. And the egg drop soup was bland. I ordered 2 generals chicken dinners and a sweet and sour dinner. It was honestly enough food for 9 people. We regularly order from Dragon House. For 10 years it's been our favorite Chinese. I've never had cold food, they've never once messed up our order, I've never had rude service and the drivers are always very friendly. We even order oddly like "Mongolian beef, $3 extra beef and please keep the rice noodles in a separate container." Bad delivery service took 1.5 hrs to get to the hotel and food was bad did not taste good or look appealing

This is the second time we have taken advice of people telling us the food was good. We ordered an appetizer platter, the beef and shrimp were burnt to start and found the sweet and sour to have a very distinct taste of vinegar as did the sesame chicken which was spongy not crisp. In all fairness some of this is subject to taste but burning things is just bad. On a side note we also got onion rings and they were good hence the 2 star. read more

We got their combination fried rice & the shrimp & beef chef's specialty. The food was bland, there's no spice in it. No salt no nothing. The meat in the fried rice doesn't taste anything at all. It's BLAND. So since I also got that beef & shrimp chefs special and that has a sauce I figured I'll use the sauce & mix it with my fried rice. Same thing it's bland. When I lived on the east side of Des Moines, we always used to come here or get delivery. The great part is they do deliver literally all over the metro! My favorite dishes are the empress chicken and chicken lo mein. The rice is decent and the soup is decent. Not the best Chinese I've ever had but definitely crave once in awhile. I got the Mongolian Beef meal it came with 8 tiny pieces of beef and I mean when I say small they where the size of a quarter. it came with soup which was okay, but very bland, it also came with an egg roll, which was also very small and not just small it was cold on the inside. I'm pretty sure they freeze these and re heat them and Because I got delivery I had to order at least $10 worth of food so I added fried beef wontons they were nothing but chewy breading I didn't even find meat in 2 of them and the other 4 the beef was so small the pieces were the size of my pinky nail I promise I am not over exaggerating. Tonight, out of the 3 meals we ordered - 2 of them contained spoiled ingredients and had to be thrown out. I placed my order at 8:30pm and received a call at 9:51pm that they had just received my order and hadn't even began it, then the lady said that they will be closed so the driver would be delivering it in his own car and asked about a tip, I said you have a $2.00 service fee and I put $2.00 on the card (also I tip cash at my door depending on delivery) she said that is a very little tip. I reminded her that I placed the order over an hour ago and they were just now filling it, not to mention since when is a tip mandated?
