Dragon House continues to impress. This was our second time trying Dragon House and it satisfied everyone again. Two for two! They offer dinner combinations that are a decent value for the variety. We got the spare ribs combo, which came with pork fried rice and an egg roll. I noticed Pad Thai on the menu, and that's not typical for Chinese takeout... so of course we tried it. The chicken Pad Thai wasn't sweet or overly saucy. It was a bit drier with a nice smoky flavor, and I was happy with it. The kids said the sesame chicken and everything else was also great. Everyone in my family seems to like the food here, so we'll continue to return. On my way back to the car after picking up the food, the owner came running out with my sesame chicken. He was assembling other orders and realized it never got packed. I commend him for being organized and realizing this... and saving me a trip back! read more

Dragon House delivers free if you're within a certain radius and order a minimum amount, and our food arrived quickly and hot. We tried the Egg Drop Soup, House Fried Rice, Triple Delight, and Hunan Chicken. The entrees each had generous portions of the proteins ordered but lacked flavor. Both entrées indicated that they were hot and spicy, but lacked the heat and spicthat was promised. read more

I ordered sesame chicken and cold sesame noodles at the price of $19.85 The sesame chicken at best had 10 measly pieces and sesame noodles barely had any sesame peanut sauce on it. The quality batter was not fried properly and raw and the quality of the chicken was poor. Do yourselves a favor, go to KFC or Popeyes and get their chicken tenders and buy sesame bbq sauce, sesame peanut sauce and noodles at the grocery store and have superior meal for less then $12 read more

Got a craving for Chinese take out which I hadn't had in at least six months. Apparently a lot has changed since then. Ordered vegetable steamed dumplings with sesame sauce. Didn't get the sauce, got the generic one. The dumplings tasted awful, so did the sauce. Also ordered my favorite, fried wontons, Supposed to get a dozen but I certainly didn't get that. Tasted awful and rubbereru, not fresh and crispy. Nothing like it used to taste. Ordered pint of roast pork and vegetables and got maybe 4 slices of pork. Extremely disappointed with my entire order and, unfortunately, will NOT be ordering from them ever again. They lost a loyal customer from the day they opened about 15 years ago. read more

Looks like a stereotypical Chinese place but it blows other places around here out of the water. I get around Bergen and Rockland county a lot and whenever I get food from another place I always end up wishing I ordered from dragon house instead. This is a solid take-out spot in my hometown (as far as I know, take-out is in the only available option for this restaurant). The food: A really good spice-mix in the meat for the wontons and dumplings; not sweet, just tasty. The springrolls had a delicious, thin shell on the outside with only a minimum of grease. The shrimp and lobster sauce was awesome! - it was like lobster-flavored egg-drop soup with huge shrimp that were tender and not at all bland. The fried rice was good, but was missing something (maybe MSG, but I can't be sure). The spare ribs were more than passable, if not a little too sweet (although that didn't stop me from eating them cold on the second day). I hadn't had straight-up Chinese food in over a year (I've fallen victim to that DC habit of clinging to Japanese and Thai food, and have been lax in my pursuit of the great culinary tradition that brought us beef and broccoli and egg foo yung). As a result, this Chinese bonanza really hit the spot and was better that a lot of the Chinese food that I remember (and better than almost all of the stuff I had in the DC area when I first moved there). *Note - if you have a recommendation for great Chinese in the DC/metro, please don't hesitate to drop me a line. I'll be craving it regularly when I get back. Everybody has their own favorite Chinese place in their area, so I don't think that this spot will draw people away from their restaurant-of-habit, but I'd recommend giving it a shot if you're in my neck of northern NJ and could use a good wonton/egg-roll/fried rice fix. read more

What a disappointment. Everything ranged from mediocre to way below average. The lo mein noodle was very overcooked and very soft. The beef and broccoli was especially bad. I do not know what the cut of beef was but it was fatty, soft and disgusting. The broccoli has lots of yellowing indicating it was old. Come on. Just tell your customer you are out of broccoli instead of serving that. Would never go here again. read more

I've been going to this place since forever. It's been a Christmas Eve tradition just as long. Your taste in Chinese is mostly influenced on the Chinese you got as a child. The same is true of pizza. If you grew up on Domino's, that may be your definition of great pizza (it's not, sorry). Dragon House just hits me right. It is basically a storefront, takeout place. Call them up and order. 20 minutes later, pick up your hot bag of deliciousness. My go to meal has almost always been the same: steamed dumplings, bbq ribs, house fried rice, pork lo mein, chicken w/ mushrooms, general tao chicken. The entree comes with white rice and they always throw in a 2l bottle of soda. Each item is very good. There's enough food there to feed 6 normal humans. Sadly, I'm not normal and eat as if I've been on a hunger strike. With Golden Dynasty in hillsdale gone, I hope this place remains open through Covid and thrives beyond. It's a little gem. read more

i have been a customer of the dragon house for 7 years.They know me by voice when i call. a very regular.So i go there and i am short 25 cents.I realized it there ,forgot my jacket . so i go to my car looking for the 25 cents see if i can find in floor or under seat. so i asked my chineese buddy that knows me "hey can i bring you back the 25 cents later?". he looks at his mom or older lady , speak in chineese and responds " no you need the 25 cents" I said "come on i am a regular ill bring it back" he still said no with the food already prepared...come on guys , i said one last attempt come on it's 25 cents ill bring back i am a regular you know me ..he shook his head NO!!. I left... folks by no means , i am a rude customer or someone that deserved that . there is no choice around these parts for chinese food.. these guys are penny pinchers and cheap.... read more

Moved into Park Ridge recently and tried Dragon House. First order I got fried rice, boneless ribs, and dumplings. It was so delicious! No problems at all. Then my next order I wanted to try the General Tso chicken, it was good the first few bites. Then I bit into a piece and I cannot even describe the taste it was just absolutely disgusting! I spit it right out and lost my appetite. I have inserted a picture of the "General Tso Chicken". It did not look like chicken at all, I have cooked and eaten chicken plenty of times and this product was not chicken! be weary of what you eat here! What do you all think of that? read more

Standard Chinese take out restaurant. I like their beef with broccoli combo. I am also a fan of their pork fried rice and lo mein noodles. Their pan seared dumplings are pretty solid as is their wonton soup. The only other thing I have had is their General Tso's chicken which was just ok. This is my new local favorite place. I've been off chinese food for some time since there weren't many in the area that were good. I decided to try this place out since it was under new management. I ordered chicken lo mein and Mongolian beef. I was quite impressed with the freshness of the vegetables and meat. Also just right on the saltiness. Prices and portion was very good. While there were bad reviews, I saw that this place is under new management, so wanted to give it a try. I won't say it's the best Chinese, but it's really pretty good! We had an egg roll (crispy but not greasy), steamed dumplings (not doughy but we didn't like the sauce it came with), and boneless ribs (good sauce, wish there had been more!) Generally speaking the food is better than a lot of other Chinese take-outs. The exception is he won-tons. Don't order it. Very thick, starchy won-ton skins. We have been customers for years. The food is great, the prices are more than reasonable and they deliver in no time even when they say it'll be 45 minutes. The people are nice to deal with.
