Very bad experience after years of going here. I have a family and placed a large order. I collected the food and when I opened it, I realized only 1 of 6 meals were in the bags. I had the soups and boxes of rice. I called the store and they said yes we forgot to give you the other bag, we will deliver it. I offered to come collect it but they said it would be right there. 30 minutes later it shows and the food I previously picked up was now cold and the other items are lukewarm. I drove back and explained this was unacceptable and I want them to remake the food, as it was over an hour old at this point. They said no problem but what I watched will make me never go back. They moved the items to another room and one by one brought them back and put them back in the bag. They took the egg rolls and threw them back in the fryer so they were a greasy mess. I informed the guy that I asked them to remake it and he told me no we would reheat it. They then told me that several of the things I ordered were the last items and they couldn't remake it. I asked them to refund my card, but it was never done. They clearly have little concern over food safety at this place and worse, they are deceptive and untrustworthy. It is a real pity because the food was decent but I will never eat it again after witnessing them take egg rolls that I handled back into the oil at the location. read more

The people here are so sweet and friendly, but best of all, the food is delicious!! Since we moved to this area, we've tried a bunch of spots, hoping to find our new go-to. Way too salty. I ordered the chicken and broccoli lunch combo and the 5pc chicken wings, and only the pork fried rice that came with the lunch combo was seasoned correctly. Everything else was overly salty. I wouldn't recommend this place unless every other Chinese take out place nearby was closed. read more

Just moved to Norwood and this place is the best Chinese food restaurant in the area. You will not be disappointed.

Ok, as far as Chinese food goes, it's meh... People here are cheap...they charged me $0.50 for an extra container bc I asked if they could give me an extra plate or whatever to hold the food to cool it down so my kids can eat on their way to swim practice (I ordered full sized, not lunch special chicken and broccoli, beef with Chinese vegetables and pork lo mein for the 4 of us) They also started to charge for hot oil where other Chinese places give this out for free We go to the lotus in Hackensack where the food isn't ridden by oil and grease and they'll give a huge heaping of whatever extra sauces you ask for-no charge, plus they don't charge for extra plates ...don't believe me? Next time you order a dish, hold it off to the side and see how much OIL and GREASE runs down...you can clearly tell how much there is...the yellow oil versus brown sauce-yellow oil wins! If the food was really good, despite the cheapness, I'll return..but it isn't all that and why haggle over a plate with a business that's so cheap? Really?!? It's just one damn plate ...I just order from Joy on Livingston or the other million Chinese fast food places in the area I like to patronize local businesses but this kind of cheapness is too much for me to handle read more

Hunan Royal is take-out and delivery only. It's my go-to place for Chinese food. It's been there for years, and they do a fantastic job. Enormous menu, like many similar family-run Chinese storefronts. The crab rangoons are addictive like crack. The pork fried rice is spot-on. As far as Chinese food delivery goes this place is tops!! The food is well prepared and the fried rice is also done well with vegetables. The staff is super friendly and the delivery people are great and follow direction well. I have a dog and like delivery people to call rather than knock so my dog doesn't go wild. Most people forget but these guys get it right every time. I have tried all the delivery places in the general area and this place is far better tasting than all their competition in this area. There are two other delivery places closer to my house but they take even longer to get here and their food is not comparable. I would recommend this place to anyone that loves their Chinese takeout. One time I stepped out to get my food delivery and accidentally locked myself out of my apartment! (Dumb). The delivery guy dropped me off down the street to get my spare key. Food is decent compared to other local places but the high prices don't match the service. Order when they're not busy. Waited over an hour for my food and wasn't called that they received the wrong credit card information and when I asked them why they didn't call to verify this over an hour ago the man on the phone said he called which was a blatant LIE. Don't blame your customers for bad service. By the time the food got there I was beyond annoyed and had no appetite. And stupid me included a tip with my order. Food was cold as well. Also, more pricey than typical Chinese takeout places in this area. Halfway into beef dish MSG oil pooled up on top of food in carton. For the price, speed, and the quality of the food, I give it five stars all the way. Just remember this is a take away joint that still serves decent chop suey of all things! And yes, I order it out of habit because I've been coming here since I was a kid. Even though it's not "authentic Chinese" dish, I still order it because simply put, it's delicious. They do it well. Not just that but the spare ribs, sweet and sour prawns, all the noodles...the food goes on and on and they do everything well there. This place has deteriorated so much in the past 6 months. The food is beyond awful. It is dry, and the egg rolls are fried 2-3 times leaving a very oily consistency. I used to swear by this place but I am done. Last night I ordered 2 rib dinners and General tsos chicken. Needless to say the 38 dollars I spent i threw in the garbage. Either get your act together or quit while you can still fool people into thinking you are ahead. read more
