I have come to this place several times. The food is good and reasonably priced. The place is a little run down but is kept clean. Service has always been friendly and good. I would recommend the coconut shrimp. The hot and sour soup is a little spicy for my taste but I like their other soups. My husband and I were staying at Hat Creek in Old Station and drove into Burney each night for dinner. With Lassen being mostly closed still, we had time to make the 35 min. drive for dinner. The service was GREAT. The food was average - typical Chinese food. Waitress recommended sweet & sour chicken as opposed to the pork, and it was very good. She also made the change on the combination plate from pork to chicken without a charge. We enjoyed a window seat. The combination plates gives you about 2-3 normal servings sizes, which was more than enough food for us. read more

The service is very slow and the meat portions are ridiculous! I order the Kung pow three which came with shrimp, chicken and beef but there were more peanuts on my plate then meat. First time eating dinner here. Men's bathroom was poorly stocked and filfthy. Looked like a typical gas station restroom and not an eating establishment restroom. The food... Think they should put more effort into quality and ingredients in food and less into gargantuan portions of pretty blah food. Pork fried rice was just that... lots of rice and a few pieces of pork . Not very tasty or appealing to the eye. Our waitress was very nice, but we had a $4 discrepancy in bill because she added the tax, but neglected to enter it on the bill. read more

Man I came here for lunch and spent $35 (yeah this place is super expensive) on over cooked and old shrimp and cream cheese wontons, old recooked egg rolls, General Tso Chicken which was below par and fried rice that was half white and half brown with a big chunk of an unmixed egg right in the middle of the container. I'm super disappointed in the service I received from this place. Just because the town of Burney is small doesn't mean you can ease up on quality service. Did not get what we ordered and then they burned the pan fried noodles and when questioned about the burndt noodles, they said, "thats what pan fried is" One party ate the horrblie food one did not, and they charged for everything, when I complained they deducted $4.00. My friend and his wife called to order some take out and were treated with pure rudeness. We were shocked to be spoken to the way we were from a professional establishment. When we walked in, every table in the restaurant was covered with dirty dishes except 2 two person tables. There was trash and silverware on the floor. We sat at one of the clean tables and it had something orange and gooey spilled on it. The waitress did wipe it off. The food was quite a bit more expensive than the restaurants at home (50 miles away). I ordered hot tea and she told me that their hot water didn't work. We ordered Chow Fun and Mandarin Chicken. We got the Chow Fun after a while, and though it was kind of cold, it wasn't bad. Then they brought the Mandarin Chicken and it was so hot and spicy that we couldn't eat one bite. We tried to get the waitress' attention and finally only got "Yeah it's hot" out of her. We ate the Chow Fun and waited and waited and she finally came and asked us if we wanted a box. We told her no, that we couldn't eat the Mandarin Chicken because it was too spicy and she took it and threw it in the garbage. Then she brought the bill and they charged us for it. When we told her we couldn't eat it, she said we should have seen the pepper next to it on the menu, and that some of their cooks make it extra hot and it was just too bad. I have had Mandarin Chicken at a lot of places and it's never been spicy. We paid $27.00 and had to go buy antacid and eat again at another restaurant. read more

This restaurant is a great addition to Burney. We retired here from the San Francisco Bay Area and the food at Dragon Palace is every bit the quality of Bay Area Chinese restaurants but in our small town. Their lunch specials are great and include soup and an egg roll. Most of the time if you saw an ethnic restaurant in a small town you would be skeptical but you would be wrong on this one. Moved to the small town of Burney from a big city & I was surprised to find a Chinese food restaurant that was actually good! We love their pot stickers & honey walnut prawns. They are one of the few restaurants in town that stay open later than 8 by the way. read more

I lived in the S.F. Bay Area for forty years before transplanting myself here in the Burney area. Needless to say, in the Bay Area there are Chinese type restaurants a plenty. This place is far better than any I have tried. I work around a lot of employees that travel throughout California and many agree that Dragon Palace is top notch. I will admit they had a pretty bad waitress there for a bit but the server that seems to be there now rates a 10 for service. I would give 4 stars but gave 5 to off set the guy that gave only one star and the completely retarded review. What can you expect from a guy that talks about being drunk at 2AM while his preggers wife is at home, or did she have the twin kids by then?... Either way, 2AM drunk, stuffing face at eatery and then writing a review about being too drunk to fully remember the place but gave it more stars than DP....seriously? I just can't respect a negative review about Dragon Palace from a drunken narcissist like that. Anyway, Dragon Palace won't disappoint. read more

I am now a local, having purchased a home in town and have eaten there many times, dine in and take out. Food quality seem to vary. Sometimes Mongolian beef has green onions, sometimes cheaper white onions. No consistency. Fried rice is basically white rice with soy sauce. Very sad. We, my wife and I dined in last Wednesday and her sweet and sour pork (sauce on the side) was chewy and gristly. Even boneless pork loin in bulk is less than $2 per pound. The bathrooms are filthy . I can only imagine what the kitchens look like . As a man I was almost scared to have a P in the bathroom and touch the light switch which was caked with dirt; pretty grim situation . Service was very good, ice tea almost like water. I feel as though I am a prisoner living in Burney . if I want to purchase Chinese food , Perhaps I should just drive to Redding on the weekend and dine there with my lovely wife . I definitely would not go out of my way to dine there unless I had a Chinese food emergency. read more
