Asian Garden is located in the little off the freeway town of Corning about 20 min south of Red Bluff. It makes a convenient stop for some Chinese food off the 5 freeway if that's what you're in the mood for. The restaurant is set up more like a fast food cafeteria serving Chinese food. Most of the food is already made cooked and in steam trays, like a buffet, except you don't serve yourself here. You pay by the box of food that they will fill for you with whatever dish you like. At least you get to see the food before you pick what to eat ... some of the trays weren't filled too well and some food looked fresher cooked than others, so pick what you want. Prices are pretty cheap, under $10 for a box stuffed full of food, and that box weighs a lot! I got the kung pow chicken, I think that's what it was, I just pointed to what I wanted and the rest of the box stuffed with noodles and fried rice. I'll say it was filling, maybe not the best Chinese fast food I ever had, but for a little town off the freeway, it's pretty good.

Combo 3: walnut shrimp, orange chicken, beef and broccoli

FOOD - Combo 3 Plate: 1 side + 3 entrees. I got half chow main and half fried rice. I definitely liked the rice better. It had more flavor. -- Orange Chicken: this was pretty decent but it didn't taste like your typical orange chicken. 3.5/5 -- Walnut Shrimp: this tasted okay. It's didn't taste authentic to me. 3/5 -- Beef & Broccoli: way more broccoli than beef but that worked out because it was the only vegetable on the plate. 3/5 - Crabmeat Cheese Wonton: 6 fried wontons. These were pretty good. 4/5 - Poke Bowl: I like how you just mark what you want on the form and they make it for you. I chose mixed greens with brown rice as a base, then topped it with spicy tuna and shrimp, crabmeat salad, avocado, seaweed salad, cucumbers, jalapeños, furikake, crispy onions, and sesame seeds with house sauce and spicy mayo. This was pretty good and very filling. 4.5/5 SERVICE: Friendly. I liked that they made some of the items to order. The walnut shrimp and orange chicken were fresh. FINAL THOUGHTS: I would come back for their poke bowl. Their Chinese food wasn't bad but not great.

I will admit that I did not like this place the first time that we went here, but after visiting more often my mind may have changed. The Chinese food is good, but not spectacular. It is freshly prepared and has a good flavor profile. The staff is incredibly friendly, polite, and efficient. The bathrooms were extremely clean and stocked. They are now offering sushi which was delicious, and theses rolls are made fresh on site.

    So so good!!

The best poke bowls ever!!! The nicest people, very clean and everything is so fresh!!! My absolute favorite place to eat!!

I gave this place a another try and it's not good Chinese, I had the mushroom chicken and kungpao chicken meal, the mushrooms dish needed more salt, the kungpao had a weird sweet taste to it and the rice and noodles are very bland. I noticed that they did add 3 sushi rolls to the menu, I got the shrimp crunch roll to try, that was good. I would only come back for that roll, I hope they add more rolls to the menu.

Mushroom chicken, mixed vegetables with tofu, chow mein and fried rice - combo plate

We stopped by here to grab some Chinese food. I went with a combo plate with 2 items. The mushroom chicken was delicious! The chicken was tender and flavorful. The mixed vegetables tasted ok. I wish there was more tofu. I also ordered the sesame balls and they are filled with red bean. The sesame balls was really good. We also ordered milk tea with Boba. It's great to finally have a place that offers milk tea in corning. Overall, I'd highly recommend if you are craving Chinese food. Food and service was great here.

Tonight though, the food was next level. To set the scene, the line was out the door when I arrived, but they were flying through customers. I had thankfully placed an online order & saw it ready & waiting for me. My patience was also at a miraculous high. Blessings for all. My husband got the chicken combo plate, and he has a full meals worth of food left over for tomorrow, which is thankfully typical here. In this economy?? Yes please. The katsu was so juicy and crunchy, the bbq chicken was equally tender with a good char in places. I got a poke bowl, and I swear to god in heaven the girl who made this bowl was placed on this earth to bless my dinner tonight. I need also to go back and get her skin care routine. We ordered extra sauce and they literally 3x what we paid for. ETA for the online order was 15 mins, I walked in after 14 & my food was ready. They easily has 10 tickets they were actively working through, and as stated a line out the door. The food was impeccable. The hosts were congenial and friendly and took our orders confidently and quickly. My wife and daughters ordered poke bowls and I ordered their Ramen. The Poke bowls were pretty good (in comparison with the Poke spots we have in Sac), and the ladies cleaned their bowls completely. There are three types of Ramen bowls available (Spam, Miso and Seafood), and I selected the Seafood option. It was a standard mix of shrimp, imitation crab, and scallops with fish cake, green onions and seaweed with a miso-like broth. The bowl was pretty solid, the broth could use a bit more flavor. So all in all, it was a solid meal for us. I would give the poke bowls a solid B, and the Ramen bowl a B-. Poke Land is a good place to have Poke or Ramen if you're in Redding. I surmise that there are better Ramen options within the Japanese restaurants around town, maybe better Poke options too. However, this is a good place that does both.

Its a casual yet classy place for lunch and dinner. They have a shaded patio in front as well ( dog friendly). I love smaller towns! Relatively no traffic or crime! My boyfriend and I ordered off the lunch specials menu. He ordered the smash burger and chose macaroni salad. I ordered the grilled shrimp on a skewer with brown rice and spicy coleslaw. We always try each other's food! The smash burger was juicy and the macaroni salad was good! My shrimp had a nice grill on it and the coleslaw was delicious. The brown rice was alittle dry for my taste buds. It has a full bar with tvs to watch sports. There is quieter seating on the other side of the bar area. Overall it was a good experience! At dinnertime on a Friday my nearest neighbors were twenty feet away kneeling at a Japanese-style low table. I got to vibe in the quiet background music and the distant Friday night sounds of downtown. I tried the pork ramen, which felt a bit Americanized (kale, corn, shiitake mushrooms, green onions, half a ramen egg, and spicy ground meat in what appears to be a vegetable broth), but had surprising heat build-up as I ate and a pleasant aftertaste. The real highlight was the tea service. I ordered some red chai, which was served with a small teapot to table-steep it in; a carafe of hot water; and a tea box to pour out the first wash into. The server walked me through the process and the tea was fantastic, with a marvelous spice balance. Next time I think I'll try the poke bowl the other reviewers have enjoyed.
