Multiple times, she yelled one word questions and answer, expecting me to decipher what she meant/was asking. If I didn't understand what she said, she would get upset, because her one-word question or grunt didn't get by me. I also ate in the restaurant and there was a LOT of yelling. A lot of yelling between her and the staff in particular. If you want cheap sushi that's worth it for the price in terms of quality, definitely get take out here. I would not recommend ANYONE come here for any semblance of decent service. Best known for super cheap food and large portions. The sushi special is 3 rolls for $15. I personally try to get the pork katsu since it's quite affordable and you get a variety (and a good quantity of food). The katsu itself is rather dry (the chicken is even dryer), though it's not terrible. Basically, if you're not picky, are hungry, and want to save money, Dragon sushi is a great takeout option. They have some specials and the sushi is definitely fresh, but I wouldn't call anything I've had there exceptional. Noted they have some deals on rolls, but presently I've been cutting down on my rice intake so I went for their Naruto, i.e., a rice-free roll of salmon, tuna, crab stick, avocado and tobiko (flying fish roe) wrapped in cucumber and accompanied with Ponzu Sauce, and Sashimi Deluxe. Although the Sashimi Deluxe had 21 pieces, there was no salad or soup side provided, as you'll likely find elsewhere. The modest size sashimi slices left me still hungry - not gratifying considering the price. On the other hand, the Naruto is something I'd order again. For me, I opt for Dragon Sushi because it's closest to my home. It's not somewhere I'd go out of my way for. We've ordered through Grubhub from this place several times and the quality has been pretty consistent each time. The ikura sushi is always really fresh and not too fishy, and they're pretty generous in terms of how much salmon roe they give you. You also can't beat the 3 rolls for $14. Both the Broadway roll and the Best of the Best rolls were excellent. The only thing I probably won't get again is the pint of seafood soup for $7, which was mostly filled with imitation crab meat, imitation fish cake, one small scallop, and two overcooked shrimp. This restaurant recently opened on Frederick Douglass Blvd. This review is about my experience attempting to purchase a meal from the restaurant as I decided not to purchase food after what occurred with their hired staff outside. I approached the door on 11/16/20 and there was a restaurant worker with a tool attempting to repair what appeared to be the door sweep. After waiting three minutes and not being let in, I said, "Hello, are you guys open?", as the lights were on, attendants were at the cash register and there was an "OPEN" sign on the door. He ignored me. I waited a few more minutes and asked again and then he turned around and literally, shooed me away with his hand, using a gesture one might use when you want a dog or another animal to get away from you. I then stepped up to the window glass and got the attention of one of the workers inside and mouthed, "Are you open?". They said yes, but the man at the door still would not move so I would enter. The attendant then had to leave the cash register to come to the door to open it so that I could come inside as the man outside made no movements into letting me inside the store. Once I was inside, I explained what had happened and I was told that he didn't speak English. Still I didn't feel that the people in the restaurant sufficiently acknowledged what he did or even bothered to go to him and reprimand his behavior. As I turned around to look at him, I saw that he stepped back outside and literally held the door open for a mixed White/Asian couple with a baby carriage. I was shocked. As a black woman, who has lived in this neighborhood for year, I would never expect to literally being shooed away from an establishment while minutes later the same person could hold the door open for different races of people. As the couple heard my story, they decided to walk out of the restaurant and I did as well. To Dragon Sushi, this is Harlem. This is a Black community. It would be advisable not to treat people who make up the majority of the community, like they are unwanted and unwelcome.
