Two roll special w/ Spicy Tuna Roll and tuna avocado roll

My go to sushi spot. Literally have to force myself not to come here every time I'm in the area. Service is great, from in person to their delivery service. Small spot with limited seating but still I've always managed to grab a seat when I wanna eat in. THE BEST for cheaper sushi that is still great quality. I love u Amsterdam Sushi.....

This is my love letter to Amsterdam Sushi: in my humble opinion, the greatest establishment on earth. As a regular, the all-day 2-roll and 3-roll specials with soup or salad are a godsend. I can only speak to their maki as far as the menu goes due to my commitment to ordering this special, but, their spicy tuna rolls NEVER miss, and they have quite the diverse menu. Spicy salmon, spicy yellowtail, sweet potato, oshinko, inari, eel skin, SALMON MANGO.... all delicious and satisfying. I am deeply grateful for their incredible spicy mix formula: the perfect amount of crunch, sriracha, and graciously light on the mayo. I find that many sushi restaurants are way too heavy on the mayo and it overshadows the fish! Not here! The spicy tuna especially is seriously perfect. The wasabi and gari are both great and the miso soup is perfect. (I have to attribute at least half of my deli cup collection to this order.) The interior is charmingly antiquated--it appears to be converted from an old Subway and retains several features of the old interior. They have a great in-house deliverista, sushi chefs who are always locked IN, and a cashier who I found charismatic, attentive, and careful, even when they were bombarded with orders at peak hours. The cashier simultaneously works like a MACHINE to package the takeout orders, which are always neatly and perfectly packed, with a recycled piece of cardboard to keep your hot soup separate from your fresh sushi. If you call to order, the phone operator will remember your last order and address for next time. (To order online, use Beyond Menu instead of the big corporate apps for no fees! And call directly for delivery!!!) I've also eaten in several times and it's always a pleasant and charming experience. The immediate area is somewhat of a food desert as far as affordable and nourishing takeout goes, so this place was a lifesaver when I lived around the corner. It was the first meal I had after moving in, and would become my ol' reliable for all of my time there. Missing this place is truly the saddest part about moving out of west Harlem. I will crave it for the rest of my life and hold its special place in my heart forever. LONG LIVE AMSTERDAM SUSHI!!

I usually order from here and it is quite delicious very fresh. We recently ordered the meal for two people and went to pick it up. I recommend this place because it is my niece's favorite. They are also nice and told me they can make anything we want. This place is mostly take out and I would not eat there.

Subpar sushi. Not the best but certainly not the worst. I ordered their 3 rolls for $16. Wish they came with more dipping sides.

Delicious and fresh sushi in Harlem. I like the fast delivery service. Never been to the actual restaurant though.

That's seriously the only food I am craving now. When we got there, the restaurant itself is very small, there are only no more than 10 tables fitting 2 persons inside and a few tables outdoors. There is a staircase with upstairs that is the Omakase (which is only open on Wednesday through Sat) and it is a pre-fixe menu. We stayed downstairs and ordered a la carte. First, I have to note that it ended up being a very busy evening. There was only 1 server who was managing about 6 tables plus a few take out orders. He was definitely swamped. It took us over 20 minutes to take our order as he was running around busy! We ordered several dishes to share for app: Shishito peppers, rock shrimp, and the edamame. Loved the shishito peppers which had an amazing sauce on top! And the rock shrimp was good too, but too much breading. For our mains, we ordered the seafood soup and the black cod to share and the shrimp tempura roll (only cooked sushi option!) The seafood soup was absolutely delicious! So flavorful. However the shrimps in there were so small, with the exception of 1 huge shrimp. Overall, we really had a good experience. I would definitely return to try more of the sushi as it looked so fresh. However definitely recommend they hire more servers to help out.

It's a cute little basement bar with some tables along with a bar top to sit and a cozy little area in the back to sit at if you're with a couple of friends wanting to celebrate something or just to hangout. You see to my surprise they told me they no longer serve sushi and that they changed the whole concept of the place and the menu. I was a little disappointed but I decided I was there already so I would work with what they had to offer. I saw they had a decent happy hour menu, but I decided to order a drink that was not on the Happy Hour menu. Their version of a Lychee Martini. It was strong and flavorful, but very refreshing. For my tapas options I went with some Arancini and Zucchini flowers. I didn't want too much to eat after having such a huge breakfast. The arancini was flavorless but really good with the marinara sauce it came with, and to my surprise the zucchini flowers were amazing. It was piping hot, crispy with the most intense cheese pull, served with some spicy sauce and marinara as well. I went back and forth with dipping them into each condiment. I told the guy who took my order and served me that they should bottle that marinara, it was delicious. I don't know how this place use to be but I'm interested in returning for another visit because I was definitely feeling the whole vibe of the place along with the food. I think it might be a good place to visit for the whole Happy Hour of it all. Thumbs up and Happy Yelping!

They offer lunch/12 courses/$49 and dinner/14 courses/$65 which is excellent value for amount of courses. Unfortunately, the sushi fell quite flat. The fish overall tasted quite bland and not fresh. The rice was fine and appropriately seasoned but I just didn't really enjoy the fish. They offer typical findings like amberjack, striped jack, madai, toro, scallop. The ikura was nice and tasty. The chefs were quite considerate towards the amount of rice and wasabi you prefer. The service is quite efficient with not much waiting between courses. Overall I really wanted to like Shihou omakase but just didn't have that great dining experiences food-wise. I think it's a great value for the omakase you get but with other options a bit more in price nearby and around NYC, I think it would be hard to justify repeat visits but hope these were just off-experiences as I do really appreciate the enthusiasm and service!
