Thankfully, you can pull around the corner and park along the sidewalk The arrangement inside reminds me of a different bánh mì place in Dorchester; refrigerator on the side with a bunch of Asian drinks. A large variety of dried snacks and jerky in the center. Next to the register, you get full view of how the bánh mì is made, and I never get tired of watching. The bánh mì itself is pretty darn good. The bread here has to be the crunchiest bánh mì bread I have ever eaten. It's still light and airy inside, but the crust is phenomenally crunchy and gets absolutely everywhere. The pickled vegetables are on point, and the combination ham and BBQ are exactly how they should taste. If you've never had bánh mì before, then I totally recommend this place. As of today, 5/13/22, the price for a regular banh mi after tax is $9.51. As others have mentioned, prices are over inflated here and I'm not sure the quality validates the price gouging. There's also a charge if you use your card for purchase or if you ask for a bag. Always ask for prices as items are not marked. Food is just okay imo. A lot of the grab items are frozen and heated/ delivered from outside vendors. Service is a toss up depending on their mood. The place is clean for the most part, but can be iffy as they have children/babies behind the counter frequently. read more

What used to be a local gem is now just one of the many quick Vietnamese sandwich shops in Lowell. With other spots having a lesser minimum charge or none at all, it's easy enough to just go there instead, grab a sandwich or a drink and not worry about having to meet the requirement to use a card when we live in a world where cash is becoming obsolete. $10 minimum is just a bit high for a place like this. And parking here can be a pain now that it's getting more popular especially when they only have 5 spots available. Milk Tea- It was a little bit pasty. Makes me kind of question if it's powder. Sugar Cane Drink- I can't just get one when they do the fresh pressing here. It's an absolutely amazing refreshment. Fried Pork Roll Sandwich- One of the more unique sandwich. They were pretty generous with the sliced pork roll and together with the cilantro, pickled carrots, daikon, cucumbers, mayo and soy sauce, it was satisfying. Chicken Sandwich- A huge question mark. I didn't know if it was actually chicken or maybe mince chicken, no clue but it was okay. I feel like anything in a baguette with all the typical Vietnamese sandwich ingredients is edible. AH I really wanted to like this place because I LOVE banh mi - it is my absolute favorite food. I recently moved up to New Hampshire from Texas and we have really great banh mi in Texas and I was told that Lowell is basically where I'll find all my good Asian eats and it's only ~30 minutes away. I love that they have all these Asian snacks and Vietnamese prepared foods in the fridge. Like other reviewers have stated, they fail to price their items so you don't really know how much you're spending until they ring you up. I tried one of their banh baos AKA pork buns and thought it was just okay. The filling was decent and the actual bun was pretty thick. I got the #1 combo - banh mi thit. The pate here is really unique. Is unique a good thing? You be the judge. I personally wasn't a fan but others seem to like it. I like traditional pate. Out of all the meats, I was okay with the ham, pork roll, and head cheese but I wasn't a fan of their char-siu pork. Their char-siu pork is a bit on the dry side and the flavoring wasn't great. The bread was on the hard side...it's definitely supposed to have a crunchy, flaky exterior but it was TOO crunchy/flaky. The overall sandwich was pretty hard to eat. They also don't give you jalapenos, I only learned after that you have to request for them. Consolation was they have sugarcane juice! Freshly squeezed and super refreshing. Hi, This small setup is well maintained. Vietnamese sandwiches are clean, light and tasty. A good variety of snacks to choose from, conveniently laid about. They are however, smacks you can find at a lower price point, and with a price label at your local Asian market . I'm fortunate to have Ming's and Super 88 near me for this. In and out swiftly, love that. If you stick to just the menu and beverages then it shouldn't break the bank. Prices are what they are across the board in our local economy, but it does feel good to spend a bit more on food served with care. I will stop by and take out from there again! read more

came here a few times over the years when i'm around the area. food caught me by surprised and was way better than i expected. the prices have always been very high for their food compared to other banh mi places, but their banh mi portion size is big. for example, the place i normally go to for banh mi is Ba Le in dorchester since it's closer to me and at the time, their banh mi was around ~$5 and this place was priced at $6.50-$7 but banh mi was definitely bigger. their spring rolls are good also, but they do drench them in a lot of oil. i would say that my favorite part about this place is the viet iced coffee! i think they have the best coffee in the state honestly. it is the right amount of sweetness and very strong taste. read more

Extremely overpriced and slow service. I'm not going to lie, the sandwiches here are really good. Possibly the best I can remember having to be honest. The store has a small parking area out front with approximately ten spots. This was one of the main reasons I stopped in since parking wouldn't be an issue. The store is very clean with an immense amount of snacks, drinks, desserts, and banh mi selections. I was impressed with the menu since it listed all of the ingredients in each sandwich. This is huge for people with any food allergies. I went with the original banh mi sandwiches and they were delicious. The staff was very attentive and quick when I placed my order as well. This is their newer location which had opened a couple years back and much more bigger than their last shop on Dutton st . Growing up eating vietnamese sandwich, from me picking out the veggies in it and the meat that I like or didn't like . As I grew older, I grew out of it so I learned to eat everything thats in it . Their older locations was one of the best spot for banh mi . They have their own unique pate so it makes it very delicious and different from a typical banh mi . Vietnamese iced coffee was good. Eggrolls were good. They sell empanadas which are amazing. The beef ones are from stewed beef not like the dry ones people are used to. The steamed buns (banh bao) are exactly how I like them. The bread is sweet and pork is nicely spiced unlike the ones Chinese restaurants sell that have super plain bread. The sandwiches were great. Crispy airy bread, good mayo, good pickle to the carrots and radish, and one nice touch was the added sliced roast pork (xa xiu) to the cold cut sandwich giving it a more diverse texture. The place was vibrant and clean. Other people complained about the price but had nothing to say about the food. Do you trust a food review that has no mention of food? Good banh mi is hard to find anywhere. Dorchester is not the Vietnamese food capital or gold standard people make it seem to be. Find a place you like and stick with it. These folks used to be a little hard to find, tucked in between the Lowell Textile museum and, the now defunct, Furey's bar. They had the best Bahn Mi in town and the best selection of standard and esoteric prepared and snack foods from all over. It had the vibe of a hidden wizard's shop of curiosities but it was pretty difficult to navigate for my monolingual Caucasian brain and frame. So when they built the new place on the site of a demolished used furniture store/used car dealership, that I'm pretty sure was a drug front, I was stoked, pumped, jazzed, choose two. It is called an "eatery." Its the perfect name, what with the prepared foods, sandwiches, and snacks covering the range and palette to satisfy just about everyone. The snack array is, in my humble opinion, quite impressive. There is a galaxy of edible delights, arranged beautifully, decked in a dazzling swirl of colored packaging. Dense and numerous but not so much as to be overwhelming. Like the penny candy stores of yesteryear but not pigeon holed by "sweets." Sweet honey potato chips?...check. Spicy shrimp corn puffs?...check. Candy that looks like fish teriyaki?...check. Spicy, sour, savory, sweet, juicy, crunchy, chewy, light, creamy, in every combination?...yup. Don't get me wrong, the standards like the mango slices with chili salt dip, pork and shrimp vermi rolls, per unit spring rolls, their truly superior Bahn Mi and bubble tea are my go-to favs. They keep me coming back, for sure. But the variability of the product and the way it is integrated into the decor of the shop, for lack of a better way of putting it, entertains me. Like jangling keys in front of a baby.
