Delicious! Came here on a visit to see my parents and the food is so tasty. I had the grilled red fish taco with kimchi (daily special) and the seared tuna taco and cold edamame. Everything was fresh and delicious, especially the grilled red fish. The soft shell of the taco was also great. Kimchi was a nice slightly spicy addition. The tempura turnip fries are an absolute MUST! These are some of the best veggies fries I've ever had. We came on a Saturday night, and it was pretty empty, but we waited for service for quite a while after being seated. One waitress was covering all of the tables while other waitresses were closing at 8pm... I didn't like this service. The venue is adorable and kind of tucked away with patio seating out front. Definitely hole in the wall vibes with dark lighting and limited seating. The food was amazing! I don't like how it is served in paper boats, but it just goes along with the venue. Besides the tempura turnip fries, my friend and I each got one taco. She got the firecracker shrimp and I got the pork belly... both were extremely delicious! If you are Vegan +/or GF Don't go! I called ahead and the nice lady on the phone assured me they would accommodate. But I only had 2 choices for GF Vegan. One was a noodle bowl swimming in some salty green seasoning (but the menu said miso broth). The other was coconut cabbage curry that was overcooked cabbage in a badly flavored red curry sauce. Honestly I think a vegan chef or owner used to be part of the establishment and the new chefs have no idea how to cook the old recipes or what vegan is. The server actually said to me. The only thing you can have is a salad (all the salads had animal protein or cheese) . He told me The firecracker tofu had fish sauce in it?? We were driving home from being out of town and we were so excited to try this place but sadly we were so disappointed. My fiance is an omnivore and had 2 different types of tacos as well and wings. He almost didn't eat the wings. He also had some friend items that were terribly greasy. We are hoping we caught them in a really bad night. Great little spot with a variety of food choices to please every possible palette. We went in as a group of 8 with vegan and vegetarian diets and everyone had something to choose from. The tacos are 7 dollars each and have varied choices like firecracker shrimp, king pao chicken and brisket. They have salads and vegan/vegetarian bowls along with kungpao and firecracker shrimp bowls with rice and noodles. Their turnip fries were a let down - very oily crust with a soggy turnip inside. BEWARE!!! The owner of this establishment Doug Kerr sold me a commercial fridge from this restaurant. He looked me in the eyes, shook my hand, and guaranteed me that the fridge worked and if it didn't he would drive to me and give me my money. The fridge wouldn't cool, he gave me the run around for 2.5 months, then ghosted me when I called him. I don't know about the food and service here, but I can definitively say that the owner of this place is not to be trusted and will lie to your face while looking you in the eyes. This was one of the worst meals we have ever had. We ordered the smash burger, which is "chefs choice" each night and how could we go wrong?? The sauce on it was one of the worst things I have ever tasted. Could not eat any of the burger, not to mention half was burnt but the inside was a little raw. The wings use to be a go to on every order dine in or carry out. I am not sure what changed but the wings were so fragile that tiny pieces of bone were breaking off and seemed a little scary to eat. Also, who changed the sauce? It is not near as good. Both went in the trash. We also ordered an oyster taco but by the time we had tried the wings and burger we were over it. I was so blown away (and not because hurricane Helene was passing close by)! I'm staying at a nearby resort, and the food here is far and away better (and it costs less)! It's some of the best food I've ever had, and now I'm sad because there isn't one near me. You can taste the fresh ingredients, and the balance of flavors is just perfect! That goes for the drinks too! This place deserves awards, but also, I want it to stay a little undiscovered and accessible . BUT IT SHOULD HAVE ALL THE AWARDS! Staying nearby looking for a home and decided to place a to go order. After being placed on hold for 15 min I decided to come in to order and found only a few guest were dining in. I placed the order, and enjoyed a drink and My order was ready about the same time I finished my drink. When I got back to my hotel I decided to hang up ( still on hold 35-40 min later) and try to enjoy the meal. The quality of the food was nice but no utensils, no napkins and some of the ingredients were missing from the order. ( wage slider missing bacon, cheddar cheese and the egg) ( firecracker shrimp missing egg) It was such a disappointment especially at 10 pm. They closed shortly after so I couldn't call and couldn't find an email or contact info to message privately. I will come again but I'll make sure to keep a better eye on my order. read more

My mom and I had a wonderful dinner tonight at Dragonfly. It's my all time favorite restaurant, I used to come here on a weekly basis when I lived in town. This was our first time trying their new location on Section St and it didn't disappoint. Same awesome food as always but more parking! The service was great and it was both family friendly as well being a good place to grab a drink with friends. I got to try one of Fairhope Brewing's beers, Blue Steel, which I looooved. We started with some tempura turnip fries (whoops I ate like half of them before I took a picture). Then I had a wood grilled wreckfish taco and the king pao chicken bowl as my entree (yes they have a wood-fired grill now). My mom ordered the coconut curry bowl as her entree. This place was packed during the lunch rush and when we arrived, almost every single table was filled. We ended up finding a table outside, which worked out perfectly for us. Service was a little slow and it took awhile for us to get our food, but like I said, it was packed during the lunch rush. I ordered three tacos: braised pork, duck, and firecracker shrimp. Of the three, the braised pork was the most underwhelming. It lacked strong flavors, but the meat was cooked well. The firecracker shrimp and duck tacos were soooo good though--both super flavorful and unique, and the flavors were really complementary. I recently stopped by Dragonfly for a late lunch on a Friday. I'm not sure why it's categorized as a Mexican restaurant since they serve a variety of other dishes such as red curry, turnip fries, edamame, wedge salad, etc. Their thing seems to be "world eclectic cuisine". The interior was a mishmash of decor, tables, booths, etc. which looked like they came from a thrift shop. The floor was bare concrete which led to it being quite noisy inside due to a large table of loud ladies endlessly shouting, drinking wine and talking to their friends on speaker phones. Ugh. We moved to an outdoor table facing a side street which was much more pleasant. I had the wedge salad with tempura fried blue cheese balls which was good except that I paid $6 extra for ribeye to be added to it. There were about 3 pea size pieces of meat at the bottom of the bowl so I wouldn't order that again. I was still hungry and got the toasted bread you'll see in my pics. It was delicious! My friend got a firecracker shrimp taco, a seared tuna taco and habanero chicken wings (inexplicably served with pink radishes). Was in Point Clear for a conference and was looking for a place for lunch on way out. As a vegetarian, it can be challenging to find good restaurants in rural areas. Even my kids enjoyed it. Hubby enjoyed his chicken burrito special and appreciated that it was pulled chicken in a Mexican sauce instead of chopped grilled chicken. I was in the mood for a rice bowl and the waitress recommended the Kung Pao chicken bowl. It was just okay for me...I wish it had more variety of things in it...it was mostly chicken and rice with spicy sauce. (I regret not sticking to the taco menu like done in past trips). There is no kids menu but the restaurant does offer three kids meals if you ask - we ordered butter noodles + grilled shrimp (the noodles are asian noodles) and a chicken & rice bowl (which is just a kids version of the Kung Pao bowl without the spicy sauce). My kids gobbled down the buttered noodles and asked for more! My youngest didn't care for the Chicken & Rice bowl (but he's only 2.5 and pretty picky). We were a little disappointed that the pineapple margarita we had on our last visit wasn't available this time but the waitress was super helpful and offered a pomegranate margarita as an alternative. Finally, the patio dining area is a great spot to eat outside and keep the kids distanced from others since we're still dealing with covid and they are too young to be vaccinated yet. I've always had an enjoyable experience at the Daphnee location. However I am extremely disappointed by the experience I had at the Fairhope location. The server was not approachable at all- didn't seem like he wanted us there. The vegetable fried rice tasted as if the grill had old bits of burnt food in it. We ate two bites of the rice and put it to the side- we never complained and the server never even cared to ask if anything was wrong. Pretty bummed by our experience as we drove all the way from Pensacola to eat there. read more

You know when you design a restaurant with nothing but hard surfaces it is going to be loud. Fill it with people on a busy night and it is deafening. Add to the roar with poor service " Sorry we are out of glasses, you will have to drink your beer from a can." What else could a restaurant do to ruin an evening ? How about abysmal food. My oyster special of the day could have just as easily been cat food. The oysters were smothered in some spice concoction that was loaded with salt and flavors that ran together in an indistinguishable mess. My wife's ramen had a broth that was greasy and tasted like motor oil. We have eaten at the dragonfly several times now and it never was better than mediocre.
