I had to update my review... this is a whole brand new staff, we're not sure what happened to everyone from a month ago. We sat out in the inside/outside patio and it was so stuffy, they really should have some AC or something out there. Which is so opposite from before. All the fans were off. I had the seared ahi. It was ok but the ahi was way too thick and it was COATED in 3 different sauces. I ordered this because I thought it would be on the healthier side since everything there is fried for the most part. The food wasn't the bad part though. It was our service, or lack there of. I don't believe we ever saw a manager so it was non stop horseplay. We never got our waiters name but he was in board shorts and some random shirt. We couldn't get refills, or anything really to save our lives! We even had to go to the bar to get waters. Watching the staff play grab ass the entire meal was not enjoyable. We will never return. This new staff of yours is the worst in fairhope. read more

How is it possible that this restaurant has such beautiful views AND great food? I loved the experience of dining out on the water. The server recommended I get the fresh fish on the half shell, which comes with accoutrements to build your own tacos. Each element of the dish was DELICIOUS. The Blind Tiger on Fairhope AL at the pier I was pleasantly surprised by the level of service and quality of the food. I expected overpriced drinks, a self service window and a nice view of Mobile Bay at sunset. Instead we got a smaller menu with tasty dinners. My wife had the smash burger, I had the mahi-mahi tacos. Both were very good. She ordered the Blue Lagoon drink, I opted for plain ole sweet tea. Our waitress ?? Was personable and efficient. The price was very reasonable, the sunset blocked by clouds but we amused ourselves watching the pelicans dive for fish only a few feet away! A solid FOUR STAR restaurant. read more

I really wanted to love this place and we ate here about three weeks after they opened and left very disappointed. No draft, 5 things maybe six on the menu on a chalkboard. But I figured I'd give it a little while and come back. I was looking for the view and kind of a dive bar atmosphere, which I absolutely got - so five stars on that and five stars on the staff. The only reason I did three stars was because the mahi fish tacos were so incredibly salty. I couldn't even finish one. The black beans and rice were OK, and I couldn't eat the pico because I had cilantro in it but full disclosure the bartender (sweetie pie), I think her name is Emily, absolutely told me that there was cilantro in there. I don't know maybe I just tried the wrong thing but I'll give it one more go third times a charm. Also, I left smelling like a smoker pit because apparently they smoked the wings and barbecue, which is fine but maybe put it outside? I don't know- I'll give it one more go. read more

We had a late light lunch and everything was great. Was so excited that they put this space to good use and did a great job on the renovation! The views on the water create a nice relaxing atmosphere. The vibe is laid back, and the menu is a little limited but with enough options to please all. Our food was well prepared and flavorful. The conch fritter appetizer was a pleasant surprise since you don't see that on many menus in the area. Our cocktails were delicious. A man who seemed to be the manager (sitting with a laptop) yelled across the dining room at a young host (likely high school aged). He called her lazy for showing us a menu on the table instead of handing us one. None of us were affected by her minor mistake, but all of us were deeply uncomfortable by the manager's treatment of a young employee. Then, our server told us we couldn't split a meal because he was scared to get in trouble. That's when we decided to leave. Our group of 5 arrived by boat to enjoy lunch at TBT. Such a beautiful day so perfect that we dined outside on the covered deck. My husband and I enjoyed the smash burger with fries. A delicious burger with lettuce, tomato, pickle, chopped onions, and burger sauce topped with American cheese. Be sure to ask about the daily special. Well.......notice that you're NOT open when it's posted you are open would be a nice start for an improvement! At least 12 of us braved the cold to eat at your restaurant. It was sad to see so many people walk away. People stated they were there last night, loved it, but were returned away today with locked doors!! Update your posted sights with accurate information. I've been here a few times and food and service is excellent every time. My server, Emily, was very friendly and suggested some of their specials - pork tacos and caramel drizzled beignets - which were absolutely delicious! The beignets should be on the menu they were that good. I love tacos and love that they do weekly taco specials and will be back to try new ones. read more

Food is really good when it's good. Lots of turnover a month ago or so, so some rough edges. Some of the staff were incredibly nice (hats off Tommy and Butler and woman at the front) some not (anonymous manager). 'Red royal' (low country bowl) great, wings were skinny, fried shrimp was unexpectedly spicy, pork taco was tasty but not well trimmed.... Mocktails charged as if they had alcohol so ask for the booze on the side to give someone else ($11 for a mocktail???) Soda refills not free. No printed menu so our poor waiter had to repeat it 6-8 times for all of us to understand, and still a few specials not mentioned. PERFECT location, great place to watch the sundown! Stopped by Sunday for lunch after early church. It was warm out so decided to sit inside. Place was nice and on a cool day the outside would be beautiful but decided to sit inside. Ordered the Smash Burger as they touted it as "award winning" and it came with fries. The burger was pretty good and so were the fries. My only complaint is that the menu is sparse if you don't eat seafood. About the only options other than seafood were a salad or the one smash burger, no chicken, steak or anything. Anyway, the burger came with pickles and grilled onions at $16. I would have like to have a few options at that price like grilled jalapeños, pimento cheese, goat cheese or something to elevate it. For what it was it was good though. The service was good and fairly attentive, no complaints there. Overall I would say a good 3.5 due to the very limited menu but not bad if you are looking for something they have. read more

We took a good friend out to eat here last night. We had high expectations. Location is 5+ stars. It ends as soon as you get your food. The Ruby Reds were awful. Spongy and very fishy, the salad was all lettuce with a couple of tomato chunks and a few slivers of onion. The Parmesan oysters were old, small and mostly Parmesan cheese. Plus, when we walked in someone was mopping up a lot of water. I said it looks like you had a water problem. The staff said they were only keeping the place clean???? Mopping the floor during peak hours?? Really strange. I feel very sorry for the owner. This location is awesome and so should the food....It's sad all the surrounding construction has devastated the potential of the establishment. Very excited for the opening of this Bay St. Louis favorite in the Fairhope Pier! We were greeted and seated in the dining area and could view some of the fresh food prep. We sampled the Pickled Shrimp that was so fresh and spiced perfectly. Next up was the seared Ahi Tuna, kissed with Wasabi sauce, sirrachara, and seaweed salad. The smoked Tuna Dip was delicious (and thankfully made it home for a late night snackl). We also ordered the Taco of the Day, which was 2 fried Grouper tacos topped with a super food slaw - very excellent! We ended with the Conch Fritters, which were FULL of fresh Conch - no skimping! We are local's, so as every good Fairhope person does when a new restaurant opens they flood the place, which doesn't create a soft opening for the restaurant. Well, TBT has managed the chaos well. We have been twice now and love it. We haven't gone too crazy on the limited menu, but everything we've tried has been fantastic. Royal Reds, which I love almost anywhere are well seasoned and come in a boat dish with corn and potatoes. Delicious. Raw Oysters - These were sourced around Dauphin and had great flavor. The horseradish was fresh and delicious. Grilled Oysters - Seasoned with parm, garlic and sausage. Yummy! Kids chicken fingers and fries - our daughter ate them all and we ate the fries which were nicely salted. We are beer and wine people and they had a nice selection and were each able to find something we liked. Service - the first night we went we had to wait about 30 minutes. We just walked up and down the pier enjoying the sunset. The hostesses were very friendly. Waitress was attentive and friendly even though she was jamming with a bunch of tables. Our second time we went we sat at the bar and both bartenders were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. The management at TBT has found a great group of people and has done a good job at training. Now for the fun stuff. The atmosphere of this place is awesome. It is actually on the Fairhope pier so you are surrounded by the water, seagulls and boats. It's what the eastern shore is all about. The inside is casual with TVs and fun fishing pics. There is a lot of outside seating to enjoy the scenery and the sunset. The bar is really well designed splitting the inside and outside. If I had one negative it would be that the ice cream is pre-packaged and is as hard as a stone, but once it dethaws it's delicious. We will definitely be going back. read more
