There are very experienced teachers teaching Anusara and Hatha, as well as a few other options. The teachers are very knowledgeable about yoga and therapeutics, and are comfortable working with a wide variety of ages, abilities, and injuries. Some classes feature a broad mix of ages and experience levels, yet thanks to very experienced teachers, the classes include everyone from beginners to yoga teachers, and everyone seems to be getting a lot out of it. The room is beautiful, with a worn wood floor, a view of the capital and tons of natural light. My own favorite teacher is Amie Heeter, who teaches "Hatha Flow" and prenatal classes. Amie is working on a Para Yoga certification, which uses postures, breath, meditation and other approaches. When I moved here from the bay area, there were many studios and classes to choose from, and it was hard to find what I needed here. I was used to faster-paced styles, but I quickly realized that Para Yoga was making me stronger, more flexible, and focused than I had been before. Many of the people at this studio have been coming here for years, yet the community is very welcoming. These are people who love yoga and want others to enjoy it too. If you are looking for something different than hot yoga, hope you'll come and try this out. I look forward to these classes every week.

I was very happy with my class. I'm from out of town and was in Madison for a busy long weekend, so…read moremy second criteria for finding a class was schedule. My first was a class that wasn't hot or really strenuous, and the Friday class I went to (Sage all level with Kristin Sage) was just right for me. The class wasn't too big, maybe six other people. We started out with the instructor reading a poem, followed by a gentle warm up. For all that most of the people in the class were probably retired, there were some suggested variations that were very difficult. The class ran over by about twenty minutes. Whenever I practice under a new instructor, I struggle a little with the cues and tempo. I periodically struggled with this class, but the instructor was very good both at elaborating the cues and providing quiet corrections. I enjoyed that the class was not silent--the instructor kept up an almost constant stream of description and encouragement. The space was airy, with some plants in the corners. If the class had been silent, the construction next door might have been a little disruptive, but it just added a bit of spice to the balance postures. I hope to be able to make it back next time I am in town.

The studio is located on the main floor of the relatively new apartment complex. The staff rotates from the Downtown and West location. Has all the same amenities as the Downtown, but with a kids room available for mommies to also come and sweat! Also, there is PARKING! A major plus here to not have to worry if you will find parking. I love this studio just as much as I love the Downtown one, but this one is conviently located for me and has become my new stomping grounds.

I always feel well supported and looked out for. I have belonged to Harbor Athletic, Anytime Fitness and 24hr Fitness previously and this is a much nicer, holistic, friendly gym for me.

But I, who am disabled so admittedly stammer, have been unable to get them to call me back. I feel really bad leaving this review, and am happy to amend or correct it once I get a callback so that I can begin my exercise routine which I am very excited about beginning because I have seen health improvements in the past from working with a trainer.

Joining Farrell's was the BEST decision I made in 2021!! When I joined the things that stuck out to…read moreme from the owners (yes-- BOTH of the owners were there the day I joined the gym and they get to know each member personally) was that they stressed that this gyn was different. And it is. Not only are these workouts some of the most fun and dynamic 45 minute workouts I've ever done, the community at Farrell's shows that this gym is about much kore than just a physical transformation. The instructors, coaches, owners, members, and challengers create the most supportive environment to help each person reach their own level 10 in a positive and safe way. I can't recommend this place enough!! If you're interested in kickboxing or just want an inclusive, non-judgmental, challenging, safe, and positive fitness environment give Farrell's in Madison a try.

I have had back problems for over 20 years. I checked out the Foundation Training books from the…read morelibrary and tried doing the exercises on my own, but something wasn't quite right. YouTube helped a little, but there is a lot going on in each exercise, and I wanted to make sure I was doing the exercises correctly. So, I went to the Foundation Training website and found Mona's (one of the Studio Melt owners) name - she is one of only two Foundation Training practitioners in the area. Two weeks after taking Foundation Training classes at Melt my back was better. Regular classes have helped it say healthy. There is nothing like it in town, and Mona explains every exercise in great detail, gives constant cues and will come around and correct your form in every class. You buy a class pass and attend as you please. There are other services and classes at Melt too (Yamuna ball rolling for example), but I only do the Foundation Training classes regularly. I tried Yamuna ball rolling once and also liked it. Melt and Mona have been a life saver.

I initially came in looking for Nia, which is a fantastic dance/fitness/non-impact aerobic technique. She is a great Nia teacher! I also stayed for a Body Chisel class which was awesome, unique and just the right amount of challenging. I got a GREAT workout and wish that Melt studio was in my own city. They offer great classes as well as personal training, which seemed very impressive, attentive and excellent. Five stars! I highly recommend!!!
