Love this lair! Dragon's Lair is a place I stumbled on an errand in Mililani after lunch at Rice Box Cafe which is just a couple doors away. Enter the Dragon's Lair and you're sure to be entertained by their inventory of not just comic books (which they really do have quite impressive collection) but all character things in many forms which many I'm clueless about though the staff there are amazing with any questions you many have or if you're looking for a particular item. I was particularly drawn to the mystery boxes of various characters like Tsum Tsum, One Piece, just to name a few though understandably the prices were quite expensive just the the need to know is the whole point of excitement. So much to see as I browsed each area was just a museum with the poster/art on the walls, books and even stickers...this cool lair is comical! Thank you!

We came to visit on Free Comic Book Day! They had a print out of all the comics available and would grab them for you. Everything was very efficient. There's always new blind boxes to take a look at. Sometimes even older series that might not be available in other stores. Same goes for their anime collectibles. Look at everything to make sure you don't miss something. The store is a little small but everything is kept neat and organized. The two ladies working today were super helpful from the free comics to check out. (The Instagram stories they post here are hilarious)

I said it in my check-in and I'll say it again here! So, yes Dragon's Lair is a "comic book" store but it is sooo much more, with collectibles ranging from anime to Star Wars and Tokidoki! Just split my direct deposit. Support small business owners!

I'm looking for Wonder Woman comics for my granddaughter...and other things for myself.

These guys don't honor when you leave phone number and name to text when items come in. I wasted my time and money here. I had planned to purchase certain pricey items. I won't honor them and take my business somewhere else. Short review...your honor is your word. Ciao!

They had me at comics.

Rachie P. thanks for making my day. After reading Jessica Y's review on Gecko Books and Comics' closing (I know you read her's) I knew there were more comic loving guys and gals outside Honolulu and Aiea area. Rachie P. gave me the suggestion to come here. I would come to her for boba ideas but luckily I listen to her on this place. Now I came in on a bad day. It was the day before Thanksgiving 2020 and the plane coming in with the books was way delayed. How delayed? Delayed enough that Choice Comics didn't open on Wednesday and instead opened Thanksgiving day. Everybody else scrambled to open on time. That delayed. I found the place with Apple Maps and since it's in a mall, plenty of parking. And with plenty of parking comes lot of dead ends and one ways. The lot is terribly designed but you're not here to know about stalls you're here for COMICS!!! It's small compared to Other Realms but more roomier then Choice Comics. There is no separate room for role playing games like Westside Comic. This place just sells only books and memorabilia and that's all you need. Luke (cashier) is pretty chill and approachable. He actually remembered my first time there because of all the questions I asked about the set up and loyalty program (they don't have one). So what makes this place stand out above the others? Other Realms gives you sleeves and loyalty points. Choice gives you sleeves and boards. Westside gives you free role playing when you reach a certain cash value. Here they give you 15% discount across the board for comics. I'm not sure if that includes graphic novels and figures. Great another question to Luke. Also this place plays music while shopping. Not elevator music, real old school music. NWA was blaring last time there. Reminds me of Tower Records. I'm not showing my age. Overall four stars. The place is great for grabbing books off the shelf and enjoy the wall art. Talking to some customers, they have a loyal fan base. Shout out to Ramos for being friendly and showing me around the first time. Not quite five because if you are looking for past issues, there's not a huge selection. Ramos buys them all. Now excuse me, I've got some light reading to do. M

Don't let the coffin corner walking fool you if you look and dig hard enough you'll find something to love. As I went for funkos I was suprised to see grails I had ever. Looking for years for at below 85% and change of scalpers out there and this led me to digging further and finding a couple more! The staff are super friendly and I appreciated the discount for Venmo payments as well. The comic selection is also as expansive if not more and I'm sure the same goes there just don't expect a lot of retro since they did mention to me stuff like dark horse Star Wars comics are too hard to find and keep in so I assume other retro ones are the same way. I'd easily return again thanks guys for everything!

Thankfully 808 Collectibles had just what I needed, so I made it into a Sunday afternoon adventure to come in. This is a small shop located in a mall building along Kamehameha in Pearl City. It's across from Pearl Highlands Center, but it's easy to get to from either side of the road. They have limited parking in front shared with a small shop, bar, and a few other businesses. This shop is on the second floor, toward the left. The owner Art (Arthur) was super friendly on the phone and got back to me quickly about what I needed. On arrival he was recommending different comic stories to a customer. There was a steady stream of people coming in, so I assume he has some regular customers. Every inch is filled with comics (new and older ones), Funko Pops!, and various collectibles and statues. Prices are clearly marked; he takes cash, Venmo, and credit. If you're a fan of pop culture and other fun things, this is a worthwhile place to stop. I hope to come in again soon.

Cuteness is definitely found here along with fun stationeries and lots of hair accessories though this location in the Waimalu Plaza has the load of BT21 items I've ever seen in a single shop for its cozy size. Pink Box and N.Cat do share the same business as you see the sign on this store as well but it was nice to visit here as they do have slightly different merchandise from the other Kaneohe and Ala Moana location and with lots of free parking making it an easy stop to shop for various reasons...lol! They got great deals to bundle for multiple item purchases so if you're grabbing one for you grab one for someone and the service is very helpful if you're looking for a particular character or item. Thank you!

So many hair accessories, backpack accessories, stationery & pens, plushies and dolls for little and not-so-little girls! Wide variety of BTS items for everyone! While there, teenagers, tweens, millennials, gen-x-ers alike were browsing. The staff are very friendly and helpful. (I needed translation of something written in Korean.) And they didn't kick me out for taking a ton of photos. I expected to pay a lot for the items I chose, but the prices are very reasonable and some, were downright shockingly low!

Bookoff Pearlridge... what can I say? Cheap books, cheap movies, cheap games, and cheap whatever…read moreelse they sell lol. Sadly we don't have many bookstores on the island, there is of course Barnes and Noble, Bookoff, bookends, and few other stores. After Borders closed, we don't have many places to go to buy brand new books except for Walmart or Target. However, there are many good finds here and a chance to give some used books/media/toys a new home. The staff here are very nice, though of course they don't have a system catalog here. But that's part of the fun, the treasure hunting fun. You never know what you may find. Bookoff also has a buyback counter, where you can sell your used movies, books, etc. but just be aware they are like the old saying where they only offer pennies on the dollar. So you won't make a lot of money selling here. But if you just want to get rid of stuff and make some money, this may be a good option for you.

The owner greeted me right away with that warm, aloha spirit energy. No attitude, no long drawn-out process. She got straight to scanning my old dusty books while I waited, and when she was done, she texted me -- yes, texted me -- to let me know. Walked up, got my receipt, got my quote. Super professional, super smooth. Here's the best part: while I was waiting, I browsed around and found three gifts for my grandchildren that I knew they'd love. So in one trip I freed up a ton of space at home from books that had been taking up way too much room and knocked out some gift shopping. Win-win-win! The whole setup is easy too -- rolled the carts right from my car into the store, no stress. My friend was chillin' in the massage chair outside the whole time, so nobody's time was wasted. I was originally just gonna dump everything at Goodwill. So glad I didn't. I'm already planning to come back with my old DVDs and CDs just sitting my shed in the backyard. If you've got stuff collecting dust at home, bring it here first. You might walk out with cash in your pocket and a smile on your face. Highly recommend. 5/5, no question!

When you're planning to spend time browsing, not having access to a restroom can really affect the experience, and it cut my visit shorter than I expected. She helped my 11-year-old son with the Warhammer tiny models, taking the time to explain everything needed to get started in painting. Her thorough and detailed explanations really made a difference. "Kaitlynn" was incredibly authentic and genuine - it's rare to find such dedication and care in customer service these days. I really appreciate her outstanding work and wanted to applaud her for it.
