My husband loves Pokemon cards and plays competitively online every single day. Myself? I'm more of a "hey this looks pretty!" Kinda collector with great luck. (Or so says the hubby). ToyLynx has a nice hole-in-the/wall sort of location in the Dole building and the staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. This wasn't my husband's first time going - but was mine as we were looking for some of the latest released cards to send to our nephew in Italy. The price isn't marked up insanely like some other places I've visited and didn't break the bank as the price of cards I feel has sky rocketed from when I was small kid. Super cute and really nice staff! Got two ETBs, the very elusive paldean fates and the new shrouded fable. Prices are super duper fair, especially for the new shrouded fable, coming out to $42, with the very hard to find paldean fates being $52. The store associates were so sweet at answering all questions and helping me find what to buy with what prices. Shopping and enjoying the energy of the store was amazing enough! read more

While this place has a lot of stock and some cool, older MTG items, I'm incredibly disappointed in this store. Their prices are wildly inflated above MSRP to the level of internet scalpers, but the worst thing is they're charging customers for Spider-Man Welcome Decks; starter decks they receive for free from WotC, intended to be handed out for free to prospective new players...they're charging $20-$40 a piece for. This is absolutely shameful and disgraceful. This shop should be reported to WotC for selling free products for their own personal gain. They should be ashamed of themselves. read more

Although this place is location-convenient, however I am incredibly displeased with not only their wildly inflated above-MSRP prices of their products, but also with the level of service that they provide and the disrespect that they constantly show to their customers. For some instances, the Spider-Man Welcome decks are supposed to be free and handed out(given freely) to those who are interested in learning the game or of it's different formats. Furthermore, from a company perspective, it is very unacceptable for ANY employee to either talk or treat anyone, employee or not, in a disrespectful or misdemeaning way. If there was a possible no star rating, that's what I would select...but here we are. Don't recommend going here unless you are willing to pay more for their products and deal with workers that have no sense of customer service. Prices for showcased boxes are inflated from msrps, especially new popular releases. Today, my family and I stopped in to possibly purchase 2 different gaming card sets of boxes. Before I got there, a worker told my daughter they were sold out of the new OnePiece boxes. Ok, no problem. They checked out single raw cards instead. When I came into the store and spoke with my daughter, I saw about 3-4 boxes of the specific OP selection that we wanted sitting right on the shelf in back of the counter. We were patient while 2 workers were helping 1 customer. Meanwhile, the line was beginning to build up behind us. After the customer made a selection, one of the workers walked right past us while the other cashed out the sale. I politely tried to get the attention of the employee, who seemed free, just to ask about the product. He looked back towards our direction, blatantly ignored my family and I, and continued to walk to the opposite side of the store. No, "someone will be right with you." Or, "I'll be right with you." Or even an acknowledgment, nothing! The other guy, finished the transaction and continued to assist the next person in back of us. Okidoki, our business is wanted elsewhere. Today in the store it looked like Pokémon but in the near by food court of Dole Cannery we're the Yu-Gi-Oh games. They carry Magic the Gathering and Pokémon cards as well. There's other card games there too (I'm just not familiar with them) Parking can be a little tough since it's connected with the Costco parking but if you find a spot the location of the store is easily accessible. We come here often and reference their website for information and product availability or selling price. I had a hard time locating the store using the gps but figured it out it is best to park by the Costco side then walk in. The store is well stocked selling to customers locally and online. You can find many different accessories to elevate your game play and just proctect and care for them preserving their long term value. Playing mats, deck protectors and sleeves, various sided dice and counters, singles, boosters, starter decks, etc. Jason was very informative telling us what would be good to keep, what's not and what is best to get and why. He assisted us to register as players eligible to play in sanctioned national tournaments. He encouraged us to participate in their Magic nights for fun. Those nights they would use some of the money collected to provide pizza to everyone participating. Haven't seen him lately. Not to worry. Tiffany has filled the niche nicely. She's sweet and knows what you need once she gets to know you. Not pushy to get the sales, she really wants to help you trying hard to do so. There are constantly many players coming and going playing different games. It can be intimidating some times but if you do, I think you will find many are helpful. The back counter is the entirety of the store which separates the employees and the rare/valuable merchandise from the shelves and open tables along the windows. The store has room for a few small groups or pairs of players on the off nights/days. For tournament and big event play, Toylynx reserves the atrium area inside the mall at the escalators to hold more people. On weekends, you'll often see a makeshift game store counter/MC stand with all the players under the skylights. The times I've gone to browser, there's lots of laughter, pizza, and fun. The store is filled with posters, hobby boxes of unopened card packs, and binders filled with loose single cards. I've never had a bad experience, and all the staff try their best to accommodate each and every customer either by offering services or trying their best to deliver product no matter what. They always try to innovate their branding and it makes me feel comfortable trusting them as my primary TCG store. After COVID, I noticed an employee Daniel who I was not familiar with but they did an excellent job in accommodating my requests and knew exactly what I was looking for and explained in detail what I was purchasing and any promotions going on with it. Too bad because it seemed like there's a lot of interesting stuff. Went to a collector's shop in Pearl City called AllKindStuff and bought plenty of Pokemon cards. You folks go ahead and continue living in fear after most of us have been done with masks. No, for real. Make sure you have your mask for the next 50+ years just to be safe. Thursday April 16, 2015 While exploring The Dole Cannery I came across a shop that had two or three tables set up with a bunch of individuals sitting down. I walked into the shop and noticed that these individuals were trading cards. I walked towards the glass display and noticed MAGIC. Is it a game? Does it have to do with sorcery? What's the age limit to play the games? Only a true fanatic of fantasy cards would know what MAGIC is all about. I am so out of the loop when it comes to games. The shop had a lot of fantasy board games. There were tons of boxes stacked on top of the cabinets. The shop looked almost like a storage container with the exception of the entrance where the customers were sitting down and trading cards. I also noticed that there were different colors of dice to be sold separately and there were poker chips to be sold as well. Since I was getting thirsty i glanced around the shop and noticed a refrigerator that had Coke products for sale. I bought myself a 20oz Sprite to drink $1.75 no tax. After I purchased my drink I walked back outside and noticed the posters on the windows. They have weekly tournaments or monthly tournaments. This shop is more for the geeks who love to play games. So I came in earlier in the day and a line started to form. Why? Well apparently the person at the counter felt the need to count EVERY single dime that was brought in by a customer that looked like it was rolled by a bank. Granted that people usually get paid by the hour but coming from a customer service background it is so inefficient what this worker was doing. I know I know its summer and I really wasn't expecting this place to be busy but there was only two people working the counter. I just don't know if there was a need to be wasting time in counting dimes when there is other customers that needed to be helped. Other than that, I do love the establishment. Great prices and selections on cards. Even the more obscure CCGs out there. It's a really chill atmosphere but I can already see that there really was no need to hustle with customers. For the most part just be sure to come in with either card or bills or something easier to count. I swear the dimes took close to 20 minutes to count. read more

I've been in here a few times. Most recently, I brought my man in for Pokemon cards. ToyLynx is located in the Dole Cannery mall across the parking lot from Costco Iwilei. The store itself is very spacious. Not only is ToyLynx a store, but they also host tournaments for certain card games. As you enter the store, you immediately see rows of tables with chairs around them. They also sell snacks and bottled/canned beverages, so that makes it the perfect hangout for casual card gamers as well. Anyhow, when we were here, there weren't any tournaments going on, but tables were full of people playing various games like Magic: The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, etc... The associates at the counter were busy sorting cards, yet still were friendly and helpful. The prices of most of the Pokemon card booster packs were only $2.99 (a tiny bit cheaper than some other places). They also sell some vintage booster packs (think original booster packs from the early 90's) which do cost a pretty penny. We ended up choosing a few packs. My man ended up very happy because he pulled a mythical rare holographic card! read more

So i said im just browsing. Not even 5 min a man approached me as if im gonna do something like steal.. for real like i gon steal pokemon cards for a sick boy! And rudely he said store closed. Ok i understand now store is closed. But see the door was open, thats why i walked in. I politely said ok i didnt know and man wasnt very kind or even bother to ask what im looking for. All i got was very unkind gestures. Im not trying to ruin any business, but i do want some kindness. I will never again want to come here..... all due to my first visit. They are my favorite place on island to get Pokémon cards and booster packs. They have dice and boxes to store cards too. I've gone to a tournament and the staff are super friendly and helpful whether it is helping my husband and I understand the rules or finding what we're looking for. It is a little bit of a drive and parking kind of sucks, but it is well worth it and they have such an amazing selection of older cards and new stuff too. They have tables you can play on in the store and in the food court they have tournaments on weekends. They host tournaments for a bunch of card games, and offer prizes as well. The employees are very nice and polite, will ask you for great deals and questions if you have. Toylynx isn't very spacious compared to Da Plantes or Durdle Zone, but the store is located near Costco, Subway, and other restaurants. This means...if your hungry for restaurant foods, its around you! Super convenient in the Dole Cannery Shoping area and shared the same parking lot as Costco. Entrance is located near the beginning of the parking lot and towards the end of the shopping complex near Uniforms Hawaii. They have Pokemon cards ranging from $2.95-$7/pack and starter packs from $10 and up. They also sell cards individually if u want. There are tables and chairs if you want to do a Pokemon battle with a friend or stranger. I saw a couple of pairs of people doing a battle. Good place to get all different variety of Pokemon cards and priced according to the pack. read more

I've been here before and not had a high or low opinion- just neutral. Today, I don't want to say it is different, just better. First up, in a store that we normally would see a slobbish, white, pimpled- faced, fat, nerd just like in the Simpsons but instead was a pretty young local Asian girl that was completely helpful and attentive. I have no idea what she did to all of the boys to make them sit playing their games at the tables instead of fawning over her incessantly but it worked. No one seemed to pay any attention to her at all. Inside were a good 30 guys playing magic or a similar card game. I will say this- on the weekends there are a good 30 ish tables full of mostly boys playing in competitions different card games- complete with table set ups and decks full in hands ready to play and keep going til the win or the clock runs out which is placed nearer to Subway usually. If I could, with the large lottery winnings I make in my dreams, I too would build a mall like Dole that has a huge open area that is sparsely traveled so that many less intense events could take place like card games. It is a great location- easy parking by costco and so under used. They used to have more toys and more games- now it seems they have focused on what it is that they have the competitions... so they really are focusing in on what they want to do. read more

Ever since Toy's N Joy's closed I've been looking for a good spot for some old school nostalgia. One of my friends told me to check this store near Dole Cannery out, so I decided to drive by on my lunch break. This is my review.... For me personally it was kind of a let down. I went there expecting to see a different variety of anime/manga action figures but it appeared they only specialized in playing cards. While I won't penalize them for not having old school action figures, it would make logical sense for them to carry those things based on their name (Toylynx). I'm sure all the regulars were wondering if I was some type of lawyer when I walked in based on the amount of stares I was given. They have tables set up everywhere for annual card tournaments (Yugioh, magic, etc...) and literally walls and walls of cards. If I went there looking for booster decks or playing cards I probably would have never left! I wasn't helped or greeted when I approached the counter but there were pretty busy so no reason to penalize. If I am ever in the market to get back into playing cards I'm sure this would be the first place to visit. However if you're looking for figurines or other miscellaneous items then keep on searching. read more

If youre a fan of role playing games, this is the place to go. I walked in and there were stacks and stacks of cards all over the place. There are tables as you enter which you can use to look at your cards. They probably use this part for card tournaments and stuff. I went in just to see what kind of cards they have available and its totally different from when I was a kid. I guess Magic is still big these days because there was a lot of it! As far as pricing, not really sure because I dont know what to compare it with. But if my kids ever do want cards, id probably send them over to Toylynx to check it out! read more
