The tech arrived and was very professional and arrived at a timely manner as he stated he would! He asked me all the needed questions and investigated the issue prior to completed the task. Once completed he provided me with some helpful tips and suggestions on what product I should purchase to minimize my issue for the future. The scheduling was prompt and the receptionist was kind... but save your money! $175, no relief. Will now be seeking a better service provider. My toilet has been backing up frequently. When flushing, the water sometime rises to the rim, draining slowly until the bowl is completely empty. By the time The Drain Medics arrived, the toilet was plunged & water levels back to normal. So, the technician tested the toilet by flushing and using a toilet auger, but pulled back nothing. After, I was told I simply need a larger tank for a stronger flush. However, when the toilet backed up again the next night, a friend came to plunge it and then quickly tested the technician's theory by pouring clean water straight into the bowl. We discovered that, regardless of flush, there is clearly a blockage in the drain as the water still emptied from the bowl very slowly. I called The Drain Medics again & was told that, though this shows the tech's assessment was lacking, it is not their regular practice to seek multiple solutions nor to run more logical & comprehensive tests. For a return visit, they would charge an entirely new service fee. & Unless you are toilet savvy enough to challenge their assessment on the spot or to know exactly where, and how, to look deeper for yourself (which, if you were, I'd imagine you wouldn't much need them in the first place..), I wouldn't recommend this business. Without the confidence that they will use any due diligence, and with the knowledge that they do not stand by the quality or integrity of their work, I will not be using their "services" further and cannot recommend wasting money here. read more

Absolutely awful experience. We hired them to unclog a large drain on our property. We were very clear about the size of the pipe and the location, and even pointed it out to the technician when he arrived. The technician, Mike, was only equipped with a 60' pipe snake that was inadequate for such a large pipe. He then proceeded to snake a different, smaller pipe - purely on a hunch - and left without confirming whether or not he had actually cleared anything. He even told us to go to Home Depot and buy equipment so that we could finish the job ourselves! The customer service agent was rude and refused to reduce the charges for lack of service given that Mike never touched the clogged drain that we called about. She offered to send another technician out with the same inadequate equipment if we were willing to pay them full price for a second service call. She claimed it was not the technician's job to make sure he had cleared our pipes and refused to let me speak with the owner. She claims he is family and will side with her over me so it doesn't matter anyway. read more

I see from some of the other reviews that people have had both good and bad experiences with Drain Medics. All I can tell you is that this was the 3rd time I've called them for slow drains, and each time I've been completely satisfied with every aspect of the work. Previously, I had a slow bathroom drain, and two years ago a slow kitchen drain. It was the kitchen again this time. After attempting to fix the problem myself, first with hot water and Dawn detergent, then using a hand snaking tool, at 7:15 AM this morning I called and left a message with Drain Medics. Within a half hour someone called back and I was able to make an appointment for 10 AM today. At 8:30 Ken called and said he and Tony would be at my house in about 25 minutes. They were. Ken was the lead person, Tony was his trainee. After checking out the slow draining kitchen sink they went down to my basement and the drain pipe below. It had an access point they used to feed in 40+ feet of cable. The cause of the slow drain was sludge and required two runs with the cable. After that the sink drained properly. The two men cleaned up after the job and I was charged the flat fee of $75 as advertised. I am still satisfied with Drain Medics and will continue to call them in the future as needed. read more

I called drain medics to come out and unclog my drain a man showed up in a beat up black mini van with a white under shirt tank top covered in tattoos he from the get go he was on phone with owner askin what to do he ran snake down drain it came out another he said it would have to come in from outside after looking for my clean out for 3 min he said it needed to be located but they couldn't come out till next Tuesday this is from day after I waited from Tuesday with stopped up sewer. Then asked how am I going to pay for what he didn't do I asked how much he said 75.00 I then gave him my credit card he called numbers in to dispatch and told her 80.00 I said you said 75.00 he said there is a 5.00 charge to pay other then cash . Had two of their service techs come out last night to fix a clog. Right off the bat they were 1.5 hours late, but I could forgive that if they unclogged the drain. This became problematic later on because I left work early to meet them there at the agreed-upon time. After they snaked the main some water ran through, but immediately after they left the floor drain backed up. Again. I called early this morning, as they didn't leave until after 7 the night before, and tried to arrange someone to come out today. The times they wanted to come out weren't conducive with my schedule, but they agreed to come out after 5 for 125$ per hour. No thanks. So in review, they were late, didn't unclog my drain, and wanted to charge me significantly more to fix what they didn't do the night prior. read more

I had a clogged sewer drain and it backed up all in my laundry room...disgusting water everywhere. My brother is a plumber and he worked on my drain for three hours and got so frustrated that he left with my sewer still clogged up. So I found Al (Drain Medics) on Craigslist, and he was the cheapest guy, so I called him. He was in and out in a hour, got the sewer drained unclogged and charged me $50.00. Do not use! Advertise tech will come in company vehicle. Wrong. Advertise $75 flat fee. When I called on Friday, they said they could come on Saturday or Sunday. I specified that it was a single story roof access job and would that still be $75? She said yes and it would have to be on Saturday. (Presumably the Sunday tech doesn't do roofs.) The tech shows up, well within the service window I was quoted, but says that that it will be $125, $50 for going on the roof. I said no, I had specifically asked about that. The tech said he would have to call in. In less than 60 seconds he claimed to have exchanged texts with someone saying it would be $125. I was charged with another camera fee, only to dig up the basement floor and realize that they gave me the wrong location. I called Drain Medics to check out my gutter and foundation drains. They sent a tech who started cleaning out the sewer instead! When I told him that wasn't why he was at my house, he tried to mansplain to me what a sewer line is! Then he told me he couldn't do what he was sent to do. I called BONNIE, who was the one who suggested my problem was the gutter drain, but she claimed "I said yesterday we really don't know anything about drains." Literally the opposite of what she claimed the day before. The list of incompetencies only lengthens from there. But the thing that has me writing this review today? Today our basement flooded because their tech JAMES unplugged our sump pump and didn't plug it back in! And it rained last night! The entire basement is full of standing water. I used this company several times and I didn't have this kind of a problem before except for them constantly running late. I think like somebody mentioned it depends on a technician. I had someone coming yesterday and today. I believe his name was Steve. I had a problem with a sink in the kitchen. He came on Thursday and looked on the pipes saying that I had a clog pretty deep and he will have to break a seal and declog it in the basement. Though, I didn't like this idea and pointed him out that it isn't sotheng I may want to do, he stated that I will be charged for a visit 100 dol anyway. I wonder why I should pay 100 dol for someone just looking on my pipes for 5 minutes. In anyway he said that he needs a cap and he will get it in the nearest store. Then he was on a phone with somebody and ended up saying that he will return tomorrow 8 am to noon. It didn't happen. I was calling them and waiting up to 12.30 pm. I had to call their office and I was told of course that he is running late. Then he came and started on working on my pipe. I ended up with a fragile plastic cap on my pipe with some suspecious thin sealant around it. I personally saw it was leaking before he put a sealant arpund it. Well, I have to watch it 30 days. If it leaks I will complain to FCC and BBB. The quality is horrible and I hated to be threaten to pay 100 dol for just coming and looking on the pipes. I will not use this company again. read more

Called to have my kitchen sink unclogged. The technician showed up on time but with less than a professional appearance and with less than impressive equipment. The plumbing from the kitchen sink and bathroom sink were connected so the tech attempted to snake the line from both areas as the clog was stubborn. Unfortunately, while testing the drain on the kitchen side he left the plumbing on the bathroom side open and flooded the cabinet. Later, he tested the bathroom side leaving the kitchen plumbing open and flooded the kitchen cabinet. Ultimately,the technician was not able to unclog the drain and announced bad news. He stated that we had rust in our pipes and that we would need a section of our pipe replaced by a plumber. So we paid the $75 dollars for nothing and after the tech left we found that a piece of our drain pipe had been damaged. We immediately called the company and we were reminded that the work carries no warranty, however, they reluctantly sent the tech back to repair the leak. He made a a shoddy repair and left. The same day we were able the have a professional plumbing service come. They brought professional equipment and promptly unclogged the drain. No pipe replacement needed. . read more

We called Drain Medics on 8-5-17 because we had sewage backing up in our basement. Ken came out and was on the premises approximately 2 hours. He repeatedly noted that he did not have the right auger bits to use (some were too small some were too big) and seemed very unsure of himself. He then told us it was an MSD issue and gave us the number of the Ferguson lateral program as well. MSD came out that night and flushed their lines and said their lines were clear. I had to wait until Monday to talk to the Ferguson lateral line program (while sewage continued to back up all weekend). They informed me I had to get the line videotaped (something Ken never mentioned). I called back Drain Medic on 8-7-17 in the morning and was told that I would receive a call back after the dispatcher talked to the technician to find out what else could be done. I never received a return call. On 8-8-17 two different sewer companies came out, Roto-Rooter and another local company. They both independently came to the same conclusion within minutes and noted that Ken did not even approach the issue correctly. I am unsure if this is a training issue, but I don't know why a main sewer line block was attempted to be cleared through the stack and floor drain when there is an obvious 6 inch clean out in the front yard that was never accessed? Neither of the other companies were intending on going through the stack at all, because both noted it was unnecessary. The company that we chose to fix the problem, had the issue cleared within 30 minutes- emptied the washing machine 3 times, ran the tub 5 minutes, no more back up. Called Drain Medics back, they said for an additional $125 they would have "located our line", which the two other companies did in about 10 seconds, because it is a big 6 inch clay pipe sticking out of our yard. We just had them come again when we had a clogged sewer drain which backed up into the basement laundry room. I called for the 75 dollar drain opening. It was actually 100 because the guy wanted to get on the roof. So they unclogged a drain but then the clog traveled down and got stuck in the main outside. I called and they said since it's a different spot then it's not covered under warranty. Or we can charge you 75 more dollars to come see if it is under warranty. What a joke of a company. A guy name "Tony" showed up. Told me my sewer line was clogged and explained to me it would cost an extra $50 for him to go on the roof to unclog it. Ok I agreed. He kept checking to make sure the standing water was draining. He asked if he could run my showers and faucets to make sure everything was ok. I started to hear water hitting my basement floor and saw water spaying from one of my pipes. I went up stairs and my kitchen floor was flooded with water bcuz he had the stopper in my kitchen sink and the sink overflowed through the floor and down to the basement. Tony left me with a mess to clean up and left with money in his pocket. I even told him I recently had knee surgery but clearly he didn't care. It was his mess and my problem i guess. Received fantastic service from Drain Medics! They were on time, clean, and courteous. They charged me an affordable flat rate. The flat rate had me concerned at first because when they quoted me 75.00 to clear the blockage in my kitchen sink, I know I've paid significantly more in the past, but they guaranteed me that the only way they would charge more was if they had to get on the roof and that would only be another 25.00. They came out, cleared the blockage from inside the house and charged me 75.00. I'll never go back to the hourly rate guys again.! read more

I called because I had issues with my bathroom sink and tub not draining properly. My appointment was 5pm. I called them at 5:29 to verify if someone was still coming out, I was advised they were running behind and someone would call before they came. The person never called and showed up over an hour late. The technician "attempted" to snake my tub out with 2 different augers and no success. He never attempted to snake out my sink, at all. The technician stated that whatever was clogging my tub was something white and plastic,come to find out the white and plastic piece that he was able to pull up was a piece of my drain that he broke. I ended up paying $75 for absolutely nothing. The problem was worse after he left. I called on Saturday afternoon and they said they could someone out on Sunday at 10 A.M. Scott showed up right on time. I can't tell you how thrilled I was to get such fast service on December 24th, no less! Scott did an excellent job cleaning out the main drain and he made sure that everything was draining well before he left. He did the quality job that my FORMER drain company used to do years ago (but not anymore) for $65 MORE than Drain Medics charges. I'm sold! read more

Horrible experience . They came to our home to clean clean our outside drain for what supposed to be a 79 dollar 15 minute job . After three hours the technician , and i use that term loosely , got his tool stuck in our drain . He said that's it I'm done here and left the drain cleaning tool hanging out of the drain and declared it stuck . He then said to my wife you signed the work order which says if this happens we are not responsible . He never gave her the copy of the worker order . He just got in his truck and drove away. We then called a real plumber out which had to dig up a portion of our driveway to get the coil out . Long story short drain medic would not take my wife's call outside of the first time saying they are not responsible . We spent 3200 to get their tool unstuck and dug up our driveway which will cost additional 2 - 3 k to resurface . So much for the simple 79 dollar job . What a nightmare of a company that could care less . Save your money and hire a real plumbing company to begin with , that will at least act like they care and not run away . Absolutely awful customer service. "tech" comes in a gets water all over the floor. Caused my paint to bubble, after sitting there for hours until I discovered it. Also got the treadmill wet as well. Pure laziness not to take a towel and clean up after yourself. I call and let them know this is unacceptable. First the guy says they will come take care of it. Then he texts and says it will be double if I want them to clean up after themselves! I was a returning customer! Do yourself a favor and call a professional company. Certainly not worth the hassle. TERRIBLE is too good a word for this operation. Mike N. proved completely incompetent, and a shyster with inadequate equipment, by not clearing a drain at the front clean out where a tree root blocking the line was less than 10" in and took the subsequent company I hired all of 7 minutes to clear. But Mike had a big story about "misaligned pipes" which the subsequent company confirmed was not so after a complete camera inspection. Drain (Your Wallet) Medics refused to honor their warranty (nullifying their ONLY selling point) when the problem was not initially resolved and another back up of the main drain occurred two weeks post initial unresolved service. Rude and dismissive of any and all complaints on the phone, they will ignore all attempts at restitution as well. Absolutely worthless. read more

It took my wife and me over 12 years to get a house of our own. We called Drain Medic out to come fix a slow draining clog.They showed up with less than professional equipment, basically a hand drill with a long line attached to it. Long story short within less than 7 minutes the worker collapsed my drain pipe, and now when I run my washer mud comes pouring up from the floor drain... Immediately the worker started to deny responsibility for what he did... When I called to complain the lady on the other line would not let you speak to any head management, refused to tell me her name, and refused to accept responsibility for their faulty work. For over a month now me and my wife live in constant fear of complete pipe failure. The moment I wake up it's on my mind and it troubles me every morning, and times throughout the day. The fear that our home may be taken away by greedy people who do not care about their customers in the least or the troubles they may have gone through. For over 2 years now I have had a disabled shoulder even though I'm not collecting disability, and my wife is the only one working full time. The location of this fix, and the damage incurred is way beyond what we can afford. Making matters worse we lost our mom this same month, and we've had funeral expenses, and other troubles that Sir mounted this. Our only hope is God will help us through this in some way as it is inevitable now we will run into some huge problems in the possible near future. I am writing this to warn anybody if you are considering this company don't put yourself in the position that me and my wife are in least with all your other troubles you end up having a anxiety problem that slowly everyday strips away your peace, and joy, and even your faith in everyday people. read more

Drain Medic came to my house yesterday, (two hours late), would not come in the house, start snaking in the front yard. We have had this property for some time, we know this property, not the first time this has happeded. My husband suggested to him coming inside the house, snaking the floor drain in the basement. The clog was from the basement drain after the washing machine water drained out, and after water was run in the sink. The plumber refused to come in the house even just to see what was going on. He did not unstop anything. Instead, he advised my husband there was a break in the line, collected the $75.00 and left. When my husband called the office to complain, they first said the plumber would come back at no charge. 30 minutes before he was scheduled to return, the office called back and said the plumber said he ran the snake as far as it would go, and if he returned, we would have to pay another $75.00. i cannot attest to their actual work but I can say that no one showed up for my 5:00 appointment; nor did anyone bother to call me until 2 1/2 hours later to tell me they got hung up on a previous appointment. I 100% understand jobs can last longer than expected however, a two minute phone call to me would have been nice. I had to leave work an hour early (which I have to make up by not taking a lunch sometime this week) for this appointment, all for nothing.
