They wanted 1/2 the day of the estimate, $850. The day of the repair, 2 techs were in and out in 45 mins. and no need to open wall. I paid the next 1/2 of $850. But I called Norm, the owner to advise him that $1,700 for a 45-min. job to replace a tub spout and waste & overflow was excessive and unethical! After many phone calls , Norm told me he would be refunding the second $850. However, it's been a week and I still haven't received the refund. Use caution if hiring Troutwine Plumbing. The job was done on May 28th. 2026 and on June 8, 2026, I finally received a partial refund . Issue resolved.

We had a clogged bathroom drain and so I searched for a plumber thinking Sketchley was a commercial plumber. I just didn't feel right about the company that came out not to mention they spent an hour trying to clear the drain then called back up so two vans and two guys spent a lengthy time on the drain with no luck. They then proceeded to tell me they needed to go through the vent in the roof and if that didn't work they would have to cut the drywall and replace pipes in the wall. They quoted me $950 just to try the roof vent. So because I didn't have a good feeling about the whole thing I called Sketchley & Mason to run it by them for maybe an option. To my surprise they told me they also do residential work. Long story short Jeff who I have seen many times at my work came over and had the sink draining just fine in no time at all for under $150. And he is such a nice guy, I really can't say enough about him. His company has been doing plumbing for over 70 yrs.....They are one of the last "Honest" and really good plumbers around in my opinion. Having invited five professional plumbers to my house in order to do a take off and submit a proposal to me for the entire plumbing of my garage conversion. I tried to speak to someone and get them to sharped their numbers but the attitude was not acceptable for respectable businessmen. Not only was their communication poor, I found their price to be almost outrageous. You have competitive pricing and luckily we have received more complete bids with less than half the cost. I chose to go with a with licensed C-36 that's been in the business for 30+ years & 15 year guarantee. Word of the wise, invite several trades to your project at the same time. Get these guys to bid more competitively and hold them accountable for price gouging. I'm giving two stars only because I actually received a bid. Not complete or detailed mind you. We needed someone good to get here quickly and find the source of the leak. We called JC Plumbing based on their great Yelp reviews - Julio called back immediately and said they could be out within the hour. They kept their promise: Julio & Cesar arrived on time and explained their method and cost. We agreed, they proceeded (removing some Sheetrock, filling the shower pan with water, watching for source) and they determined that the shower pan construction ("hot mop") had failed. Although JC doesn't reconstruct hot mop shower pans, they gave us exactly what we needed today: great service, quick response, methodical work and the definitive source of the problem. We now know what to do for our next step. By the way, another plumbing company that we contacted (before calling JC) said that their first move would be breaking up the concrete slab to discover the leak. Thank goodness we hesitated on that other company and called JC Plumbing - we saved ourselves a world of hurt!

I got a clogged kitchen drain and I googled for a Plummer company on July26th, I saw 50$ ad for…read morekitchen drain cleaning and called them, one person showed up and he told me it's going to be 50$ only if you have a clean-out under your sink and if you don't it's gonna be 220$!, I happen to have a clean-out under my sink BUT he was not able to open it and he told me we need to access by opening the plastic pipes under the sink and I told him I can do it for you and he said I need to take pictures and tell the company that I am doing it and you need to pay the 220$, which I did, he opened it and tried to unclog with the snake which did not work and he said we need to water jet it and it's gonna be around 1200$, I told him please fasten everything and leave it in previous status but he was not able to, he spend about 2 hours and he left me with a leak in my kitchen which wasn't there and of course the main issue was there too. They called me to ask about my satisfaction and I told them the story, they connected me to the manager, her name is Ashley, I asked Ashley for a refund, she said we can call him to come back to you and fix the leak(and of course I didn't want to because that was not my major problem), she agreed to issue a refund of 120$ !(which I don't know why) and I agreed(which I don't why) and it is more than two months that I am calling their office at least twice a week most of the time Ashley is busy and won't talk to me and they keep saying that it is approved and we will send it to you but they wont, best part of it is I went to Home Depot, bought a Hair and Grease product and problem was solved in 15 minutes. This type of management and customer service is really strange to me haven't seen something like this before! Lack of Transparency - Would Not Recommend…read more I had a disappointing experience with T Top Plumbing and would not recommend them. An outside leak was investigated to determine whether it was the HOA's responsibility. The leak detection visit was arranged through the HOA, and I never consented to hiring T Top Plumbing for myself. Very little was done during the visit, yet I was later told I had to reimburse the company once the leak was deemed homeowner responsibility. I later learned the leak detection company used charges significantly less than what I was billed, with the difference attributed to a "dispatch" fee that was never disclosed or approved. The invoice itself states that I declined further locating and marking once responsibility was determined. If I declined continued service once responsibility was determined, it is unreasonable to bill me for services I neither requested nor authorized. Homeowners should be cautious and get everything in writing before allowing any involvement from this company.
