Very difficult situation on bath remodel. Project on bath was started after 5 weeks with supposedly all items at hand. DKB requested payment for delivery of items. Believed request and paid final payment. Some were still on a broken down truck in Pittsburg. Since they were standard Delta shower shelving I was able to easily locate on line. Finally DKB produced shelving. Then the shower door was improperly installed. Installer was extremely unhappy to return. Was insulting and rude. Could not be bothered to adjust hinges, put on sweep and gasket. Door so tight handle came loose. Gave up on DKB and had issues corrected by local company. DKB Show room is old and outdated. It may be that Show rooms are old fashion and no longer viable. Best to buy on line and assure product delivered. DKB was recommended by Construction company but should have read reviews. This may have been a good company historically but this industry has changed dramatically and DKB has not. read more

I stopped by here on a whim one day as I was coming back from Lowes pricing out cabinets and counter tops. We had met with Tanya who was fabulous and provided us with a quick mock up. Long story short, for unknown reasons Tanya up and left (in hind sight, I can't blame her). So we were left with Nelson, the owner of the company. We met with Nelson and he was rather arrogant and pushy. To the point that my wife was shocked I didn't walk out of the consultation. He really had a "I know better than you" kind of attitude and didn't want to or lacked the mental capacity to understand that we were designing this around OUR needs and not his needs or his ideas on what resale would be. Bottom line is that he really didn't listen and call me shocked but he never followed through on providing us a quote for the pricing. Not of the cabinets we selected, not for the countertop we selected. Nothing. I even followed up with an email about not receiving the quote and again nothing. Apparently your time and desire to spend money in this economy mean nothing to Nelson. I would never recommend this company to anyone based on this terrible level of customer service. Sure I may not have been the big kitchen payday he was dreaming of, but I am a vocal critic of both good and bad service. Nelson Lee should be ashamed of how he runs this business. It's sad when big box retailers have better service and care more than the local guy. **Edit: After leaving this very honest review, Nelson decided he would finally respond to my emails and told me to "Get a new hobby" because I have 104 Yelp reviews. Short version: The worst experience imaginable. Nelson Lee lacks any attention to detail and is deceptive and abusive to both his employees and customers. Steer well away from this company. The long version: Based on the recommendation of a friend, we had high hopes for Nelson Lee at the inappropriately named "Dream Kitchens" but our experience ultimately was one of the worst that my wife and I have ever had with a contractor. Nelson Lee misrepresents his company as being able to complete the highest end custom kitchen renovations but in reality, he is just a guy who can order cabinets with a loose association to a revolving cast of subcontractors who vary significantly in skill and attention to detail. Many of the pictures on his website it turns out are actually not kitchens that he did work on. A search of the Omega Cabinetry website does not list him as an authorized dealer. He is not a BBB accredited member. I wish we had known all this. The red flags started on day one when plumbers and electricians showed up with no plans or idea what the new layout was. That's when my 2.5 months of full-time project management on our kitchen began, because it is clear that Nelson showed little interest in details. In week two when the cabinets were delivered it was discovered that Nelson had measured one wall incorrectly by 7 inches and placed our kitchen sliding door in the plans off by about as much. This led to base and upper cabinets that were too narrow on 2 of the three walls. Unfortunately for Nelson, I work at home and his employees were fond of using speakerphone to communicate to him the dimensional errors. They were instructed to "just put in blank spacers and filler" to make up the dimensional shortcomings and that "the homeowner will never notice" When we confronted Nelson about this he became verbally abusive to his employees, instructed them not to interact with my wife or I, then terminated one installer who was honest with us about the errors. It took many weeks to get Nelson to finally reorder the cabinets. The replacements came with unfinished ends that had been obviously spray-painted in the back room at Dream Kitchens to save Nelson a few bucks. When installing the replacements took longer than the day or two that he had budgeted, Nelson Lee accused the carpenter, who was trying to do things properly, of conspiring with us to drive up costs (!?) and then terminated him as well. Ultimately, it became clear to us that Nelson Lee is ill-suited to the proper care and attention that a six-figure kitchen project requires, and he had no intention of completing the work to a reasonable standard. We terminated our involvement with him and hired a carpenter to complete the work. Despite paying Nelson Lee $72,874 for cabinets, sinks and countertops months ago, he has "reallocated" those funds to a 'slush-fund' invoice of misc install costs and is claiming we still owe for the countertops and sinks. My wife and I are looking forward to our day in court with Nelson, as are his former employees who will provide testimony on our behalf. We've also incurred another $10,000 in costs to complete the kitchen. Our project began on January 5th after I had removed the old kitchen and set everything up perfectly for a quick and easy install. We did not have a working kitchen with a stove until April 30th. That's four months. From our interaction with his former employees and other subs it became evident that he has had many unhappy customers in the past. Run his name though Better Business Bureau. Read the real Google and Yelp reviews. Ask yourself "How can Dream Kitchens have been in business so long and have so few detailed online reviews?" Most importantly, don't repeat our bad experience with Nelson Lee. read more

Was a waste of time trying to work with this store. I don't think they want to be bothered with doing business because they won't deliver a quote. I don't know how they even make money. Probably through contractors maybe, because they don't know how to deal with customers directly. Nelson was incredibly unhelpful and frankly, condescending. Rather than going into their showroom I called to book an appointment for an estimate. I thought it was interesting that an actual person doesn't answer the phone and that you have to dial an extension to reach someone, so I dialed the first one mentioned on the recording. I spoke to a gentleman, at length, about my project and made an appointment for someone to come out to my home and give me an estimate. The day came and no one showed up. I called, choosing another extension from those listed, and spoke to a woman who said there was no record of the appointment. She told me that the owner would call me in a couple of days to schedule another appointment. That never happened. I'll take my business elsewhere. If I can't get a hold of anyone now, I can only imagine the trouble I'd have if I were to have them do the job. read more
