Jeannie's is a really lovely little Salon. She's got a very Spa-like Courtyard that is just gorgeous and a her bespoke shop is quite lush. She got my Hubs in and out fast, which was nice, and offered us some local advice, which was appreciated. She's really a nice gal and if I needed my hair did, I'd definitely consider her... Unfortunately, I can't give 5 stars because my hubs was not impressed with his cut. And upon getting home we realized it was a bit uneven. Now, if he'd spoken up there I'm sure she would have and could have fixed it, but, he didn't. My stylist, Avery, who was amazing by the way, started off with a lavender shoulder and neck massage. Then when washing my hair, she also gave a scalp massage. It was so relaxing and all the stress from being a mom just melted away. I got several inches cut off my hair and Avery was super great about communicating the whole way through the process to make sure I got the cut I was looking for. She had a warm, friendly personality that made you feel right at home and comfortable right away. The salon itself is very cute and clean. Overall, it was just a great experience and 100% would recommend to anyone in the Shelby Co. area.

Shanna reached out via text to get me scheduled- I was going to see Kaitlyn. Fast forward to my appointment, I was offered a beverage after I was seated (Kombucha... yum.. yes please!) and was greeted by Kaitlyn. We talked a bit about what I had been doing to my hair-- color, products used, etc-- and I showed her a few pictures of what I was wanting to achieve. She told me what her plans were and confirmed with me that everything sounded good. She quoted me a price before starting (which is always nice.. no one likes a surprise bill at the end). The whole experience was relaxing and just what I've needed. Kaitlyn cut my hair-- taking just the right amount off- and styled it in loose waves. I was thrilled with the outcome. She really exceeded my expectations and I left feeling beautiful. If you are looking for a new stylist, you should check out Kaitlyn! For those that think the pricing is too high...you can get cheap and you can get great results... but typically those two things don't come together. I decided to try a different hair salon than the one I have gone to for more years than I can…read morecount. My stylist no longer cuts hair and I had tried one of the other stylists last August. The haircut was mediocre at best. After reading the single Yelp review and many other reviews I decided to try Inspirations Salon in Shelbyville. When I called I indicated I wanted a wet cut with an easy to maintain wash and wear style. The person that had answered the phone recommended Nikki. It was a breeze to book the appointment for a convenient time. I also inquired how much I should expect to pay for the requested wet cut. The answer was $30. which seemed reasonable. On the day of my appointment I arrived a few minutes early. One employee came to the front desk and indicated Nikki was finishing up the appointment before me. I patiently waited about 20 minutes into my scheduled appointment time. When she was done Nikki came forward and escorted me back to her station. She seemed a little unknowledgeable on what I had booked. "Do you want a shampoo?" My reply "yes". I then produced a magazine picture with the general haircut I was looking for and told Nikki it needed to be an easy wash and wear cut. The haircut itself went quite well and was exactly what I was hoping for. Then rather than just styling it as my hair dried Nikki proceeded to style it with a variety of brushes and blow dryer. In the end I confirmed how much I owed her and she replied "$35." Fortunately I had that much set aside for the cut and tip so I gave her the $35 and then dug in my purse for an appropriate tip. I waited to write this review until I could live with the cut for a couple of weeks. The cut is probably the best cut that I've had in the last five years. So why not five stars? The little difference in price, plus having to insist on a shampoo before the cut, plus the extra styling makes me withhold that fifth star. I definitely well come back in the future.
