Hubby and I were driving back to Jax from St. Johns when we noticed this Dreamette location. Naturally, we decided to swing in for a quick afternoon ice cream. I ordered a small chocolate shake with brownies and heath. Hubby ordered a medium cake batter dipped vanilla ice cream waffle cone. My chocolate shake was thick and loaded with toppings. Hubby enjoyed his dipped cone. I thought the cake batter dip was a tasty and unique flavor option. The waffle cone was also very good. The service was a bit slow. There was only one girl working and she was taking orders as well as making them. I don't think it's as good as the original location in Murray Hill but still worth stopping in. read more

OMG!!! This place is so cute!!! The remodel is looking fantastic with the new seating, sign, and menu. The owners told us that they have some other renovations that they still have left to do. The service is phenomenal, the young ladies working and the owners were all smiles and very helpful. The ice cream is also very tasty. They offer the extra small size which is perfect for my toddlers. Hubby got a strawberry milkshake and my daughter and I both ordered a Carmel sundae with a cherry on top. The establishment is not too noisy, not too cold, & very well lit. The staff were kind and made sure my order appeared correctly on the screen before I paid. I ordered a small vanilla shake with coffee syrup, chocolate chips, and caramel sauce ($9.16 with tax) if you're looking for a less pricey ice cream experience, I'd try somewhere else but if you're ok with the price tag it's worth the try! Since it was National Ice Cream Day, I told my husband and our dog that we needed to celebrate! We pulled up, and there were plenty of parking spaces. We knew we would have to sit outside due to the dog, so my husband sat down at one of the outdoor tables and told me what he wanted, a brownie sundae. I went inside, and I was surprised at the number of people inside. There was a short line, so I was able to order the sundae, a medium pineapple Dole whip, and I tried to order a dog cup but they were sold out, so I went with a kids sized vanilla cup. Everything was around $14 total, and they served quickly. We sat outside and enjoyed our treats, especially our dog! The Dole whip was refreshing and full of flavors, plus the medium was a good size. Biked over to Dreamette's with my boys to try this place out. For any Dole Whip fans out there, you can get Dole Whip or a Dole Whip twist with vanilla! Yum! They have large portions here, small cones were more then plenty. Giving 4 stars due to the lackluster outdoor seating. The metal tables and chairs absorb the sun and are too hot to use. They either need some shade or a different type of seating that won't get so hot. We will certainly be back. read more

There was a few slices of cheesecake left (it was nearing closing time) we decided on a chocolate peanut butter dipped cone and I had a chocolate Reese's shake. The soft serve is some of the best I've had. They did not skimp on the Reese's in my shake. It was delicious! My husbands dipped cone was really good as well. Parents of middle schoolers and other teenagers, I just wanted to make you aware of a situation that my son and his friends encountered today with Byron, the owner of Dreamette location in Aberdeen. I know from past conversations with other kids and parents that this is not the first time that someone has had a run in with this individual. My husband has been witness to this while waiting in line inside of the store. He even offered to pay for the ice cream of a boy that Byron threatened to call the police on when he was in line buying ice cream with his friend. Today that he focused his bullying on my son and his friends. Like many of the middle schoolers after school, my son and his friends decided to head up to the shopping center to buy drinks, candy, etc. They were in a group of 6 boys total. 3 of those boys had already purchased their ice cream and my son and his 2 friends walked over to the Dreamette store located in Aberdeen to meet up with them after buying candy and waters from the Aberdeen Quick Mart. As they were standing by a table talking to the group of 3 boys already eating their ice cream, Byron came out and asked my son and his other 2 friends if they were buying something. If not, they needed to leave because they were not allowed to be in front of his store. My son's friend said that he was buying some ice cream to share with my son and his other friend and Byron told them that if each of them didn't buy ice cream then he was calling the cops on them. None of the boys were ever rude to him and they weren't even sitting at the tables taking up space. They were standing by a table visiting with the other friends who were there first. I have this entire interaction on video. My son called me to tell me that the owner of Dreamette had threatened to call the police on him and sent me the video. I met the boys inside of Cantina Louie where they were eating after being run off from Dreamette. While in Cantina Louie I spoke to the manager and asked her what type of jurisdiction they had over the sidewalk space in front of the restaurant so that I could get a better understanding of what rights my son and his friends had. She told me that anyone was allowed to stand in front of her store. It is open to the public. At that time Byron came into Cantina Louie. I asked him to step outside so that I could have some words with him. He saw me with the 3 boys that he had run off and he refused to walk outside. I told him that this discussion would best be handled outside of the restaurant because I was going to confront him on several things that I've heard from my kids, their friends, and other parents. Mainly I wanted to tell him that if he ever threatened my son again then he better call the cops on me too because I was not going to stand for my son being threatened for doing absolutely nothing. After several heated minutes of discussion Byron admitted that he has never had any problem out of my son or any of his friends and he ended up apologizing to me. I told him that he owed the apology to the boys that he had threatened. If someone has such a problem with kids being in front of their store - an ice cream store at that! - then this is not the location for him. Half of his business probably comes from these kids. As long as they are respectful and not causing problems then there should be no issue. He definitely shouldn't be threatening young teenagers with calling the cops on them. This post is just to make everyone aware of how the owner of Dreamette may be treating your kids whenever they are out and about with their friends. I am not naive nor do I turn a blind eye to some of the shenanigans that teenagers are known for. When they are standing in front of a store and being threatened with a phone call to the police - that's where my mama bear comes out and I draw the line. To have him admit to me that my son and his friends have always been polite and respectful towards him just 30 minutes after threatening them..... no thanks. I guess that I will make a trip to downtown St Augustine for a Dole Whip from now on. read more

Not even sure where to begin.. from the extremely generous serving sizes to the fair cost to the AWESOME staff and the overly friendly owners.. this place deserves TEN stars. We have been twice since our first time Saturday evening and can't believe it took is so long to visit. If you're at all inclined to believe the negative review take a minute to speak to the actual kids who work there - who act and behave better than most adults - kudos to their parents! Anyone can speak something into existence.. doesn't make it true. And very sad that they would do that to such hard working kids. This place is my family's new favorite place for summer treats. Wonderful local ice cream shop. Also have delicious fudge and cheesecake! The shop is squeaky clean and the staff very helpful. Great visit with children and grandchildren. The kind owner made a special drink as what my husband wanted was not on the menu. So happy to have this business in our area so we can ride our bikes over.
