What can I say, this lactose intolerant girl loves ice cream. We headed to Mayday after running a few errands. I always love coming into their shop because it's bright and cheery and I love the sprinkles on the wall. I'm not sure why I bother even looking at the menu, I get the same flavors every time I go: parent trap and aviator. I decided to get the wingman and in a cup. The girl helping me was friendly and kind. I dug into my ice cream right after I got them, hence the no picture. I first visited a Mayday about 3 or so years ago while I was out traveling in FL. It was a wonderful experience then. For about the past three years, I've been receiving their emails and today I had the opportunity to be traveling out in Florida again and stop by with my daughter. It's back!! Datil Dark my favorite Mayday hand crafted ice cream. Hubs & I were out to dinner last night & instead of ordering dessert he suggested we get ice cream on the way home. Since Datil Dark is a seasonal flavor in the winter time I wasn't sure if it would be available in December. I decided to call first and a very perky young girl answered the phone. I inquired if they had Datil Dark yet she said "we'll be putting it out in about 20 minutes." and I said "we'll be there in 20 minutes!" As expected we showed up and there was my favorite flavor at Mayday waiting for me. It's a deep chocolate with bits of hot datil pepper. Sounds weird ? I thought so too at first but it's so good. Go in & ask for a taste. The staff is happy to let you taste anything you want. While I opted for a "pilot " scoop my husband picked up a pint from their case of his favorite flavor, Session Chocolate. We got it to go & they placed our order carefully in an insulated paper bag with their homemade cookies that accompany each order. read more

We visited this newly opened ice cream store in Nocatee for their grand opening celebration. The place was packed, probably due to the 50% off prices this week. The store is bright and nicely decorated. There are approximately 20 different flavors. They come in single and double scoops, as well as waffle cones. I had the cookie crush flavored ice cream in a waffle cone, and my husband had the mint. The ice cream tasted great. The discounted price was nice. read more
