Absolute best custard I've ever had. They have so many options of sundaes, it's unreal. This is my second time here and I drove 30 min out of the way to come this time. First time I had the Cherry Lee Lewis which was delicious. This time, I had the White Chocolate Raspberry, which is one of their specials. It wasn't as good as the Cherry, but the custard was still delicious. The owners have always been super nice. Highly recommend.

In response to the business owners comment: The classic 'use a spoon' solution -- truly the gold standard in customer care. Apparently, $10 gets you a milkshake and passive aggressive lesson in utensil use. I was all for chocolate chips, just not an avalanche -- when a third of the cup is solid mix-ins, it stops being a drink. Also, just because the high price is listed doesn't make it reasonable.

So we went to this little ice cream shop in world, golf village, and it is absolutely fantastic! Again, it looks so good and I ate it without taking pictures I had the Cherry Lee Lewis and it was sooooo good! It was a cute little shop where we feel very comfortable, and the service was filled with smiles. If you live in world golf Village or driving through, I would certainly suggest that you go there. My plan is to go back more often!

Delicious! They offer a wide selection of unique sundaes. There should be something for everyone here. Sundaes are made with soft serve ice cream, but they are loaded with toppings. All in our group loved their choice.

Twisted Turtle Creamery near Golf Village, St. Augustine. Omg!! I had to visit my favorite frozen custard shop on my first day back to St Augustine. So many choices--what to choose? Everything is so delicious sounding. It wasn't on the menu, but they made me the Lemon Meringue Sundae that I had there before. It was like being in 7th heaven! Definitely worth a visit!! My daughter loves their strawberry sundae where they use their own homemade sauce.

Was delicious!! I don't normally finish an ice cream dish but I finished this one! I had the strawberry cheesecake, hubby had the Fiji banana split, kids had a strawberry milkshake and stair way to chocolate. Very polite and well kept place. Almost like a hidden gem! Loved the beach theme!

Overall great experience at this place. Came here after a meal from a restaurant next door. There were a good number of people at the place so we were intrigued and wanted to try and see what the fuzz about. Plenty of flavors to choose from but that day I just wanted a plain old soft serve ice cream. Very good and it hit the spot. Staff were very friendly.

If you come out after a hard day of shopping at Bass Peo Shop and need a sweet treat, definitely check out this place. Just two minutes away near World Golf Village, the Turtle can meet your sweet needs. We had the Turtle Club in small size and it was more than enough: packed with real ice cream, thick chocolate topping and big pecans. It was creamy, gooey , crunchy, and just yummy. But if that isn't enough, they top it with a turtle cookie! Seating is limited to a few tables and a bar inside with a couple of tables outside. Service is friendly and quick. You can even watch your treats being made. read more

This was one of the first stops we made when we were in St Augustine. They have tons of options of sundaes here. I'm happy the even had a really small version bc I didn't want too much yet my husband wanted his own and he didn't want to share. We both enjoyed our sundaes and there's def a flavor for everyone. The service was ok. And the ambiance had a huge coastal mural on the wall and cute blue aqua light pendants. read more

So we went to this little ice cream shop in world, golf village, and it is absolutely fantastic! This place is outstanding! It was recommended to us and I am very happy that we had an opportunity to try it! Walking in, the place was immaculately clean. There were pictures all around the place that had examples of what their ice creams looked like! Furthermore the staff there was so nice. They were really informative and knowledgeable about their products. The love and pride that they had for their products really showed. I dont blame them since they make everything in house and everything I had was delicious! The ice cream itself was outstanding. I'm both glad (for my weight) and sad (for the taste) that I dont live closer. If I did, I'd be a regular there! I got the cheesecake (turtle style) Sunday and it was outstanding read more

Fun little find in a random strip mall. I love that you can turn any sundae into a milkshake. I got the butter pecan milkshake with bourbon whipped cream. The whipped cream had more of a kick than I was expecting. They are a custard shop and not an ice cream shop but it's very thick and creamy and has tons of flavor. read more

This store has amazing frozen custard! Don't let the name custard fool you. It is so much creamier, richer and smoother than ice-cream. The owner makes so many of the toppings from scratch and you can tell. No artificial flavors! I cannot wait to go back! read more

Rock on the Turnovers, both Apple and cherry are tremendous. Yes the Twisted turtle Club, Strawberry Shortcake, and Stairway to Chocolate will rock the sweet tooth into a wonderful jams session LOL!!!!!! Their desserts are worth waiting for, so leave the restaurant and go get some that is much better!!!!!! read more

Very confusing menu, staff was very unhelpful. There was no one else there and when I ordered a sundae, the owner hesitated asked her coworker if she could make it? Said they would have to stop what they were doing and clean a bowl. Decided not to bother with that, ordered a plain cone and milkshake. Neither were very good. We love ice cream and we're so disappointed. Surprised by all the good reviews, place was empty. read more

I had heard about this place from my parents who live nearby. I was in town for a long weekend that happened to coincide with national ice cream sandwich day. Twisted Turtle Creamery was offering a BOGO (buy one get one) ice cream sandwich deal. So we decided to pick some up for dessert. The shop is bright and the staff is friendly and welcoming. The cookies were homemade and the ice cream was creamy and delicious. We split each of the sandwiches into three so we could try some of each flavor. We had snickerdoodle cookies with vanilla ice cream and a chocolate cookie with chocolate ice cream. Both were outstanding. The cookies were soft and flavorful and the ice cream didn't melt too fast while we were indulging. I can see why my parents have raved about Twisted Turtle Creamery and will definitely consider returning the next time I'm visiting. read more

A love story: Oh so rarely do we stumble upon a hidden gem that we forget how soft the unicorns mane really is. In short; this place is absolutely fabulous! So many components needed to form such an experience. The husband behind the counter spinning a tale of how they all played a role in building their dream while putting together orders and explaining their menu options to customers . His wife working passionately to fill them, not cutting ANY corners in the process ( I literally watched her stop what she was doing to prepare fresh whipped cream) I had a quick flashback of sitting in my grandmother's kitchen watching her while she prepared us banana splits when we were kids.Their daughter; a Chef who clearly understands that quality and consistency are essential in producing a lasting brand. (they prepare nearly everything in house) clearly thought out flavor profiles and texture variations that work and complement each other really well. Their homemade custard was perfect in both consistency and flavor. Then executed perfectly to the menu description. Dang, someone pinch my cheek. During my tenor as an executive Chef and instructor at a culinary school this is literally what we taught and strived for, who we supported and who we were proud of. They hit it on every level. This place is an absolute MUST try. If they can maintain their consistency and keep pace it will be the best spot in town without really any competition. I had an amazing time today with the Wizard chef today. I asked her to make something special and she delivered her wizardry lol. We called it highway to heaven and weight watchers lmao!!! It had bourbon whip, homemade caramel salt with so much deliciousness I think it also had marshmallow. Like seriously it was great! So let's support these wonderful souls. I have never experienced an ice cream shop that felt like a restaurant. Everything was handcrafted and made with a personal touch. This place was definitely different in the best possible way. Our daughters ordered the Smores Sunday and they actually toasted a huge marshmallow with a torch and put it on the graham cracker over the Sunday. It was incredible. read more

I ordered the Turtle Club Sundae and my husband ordered the strawberry cheesecake twister. They were both really good. You can taste that every ingredient is home made. The owners work behind the counter and are so sweet and patient. My only regret is that we got mediums instead of large! This place is a gem! read more

We parked nearby and walked to Peace Pie which was so close to the main square where Nights of Lights is during the holidays (noted). There it was, a bright and colorful storefront situated amongst a group of aromatic formal dining restaurants. It just so happened to be buy-one-get-one night, which is only on Tuesdays! I got the cookies and cream, my friend got the praline flavor and they were both absolutely delicious! I loved how the ice cream had lots of mix-ins and was frozen hard enough to not melt in our hands immediately. They serve the sandwiches in a lined paper wrap so even if things do get melty, it was easy to stay neat. We made a new friend in Stephanie who was (wo)manning the counter that night. She gave us great flavor recommendations and some ideas on what we can do during our next trip to St. Aug! Found a new favorite! Check out Peace Pie!!

During that initial stay, I walked here a couple of times to pick up treats and they didn't disappoint. Since then it has become a go-to when we have guests visiting and want to have dessert on hand. It is a pretty interior space with desserts and treats galore. They are beautifully made and a treat for all your senses. The staff on my visits have always been so friendly and helpful. (I love the southern hospitality we experience at so many places in St. Augustine.) My favorite treat may just be the cannoli. They are smaller sized than what I am used to back home...but this is good thing! in my opinion. There are an assortment of chocolates, brownies, cookies, some candies, croissants...and a variety of cakes and pies. We are not huge sweets eaters but this place is hard to resist.

The stand outs were the pumpkin flavored desserts including the cheesecake. They were so flavorful, I kept going for more. I also got the raspberry cheesecake which didn't have enough raspberry flavor but had a delicious crust. I will come back here the next time I'm in the area and try more.

I ordered two glasses of Prosecco and she informs me that they are out of Prosecco. What!? I then order a can of IPA and a glass of white wine for my gf, which took way too long to get. Plus my beer wasn't even that cold and her wine wasn't good either. I asked about the cheese tray + wine and she looked confused. I asked her what cheeses came on it and she said she didn't know, but she'd find out, but never did. lol. I came here prepared to buy a bottle of Prosecco and a cheese tray to sit outside and enjoy with my gf but that didn't happen. If you are working at a place you should know the couple things that you do serve and know them very well. There also wasn't any clean glasses for the spa water. The deserts did look good but god forbid I asked either of them a question about them because they would have looked at me befuddled. I highly doubt I'll ever come back here again. The combination of imaginative cocktails, exceptional food, and a unique atmosphere makes every visit memorable. The cocktail program is outstanding. We enjoy trying a variety of their exotic and inventive drinks, and they never disappoint. The flavors are bold, creative, and unlike anything you'll find at a typical restaurant bar. The Yellow Submarine cocktail is quite possibly the best drink I have ever consumed. Made with curry-infused Bermuda black rum, lime, ginger, and Asian five-spice brown sugar syrup, it sounded unusual on paper but came together beautifully. I enjoyed it so much that I ordered four of them that evening, something I rarely do. That was three years ago, and despite returning several times since then, I have never seen it on the menu again. The food is equally impressive. Two years ago, I ordered the Skillet Roasted New York Strip served with Yukon Gold potato-anna, roasted asparagus and spring onions, watercress, and black truffle hollandaise. To this day, it remains one of the top five restaurant meals I have ever eaten. Every component on the plate was exceptional. The steak was perfectly prepared, the crispy potato galette was irresistible, and the black truffle hollandaise elevated the entire dish to another level. It was the kind of meal that stays with you long after the plate is cleared. I would gladly drive 300 miles just to eat it again. Most recently, I had the wild mushroom bisque, and it was the best soup I have ever consumed. Rich, creamy, buttery, intensely mushroomy, and perfectly balanced, it was everything a mushroom soup should be. The addition of crispy pickled onions and crème fraîche added texture and contrast that made an already outstanding soup even better. My wife and I enjoyed it so much that we returned the very next day hoping to order it again, only to discover it had already rotated off the menu. My only complaint about The Ice Plant is that some of their greatest creations seem to disappear as quickly as they arrive. While I appreciate the constantly evolving menu and understand that seasonal changes are part of what makes the restaurant special, there are certain items that deserve a permanent home. The Yellow Submarine cocktail, the wild mushroom bisque, and the Skillet Roasted New York Strip with black truffle hollandaise are three of the finest things I have experienced there. The fact that I can vividly remember one of these items from three years ago and another from two years ago says everything. Great restaurants serve good food. Truly special restaurants create dishes and drinks that stay with you for years. The Ice Plant has done that for me more than once, and that is why we continue to return whenever we visit St. Augustine.

When I arrived with my pregnant wife and my service dog, he asked somewhat curtly if it was a service dog. After I confirmed and thanked him, he rudely placed the menu on the table, turned around without saying another word or showing any basic courtesy, and just walked away with his back to us. It was a pretty cold and uncomfortable welcome. That said, the restaurant is absolutely charming. I really loved the interior ambiance--it's cozy, well-decorated, and has a very pleasant vibe. The food was extremely delicious. We ordered the Half Pound Ice Plant Burger and it was juicy, fresh, and packed with flavor. You could taste the quality in every single bite--the meat was perfect, the ingredients fresh, and everything very well balanced. Definitely one of the best burgers I've had recently. Despite the initial host experience, I would return without hesitation for the food and the atmosphere. Highly recommended, but they could improve the initial greeting.

The establishment offers on-street parking directly in front, which is convenient; however, spaces can be limited, so I recommend arriving early to secure a spot. The interior is spacious and well-appointed, and the staff were consistently courteous and professional. I ordered the cinnamon coffee and found it excellent--robust, well-balanced, and flavorful, not diluted as is unfortunately common at some other cafés. The quality and care in preparation were evident. Overall, The KOOKABURRA is a delightful and ethically run café. I plan to return and would recommend it to others seeking a welcoming atmosphere and a reliably good cup of coffee.
