I stopped by to get x-rays and have my teeth exam and I was getting ready to hear a lot of bad news. Knowing that I had not visited the dentist in about 8 to 10 years I knew that there would be work that would be needed to be completed.. The dentist was very helpful with letting me know the severity of it, but at the same time showed optimism and made me feel comfortable. Not only are we looking into the repairment of my tooth but also he explained to me the things that would be needed to be done in order to restore my teeth. I had plaque built up and my gums were very swollen with numbers high as fives and six which is not great and he explained to me that it would take a few appointments of deep cleaning and laser treatment in order to restore them. The appointments that I've had with them have been painless, and they have always made me feel comfortable while visiting them. This really helped me overcome my fear of visiting in the dentist and I actually do look forward to seeing them for my next appointment. Throughout the entire procedure, he kept me fully informed and painstakingly ensured I wasn't experiencing a single moment of pain or discomfort. Because I grind my teeth, my natural teeth are a bit on the smaller side, which meant it took some extra time and meticulous effort to resize and reshape the new crown to align perfectly with my jaw. I tend to avoid confrontation, and I think Dr. Patrick picked up on that. He looked me straight in the eye and encouraged me to speak up if anything felt even a tiny bit off, insisting that it had to be absolutely perfect to protect my bite and jaw alignment long-term. I really appreciated that extra push. Truthfully, I might have held my tongue and settled for "good enough" otherwise. (In hindsight, that's probably what happened with my former dentist in Irvine who did my original crown.) The difference in quality between this crown and my first one is night and day. Luckily, I was saved from figuring out those logistics when I stumbled upon Bello Dental in Montebello. Not only did they offer manageable pricing for out-of-pocket patients, but their stellar reviews across both Yelp and Google backed it up. From the start, booking was a breeze; the receptionist was kind, knowledgeable, and highly accommodating. When he went back for a second time, the office wanted to take additional X-rays, and the office manager, Angie, informed him that there would be a charge to recement the crown if they were able to do so. My husband questioned why he should be charged when the crown had already failed twice within a very short period. It seemed reasonable to expect the office to stand behind their work. Instead, Angie stated that the crown came off because he had not been consistent with his dental checkups. I found that comment both unprofessional and inappropriate. As mentioned, we only sought treatment at this office because it was an emergency and our regular dentist was unavailable after hours. My husband routinely receives his cleanings and dental checkups throughout the year. As a Director in the customer service industry, I would never speak to a client in that manner or make assumptions about their personal habits without knowing the facts. I am extremely disappointed with how this situation was handled. The lack of accountability and the way we were treated left a very negative impression.
