I absolutely love this place, its away from the city (which we are from Phx), the weather is cooler, and the scenery is beautiful. The owners Ella and Mike are super down to earth and kind. When you rent the guest house, they provide you with farm fresh eggs, bread, bacon, orange juice; basic breakfast food. So if you come multiple days you do need to bring own food and cook yourself but it's not bad at all. The house is filled with all cooking utensils and its clean. They also have an outdoor kitchen right next to the house which is super cool and glows with lights at night time. The best part about this place is the beautiful lake nearby that you can easily spend an entire day at, either swimming, fishing, boating. It's really just amazing and I highly reccomend.

When we open the door the first thing we noticed was that the bed was unmade and there were towels on the floor. Naturally I called the front desk. We had to haul all of our things back into the car and go to the front office. The front desk supervisor placed us in a different room. So we hauled our belongings into the new room. The moment we opened the door we knew something was wrong. It was ridiculously hot! Everything is dingy and outdated. I know Phoenix in the summer but even with the cooler at its lowest temperature, the room was humid and hot. My husband then had to kill about four crickets, and finally we went to bed because we were exhausted. The following morning I woke up to a bug crawling into my mouth. I jumped out of bed and freaked out and smacked my own face to get the bug off. We did go down and tell the front desk. At this point I was instructed to email the general manager Misty to see what kind of reimbursement my husband and I could get. Keep in mind that at no point in time did I ask for financial reimbursement. In my email to the general manager all I asked was what could be done. One week after we stayed at this hotel I still had no communication from the general manager. I attempted to speak with her three different times but every time I called her staff would tell me they didn't know when she would be in. Finally I just called Wyndham customer care. July 19 was my first phone call with them and they did instruct me to wait one more week for her response. One week passed, so yesterday I tried calling the location. Again she was not available until after 2 PM. At about 330 I called back and I was told that she was not there today and nobody knows her schedule. Instead of repeating myself to the staff at the location I proceeded to call customer care again. This time I voiced my opinion about how horrible customer service was from a general manager! Now my husband and I are currently waiting for a customer care to reimburse us. We had to forward the email I sent Misty with pictures of our bank statement. I mean this is CRAZY! I've never had such a crappy experience with Wyndham! After my phone call with customer care yesterday at around 5 o'clock The general manager Misty decided to send me an email stating she could not reimburse me for anything and she was sorry for her lack of communication. I wish that my husband and I would have read reviews before booking here. Shortly after our wedding about five years ago we stayed at this exact location and we were completely satisfied. Everything that has been pointed out in every other review is completely true and my husband and I will never stay at this location again!!!!

So any who's, when we checked in the first room they put us in had a clogged toilet... so I called the front to request a fix or a new room. I should have known something was wrong when I over heard on the phone someone in the background also complaining about their toilet clogged. Yikes! The front desk offered us a new room, and instead of them delivering the new room keys I had to go all the way back to the front and get them my self... and move to... the MOST disgusting pathetic hotel room I've ever seen in my life! But, we were so exhausted, at this point it's around 11pm and we r tired, and was not about to see what another room would look like. So we dealt with it and decided to take it up with management the following morning at check out. It was so terrible, I slept with the lights on in hopes it'll keep any possible critters away. The Motel6 corporate website and phone number were useless. No effective way to file a complaint. I am not a neat freak...this place was just gross. Never again. Update: After 8pm some stranger was pounding on our door. We said, "we don't know you and are not opening the door!" Then we packed up, was refused a refund by the front desk, but was able to cancel our second night. Found another much nicer location a few miles away in Glendale. will request a refund for our first night from Motel6 corporate...if we can ever figure out how to reach a human being.

The air conditioner works well and it's 100F tonight. It has a desk in the room, a mini refrigerator and it doesn't smell like smoke. THE BAD The check in and check out desk staff are slow. While checking in, a couple of guests have been involved in some kind of situation involving the police. One guest was complaining that her room had all kinds of issues making it unusable, the staff just kept saying, "I won't have a maintenance person until tomorrow". This guest and staff went back and forth until they finally agreed to give her a different room. She had just checked in. When checking out, there was a line at the desk. The staff person heard some commotion coming from outside and left the desk to go to the door to watch, then came back with a gleeful smile on her face saying, "I have to check to see what's going on". No WIFI password was provided. The initial experience with the front desk was so bad, I didn't waste me time going back to ask for it. The light switch in the room at the door turns on the TV power but not the lights. The room was pitch black, a major hazard. I had to go back to the front desk to ask how to turn on the lights. They sent a non-English speaking security guard to show me how to turn on the lights. The room lights are tiny little inconspicuous black switches no one could easily find. (I tried before I went down stairs to the front desk). It's next to a rail road and trains pass by multiple times during the night and morning. The mini refrigerator looked clean but mades a strange sticky sound when opened. The bath tub shower enamel is worn out and the plumbing looks broken. (It function fine) The room had 1 roll of toilet paper and one towel. The people staying at this motel are sketchy looking. There were people walking up and down the walk ways all night, people hanging outside the rooms talking, men and women screaming at each other, next door a man continually pounded something in his room while yelling. There was prostitution going on in the parking area. There are no luggage Carts, you have to carry everything to your room up a flight of stairs. Don't risk leaving anything in your car here. The noise, car alarms, people yelling and fighting continued until around 5 AM. I only got 5 hours of sleep during a 15 hour stay. Total waste of my money and time and I ended up having to pull off the road to sleep twice after checking out, because I was so sleepy. I don't recommend this place to anyone, ever. I needed a place to stay because I can't currently drive at night. As a Wyndham member, I made my decision based on their available motels in the area and their ratings. I made a regrettable decision.

It did not feel properly cleaned, and the shower was honestly disgusting. The water pressure was very low, making it difficult to even enjoy a shower. While the staff member at check-in was great, the overall experience was not restful or comfortable. Improvements in cleanliness, maintenance, and soundproofing would make a big difference.
