    Poop on the wall

Sweet lord. Don't EVER EVER EVER stay here. Literal SHIT on the wall, that the maid wiped off with one of the wash clothes and walked away. Smoke detector/fire alarm hanging from the ceiling. Multiple holes in the wall, including a suspicious hole in the front door that resembled a bullet hole. The floors were so filthy it turned our feet black in less than ten minutes. BYOP (bring your own pillow) as the pillows are FLAT. Bedding was so itchy. Hopefully I didn't catch Covid or a disease here. So gross. Front desk was NOT friendly and didn't enforce the alleged mask policy. The area surrounding the hotel is sketch with homeless druggies hanging around. As soon as the sun goes down, this hotel comes to life with lots of cracked out people walking circles on every floor. At least my car didn't get broken into. I left as soon as I woke up. Would never ever ever stay again.

    Check in is 3pm.

Unbelievably Rude. To say the least this is one of the most NON friendly lack of customer service experiences I have ever had. The lobby staff and Manager Joshua are rude and have no customer service. They are not willing to offer any assistant. We arrived early and tried to check in. They continually told us there was no rooms available. However, we saw many open and available rooms as the windows were open. They told us check in was 4pm. The books in the room say 3pm. The room was ok. Looked clean however, the comforters had stains on them. They only provide you 2 towels. When you call for more, they were always out. (bring your own) The parking lot was not very well lit. There were people doing drugs in the stair ways. The breakfast was ok. waffles were good. The eggs looked like smashed hard boil eggs. The coffee machine was broken. I will would not recommend this hotel to anyone, even for a cheap price.

Lights in halls not working & VERY dirty.

KIDS NOT WELCOMED. This is a transient location off I-17 and nights are filled with them roaming the lot and going in and out of rooms. There seems to be NO PRIDE in the cleanliness of the grounds as trash is seen lying around outside the pool area and employees walk past it daily. The beds were comfortable and rooms cool. However, electrical outlets were loose, vents hadn't been cleaned in who knows how long, and ALL towels need replaced. The pool was closed and the Business area was in complete disarray & unorganized. The copier was out of order. Obviously, ownership has no pride in their busiess. Will not stay here again.

Only stay here if you must. Since I travel frequently, I used this area as a pit stop. Not terrible but just a 5 hour sleep and shake. Room looks clean but outdated . It is just a quality inn. Don't expect much here. If you're looking for a 5 star buffet or room service , you'll be greeted by a security officer who is armed and a check in lady who I personally wouldn't bad mouth. ( looks mean) Good luck.

THERE WAS PEE UNDER MY COMFORTER !

They didn't even clean since there was a pee stain this place is disgusting trash out all over the place the door lock was broken . Asked for another room and it turns out worse then the first . DO NOT STAY HERE

Rooms were not that bad as some reviewers had noted.Rooms were clean and had towels they were not missing. Only saw one hobo outside one room looking through the trash can. Breakfast was ok and saw that they came around and refilled it like twice when I was there. The eggs are not the best as other reviewers posted is maybe cause it's made from powder eggs. Over all was ok.

    Mold above shower

What a dump! I agree with these facts are the only reason this place deserves a 1 star review. 1. Lots of well lit parking 2. Pretty good breakfast included with stay 3. While I didnt use the pool, it looks clean 4. Rooms are adequate in size, tight for more than 2 people. Now here are the list of cons.. 1. Filthy disgusting dirty rooms. Our room still had sticky cup rings on the nights stand when we entered. Carpet is gross, huge stain right in front of the fridge. Doesn't take much to spot clean this type of hotel carpet. 2. Mold above the shower area. 3. Boogers?? So I am not sure if this is some kind of "marking your territory thing" but there are 2 huge boogers stuck on our walls in 2 different areas. Weird and gross. But clearly visible if you actually clean a room. 4. Broken latch over door lock. It actually fell apart as we closed the door to enter. I called and spoke to Marisella. She said, "I will try to get maintenance up there if they are available." Huh?? If they are available? Isn't that the job of HOTEL MAINTENANCE!! Never got fixed. 5. While the breakfast is pretty good, on a Sundsy morning they stopped serving breakfast at 8:30am not 9am as posted. On Saturday morning, one of the waffle makers was broken. 6. Despite this being a non-smoking hotel and a few signs posted people smoke everywhere all the time day and night at this hotel. 7. Front desk staff forced me to bring down dirty towels to get clean ones in exchange. Staff member said, "Sorry this is just our policy." However, friends who were also guests were not forced to do this. Bottom line.. do NOT stay here. Find a different hotel. I'd rather spend a few extra bucks than deal with this dump.

The worst hotel experience ever! I went to take a bath and as I'm laying in the tub I look straight ahead and see a syringe sticking out from under the toilet tank. Wow, and if that wasn't enough I found another syringe cap and broken glass next to the bed. I tried to call down to the front office at least 9 different times, and no answer, I really didn't want to have to walk down because it was evening and there were quite a few scaries wandering around. I went to the front office first thing in a.m. and told the front desk clerk about the syringes and her reply was.." I'll let em know they're not yours"..oh gee thanks, because my main concern was housekeepings opinion of me. Then there was the awful breakfast where you are not permitted to leave the front lobby with your food, there are even two woman who stand and glare at you as you eat crowded next to the other 100 guests in a makeshift dining area. Finally when I complained to the main customer service dept, I was offered 1000 points on my Choice rewards card, not nearly enough to even cover one night. I will never stay in another Choice Hotel. I am disgusted and really disappointed in this whole experience and suggest you find somewhere else to stay.

    Safe and nightstand.

I booked a bungalow in the retreat area to have access to the 2 other temperature regulated pools. Maydeline at the Spa was very helpful and very in touch with guest needs. One step ahead everytime. Colin really saved the day with making sure we had everything we needed. Brennan was also really helpful at breakfast and bringing us water all the way to the retreat pool. There was a minor hiccup with requesting ice while we were there but they did take care of it and apologized the next day for it not being done promptly, the acknowledgement was great and it really was such a minor thing. They have lots of activities everyday that are included and they also have experiences you can pay for.

The hotel is inspired by the colorful and folk art influenced works of renowned mid-century modern architect and designer Alexander "Sandro" Girard. The hotel's bio says he was the main source of inspiration for the design of the Andaz Scottsdale. The property is beautiful to walk around, with all the landscaping, flowers and trees; some of them are marked with what kind of plant they are. There are century plants and aloe and various cacti. The fitness center is located at the spa. It has windows which open up onto the pool, which is a more private pool than the main pool. The staff is outstanding. Savannah, who ran the front desk on my most recent visit, is absolutely amazing and really helped with any questions or small issues with my stay. The restaurant is wonderful for the hotel breakfast. I recommend having cocktails there too. You can see a beautiful sunset from the bar. I love the open design of this hotel resort because it makes you feel like you're in the countryside and you can admire the beautiful views of Camelback as you walk around the grounds and hear birds chirping. It's so relaxing. Parking is easy and you can usually find a spot right outside your casita room as the parking circles the hotel. Toiletries in the room smell so good! Lavender with sea salt. It's really like staying in a spa! One of my favorite experiences at this hotel was taking a late afternoon outdoor class at the spa/gym on the large lawn where we did stretching/light resistance training with the the sunset behind Camelback Mountain as the backdrop. It was glorious. I definitely recommend trying one of the classes or "experiences" if you stay here. Some of them you have to pay extra for, but a few of them are included with your room rate. At first glance the hotel interiors and architecture seem extremely simple and minimal, but then you realize it's actually all a piece of mid-century modern inspired art. It's really fun to walk around and admire all the understated design details at this hotel.

I ordered 2 food items and pre paid for 3 beers the bill came out to $52.18 I didn't think much of it and even tipped 25% After I finished my third beer. I decided to order a cookie with ice cream and an old fashioned to take up to my room. Again I tipped 25% My phone has text alert and I noticed the bill was $42.62 for what should have been $22.00 max I bought it to my bar tenders attention and she was working things out on the registry and came back with a receipt that didn't have prices just my order but she had added 1 extra beer. I told her it was wrong and she said it wasn't that the first time she had only charged me for 2 beers and this was my third beer. I did not want to argue so I left it at that but I couldn't sleep thinking about it. I mean dang I even tipped her good. The next day I reached out. To management I don't mind taking care of my servers and I'm always a good tipper. But I don't like being taken advantage of because they think I had a few drinks. Or they think I won't notice extra things. This is not okay. The hotel you check into is supposed to be a safe place like home to enjoy a drink or two. The management offered to refund the first bill of 52.18. But I told him I just wanted what I was over charged refunded plus my tips. At this point I feel she had the chance to correct my bill and make things right but she chose to make me feel like I was in the wrong. After the manager added my first bill up after I told him what I had ordered it turns out she charged 4 beers the first time and not just my 3 and way over charged me the second time. This is a great place to stay but keep an eye on what you order. More so late at night. Also my hot wings were cold in the center but I didn't even mention it to her at the time. The only drawback for me was how much noise there was outside on Camelback Road. I know they can't do anything about that, but it kept me up. So it's something to consider.

Dining: TAQUERIA CENTRO -- 10 out of 10. The food and service were both exceptional. Manager Carlos did an outstanding job and was a true highlight of our stay. Prado -- 4 out of 10. We visited Prado twice during our stay. Our first visit was for breakfast -- the food was okay but noticeably overpriced for what was offered. Our second visit was a far worse experience. We were seated and waited 15 minutes without our server ever acknowledging us, so we got up and left. The service at this restaurant was consistently poor and the pricing did not reflect the quality or experience provided. Dining Options -- Room for Improvement. For a resort of this size and reputation, the dining options felt limited. We would strongly recommend adding at least one additional restaurant to give guests more variety. The snack and coffee shop, which could help fill that gap, closed far too early in the evening. Extending those hours would go a long way in improving the overall guest experience, particularly for those who want a light bite or a cup of coffee later in the day. The Room -- 6 out of 10. The room itself was nice, but there were several issues that fell well below the standard I would expect from a resort of this caliber. The bed was old and noticeably worn down, making for an uncomfortable night's sleep. To make matters worse, the comforter on the bed was torn and had visible holes in it -- something that should never make it into a guest room. We also struggled with the room temperature throughout the night and were unable to get it to cool down comfortably. A Bright Spot at Checkout: I spoke with Avery Williams, Director of Front Office, at checkout and she was genuinely outstanding. She was sincerely concerned about the issues we experienced and did everything she could to address them. She even followed up with an email after our departure, which was a very nice touch. Overall, I left feeling somewhat disappointed given the reputation of this resort. With a few improvements -- additional dining options, extended snack shop hours, updated room bedding and linens, and better temperature control -- along with a serious look at the service standards at Prado, this could easily be a 9 or 10 out of 10 experience.
