    Porka egg roll
    Bobb S.

Stopped in on a Friday for lunch. Order at the counter. Went with the pork egg rolls as well as the traditional banh mi. I ordered carryout but there are a few tables on the cute (and sparking clean interior). Both of my items were exceptional-the pork egg roll was rich and tasted great with the dripping sauce. I appreciate that the bread and mayo are made in house. The sandwich was packed with pickled veggies, cilantro, jalapeño, and meat. It definitely ranks up there with the best banh mi in Madison. Definitely excited to try their other items on my return visits. A must try.

Solid spot for banh mi's in Madison! There's only a few tables so I would recommend taking your sandwiches to-go and eating them elsewhere (like Tenney Park)! The lemongrass banh mi is super flavorful. The passionfruit fruit tea was also pretty solid, but pretty sweet even though is was 50% sugar. It was refreshing though, and I would still order it.

Will need to try the bahn mi next time. The milk tea was above average for Madison. We came near closing and they were out of tapioca so I got jelly instead. Pretty good but would have liked to be able to adjust ice/sugar levels.

Cozy little cafe serving banh mi and boba. Located right next to Klinke Cleaners. No direct signage on the building but they have a banner outside. Interior: very clean, five small tables. If no one is at the cash register, they have a self order kiosk. Took maybe 10 minutes to get my order which was the Bbq pork banh mi. I'm glad they didn't stray away from the pate! Bread is on the chewier side. Overall a decent banh mi. I would've liked some heat from the jalapeños. They're doing a soft opening right now. Would come back to try their desserts/boba. Seems like they have a very limited menu on the boba considering maybe half of the options were crossed off.

Fried chicken bahn mi and bbq pork

This place hit the flavor bomb. We got the fried chicken spicy and the bbq pork and let me tell you it's fire. Well worth the money and I only finished half and was full. I literally keep thinking about going for the other half. Service was great very nice and the place is pretty and clean. They make the bread fresh. I just know I'm going back soon!!! Must try!

That fried chicken... egg rolls... lemongrass chicken!

The crew here are so cool, kind, and attentive. And they cook up the best hot bar with plenty of vegetarian options! Super clean and spacious store. Love the layout. Open, welcoming, not noisy.

I made a loop around the store that started with produce, then into a very small bakery area and the hot bar/deli area, into the cold section and shelves, and finally through the frozen section. There are a lot of organic, natural, and alternative-diet food items and a wider array of veggie products than you'll encounter at a regular grocery store. I had hoped to find graham flour here, but they didn't carry it in either their bulk flours up front, nor in the baking aisle. One thing that stuck out to me is that prices are all over the place. Some things are much cheaper than you'll find them in typical grocery stores, while others are sticker-shock expensive. For example, Field Roast veggie sausages were around $5, while they go for closer to $7 at most other places around Madison. On the flip side, there was a rising crust pizza for I think $6 that I just picked up for $3.50 at another store. One thing I will say is that the vibe of the Co-op is different from any other grocer I've been to, in that it seemed like hangout spot. Lots of people were shopping in pairs with friends and chit-chatting away with each other and the staff. It's definitely got more of a community/small-town corner shop feel in that way. I have a gift card for the Co-op burning a hole in my wallet, so I'll have to pop back through again when I have more time to browse and don't have specific items in mind.

Seems like they bake in a convection oven based on the crunch of the outside of these items. Visit 2: Ordered a Chai and Nom Nom sandwich for dine in. Chai had NO flavor. It tasted like milk with some cinnamon sprinkled on top. The Nom Nom sandwich was a No No. It's a cheddar chive biscuit with egg, cheese, and maple syrup. It does not work. Listen, if maple syrup were good on eggs, it would be a thing. It's not. Furthermore, the way the cooked the egg was freaking weird (soft boiled?). The yolk was nasty and they did not season the egg. The maple syrup completely hid the taste of the biscuit, which made their wonderful cheddar chive biscuit pointless. They would be much better off making a basic egg and cheese biscuit. Just because you are located in Madison doesn't mean you have to try to come up with something unusual. Be yourself and show off your food! Visit 3: Got 1 cheddar chive biscuit to go. Woah. You'd think I offended the person working the counter. "That's IT???" she said, along with an eye roll. I felt as if she would have rather not I not bought anything. And the other person working also glared at me. WTF??? Normally I would give a pass, but a previous review mentioned the rudeness. I don't feel like being treated like that again, so I'm done. The only thing worth getting was the biscuit anyway. I can do without.

They also have a lot of different housemade syrups for their coffee, which I always appreciate! I went with the miso butterscotch flavor, which was tasty but I felt like I was mostly tasting coffee and not getting much of the flavor itself. The coffee quality was good though, just wanted to taste more of that flavor. The service was great and staff was friendly. The ambiance is super cute, with plants all around, a vintage feel, and lots of seating as well.
