Great lunch deal! For $8, you get a solid portion of chicken over rice with a side (I got dolma). Probably the closest to a NY halal cart that I've had in Madison. We would have ordered more, but we had just eaten earlier and were nearby at Woodman's West for grocery shopping when we saw the sign. This place is probably fine if you don't know what a gyro is supposed to be (which may explain the good reviews). I ordered a gyro to my hotel room because it was late and I was super hungry. The meat was ok, not the best but not terrible. However, the "Greek sauce" they put on it is basically mayo. It's not tzatziki (that word appears nowhere on the menu from what I could tell). And the "Mediterranean" salad was iceberg, tomato, and onion. In what world is that Mediterranean? It's like a Greek person came to Wisconsin, gave them a recipe for gyro meat, then died before he could tell them what else to do. It's very Midwestern. Not good. read more

Love the chicken bowl! It is a massive portion of rice and chicken, fresh pita and one other side choice. At first I was surprised the chicken was flooded with a white sauce, but it was fantastic! Apparently their white sauce is famous. I found it creamy and garlicky, and it truly enhanced the dish. My side choice was hummus, which went well with the rest of the chicken bowl. read more

This place is phenomenal!! Definitely just a quick pop in for a to go or quick bite. The food is SO good though!! I got the chicken gyro and my husband got the regular gyro and they are huge!! My husband couldn't even finish his which is pretty rare. But the size was not overcompensating for anything because the flavors were there. Awesome saucy, tender chicken and lamb, plenty of tzatziki and the pita is soft and perfect. We just had a side order of fries which were crispy and perfect. I took out lunch from here on a week day. Lunch plates were much cheaper than the regular plates. Gyro plate was my favorite. Hummus was excellent. Falafal was good as well. Mix plate was good too. Red sauce was just ok. May be I should have avoided it. Guava juice was my favorite drink. Lemon ginger soda was a good exotic soda to try. Baklava was cheaper, and was good. read more

I love Greek food and stumbled upon this place based on the high ratings by my fellow Yelpers. Never have they steered me wrong, until now. FIrst of all the cashier seemed miserable and not very helpful when I was asking questions. They didn't seem busy - I was the only person in there. I can let that slide - everyone has a bad day. But I was a bit surprised they only serve bowls and sandwiches - never seen that in a Greek place. I ordered the gyro with a side of Greek fries. Neither looked like the photos on their site. The meat had a strange taste to it - not sure what they use for seasoning - just seemed tough and not very good, and I typically love most any meat no matter how it's prepared. Both the sandwich and the fries were DRENCHED - I mean a TON of - sauce. So much so that I couldn't finish it. If I were to ever return (doubtful), I'd at least ask for the sauce on the side for both because they probably should have used 1/3 of what they used like they do in their photos. I mean, there was so much it made my stomach turn and it wasn't very good at that. I wouldn't go back, and probably think they deserve one star, but feel bad for small businesses. read more

Gyros with fries. Plenty of fries, but the gyros barely had any meat in them, and the little meat they had was dry as hell. The tzatziki was straight from a package and pretty gnarly. It actually tasted like ranch dressing with a few cucumber chunks in it. The fries were fine. Over $50 for 3 sandwiches, fries, and 3 cans of soda is not a good deal.
