I LOVE living down the block from Reverie! It's our go to for a weekend treat especially when family is visiting. They have such a fun variety of baked goods, and I love their biscuit sandwiches too. Their coffee is great - the house made syrups are excellent and always rotating seasonally! Whether you're looking for an adventurous espresso tonic or a classic latte, they have an option for everyone. The service is also great - everyone behind the counter has always been consistently kind, friendly, and helpful. This is such a great neighborhood hub and is a great spot to work from too! This is a super cute coffee shop/bakery with lots of fun options! They had a variety of pastries, which I didn't get to try on this day, but they all looked yummy. They also have a lot of different housemade syrups for their coffee, which I always appreciate! I went with the miso butterscotch flavor, which was tasty but I felt like I was mostly tasting coffee and not getting much of the flavor itself. The coffee quality was good though, just wanted to taste more of that flavor. The service was great and staff was friendly. The ambiance is super cute, with plants all around, a vintage feel, and lots of seating as well. read more

I was really impressed with this place! We walked in and were immediately greeted by a super friendly barista! I had a delicious dirty chai that came in a cute mug. I also ordered the nom nom on a cheddar chive biscuit it had an egg, cheese, and a little bit of maple syrup on it. It was sooo delicious you should absolutely get it. I think some hot honey or a little bit of Tabasco would also be sooo good on it if you're brave enough to bring it! The general vibe of the coffee shop is bright and homey with high ceilings. A lot of nice wood furniture! It was a great place to get some work done. I will definitely be coming back. read more

I've been here 3 times. Visit 1: Purchased a cheddar chive biscuit and jalapeño popper scone to go. Biscuit was wonderful, scone had no flavor. Seems like they bake in a convection oven based on the crunch of the outside of these items. Visit 2: Ordered a Chai and Nom Nom sandwich for dine in. Chai had NO flavor. It tasted like milk with some cinnamon sprinkled on top. The Nom Nom sandwich was a No No. It's a cheddar chive biscuit with egg, cheese, and maple syrup. It does not work. Listen, if maple syrup were good on eggs, it would be a thing. It's not. Furthermore, the way the cooked the egg was freaking weird (soft boiled?). The yolk was nasty and they did not season the egg. The maple syrup completely hid the taste of the biscuit, which made their wonderful cheddar chive biscuit pointless. They would be much better off making a basic egg and cheese biscuit. Just because you are located in Madison doesn't mean you have to try to come up with something unusual. Be yourself and show off your food! Visit 3: Got 1 cheddar chive biscuit to go. Woah. You'd think I offended the person working the counter. "That's IT???" she said, along with an eye roll. I felt as if she would have rather not I not bought anything. And the other person working also glared at me. WTF??? Normally I would give a pass, but a previous review mentioned the rudeness. I don't feel like being treated like that again, so I'm done. The only thing worth getting was the biscuit anyway. I can do without. read more

Reverie is a bright and cozy coffeehouse with solid drink options and limited seating. I visited on a Sunday afternoon, and for the three hours I was there, it remained fairly busy. The service was superb, and my barista made sure to share the seasonal drink options with me. I ordered a 12oz, oat milk latte with the seasonal pumpkin spice syrup, and it was incredible! The building is well lit, with limited seating for around 20 customers at a time. There's also two all gender, single bathrooms at the back of the building. If there's a free table, Reverie would be a perfect cafe to work remotely from. Great service, great coffee, and great vibes! read more

Came here actually for coffee and the barista did a good job! The coffee was good. Latte got a distinguishable fermented wine or ripe fruit taste thanks to the good espresso. The milk foam was nicely done. The dripped coffee used single Tanzania beans which was also pretty unique - tasted much like Kenya but milder with a bright berry / caramel flavor. Not many coffee shops will use single origin beans or they will just use the more balanced and nutty beans like Brazil, Peru or Columbia. The pastries looked great but because we just had lunch in one of the restaurants nearby we didn't try them. It's a very cute block with a few good restaurants within walking distance that you can go eat and walk here to get coffee or take pastries home. Looking forward to our next visit when we are in town. read more

Don't plan on getting any friendly greeting from anyone working here. I walked in, tripped (my fault) but not one word from anyone but they sure saw it. No friendly hello, no acknowledgement either. Actually it was almost like I was interrupting them by standing at the counter waiting to order. I was excited to try a new coffee spot by my job and get away from chains like Starbucks or Dunkin.... As I paid, she set my drink down on the register and walked away... I said "Thank you" and got a fat ol YUP. Was it because I chose not to tip? We did not exchange any words so what was this attitude for? My only tip for anyone working there is to be more kind and friendly and then just maybe you would get a tip. They were not busy by any means so no excuse really as it only takes 1second to be nice! I will never return, waste of money forsure! read more

Came to check out Reverie a few days after their grand opening and loved it! They have a case full of fresh baked goods (all fresh!) and a great selection of coffee and tea. I tried their cheddar chive biscuit and the chocolate almond scone. Both had great texture and flavor. The biscuit was crunchy around the edges, but still had fluffy center. The scone was fresh out of the oven and the chocolate was still melted! It wasn't too sweet and was so easy to eat. They serve Kin Kin coffee here and have house made syrups for lattes. The employees were kind and courteous and service was quick. The newly renovated space is nicely decorated and clean. Can't wait to come back and try something new! read more
