Let me start with the owner and the employee sent to my house were very nice; however, after hiring…read morethem to pump my septic tank I started having problems with my septic pump alarm going off and on. They came back and checked the floaters and said the floaters were fine. I called them back again because the alarm was still coming on and off. They told me the floaters needed to be replaced and quoted me $800. My husband thought that sounded high so I asked them to stop working and called our previous septic tank company. They came out right away and we learned 2 things - 1) Straight Flush only pumped one of the 2 septic tanks and did not clean the filter when they came out to pump our septic tank and 2) the floaters did not need too be replaced. Instead we had a short in the wiring from the pump to the alarm, in our crawlspace. We had the wire repaired by an electrician and that solved the problem Had my husband not stopped the work we would have paid over $800 to fix something that was not broken and then still would have had to pay an electrician to check and fix the wires. After talking to the owner I don't think we were intentionally mislead. Instead, I believe they were just guessing at what the problem "must be" and failed to rule out a wiring issue. Plus the $800 I was originally quoted by Straight Flush to replace the floater was later determined to be way above the $350 that the other local septic tank companies would have charged to replace the floater.

Clapp was to dig out old tank and lines and install new tank with new lines. He crushed down the…read moreold tank, instead of removing it, broke a bird bath by tossing it against the side of the house, along with other old pieces of the old septic he left laying against the house. Once he installed the new tank and lines, he spread the dirt just enough to cover the area. All the big branches he knocked down in the process, he tossed onto the back of my property. He didn't fill correctly as parts of the yard are now caving in. He also didn't smooth the site, reseed and cover with straw. It will cost me hundreds to clean it all up.

About a year and a half ago we called on ward brothers to help us with a septic issue. We have…read moreseptic running under our house. We called on them to A. Find our tank because our county had no records and we've not lived there long at all and bought the house from our mother. B. We needed our repair. Here's how ward brothers handled the situation. They diagnosed our problem, which was a maple tree that had grown through the old pipes. Our house was built in 1940, keep in mind. They poked around for not one day, two, but three days and not one, two, or three employees but three and the owners to try and find our tank to assess further damage. They then found two old tanks, original to the home, that were dry. Doesn't seem like a problem right? Well on that third day they brought out an excavator to uproot the tree and replace the old piping. They told us they would uproot the tree for free, which they later charged us for, and replace the pipe. So in replacing the old piping, they managed to completely tear up our yard, place new piping and then tell us we need an entire new septic system which would cost us $8000. Absolutely obsurd when the same company installed 3 new tanks for a business for just a few thousand more. Upon this news several people left to get supplies and the only honest employee told me that the brothers, THE OWNERS OF THE COMPANY, wanted to leave our open septic system until another day and not even finish repiping the system COMPLETELY! Which we paid over $800 for. And to top everything off, had they looked 3 more feet to the right of where there looked for the tank to begin with, they would have found our septic tank. And to add insult to injury several employees left garbage laying in our yard and stole our shovel and seemed to laugh the entire way through this process. I would NEVER recommend these guys to anyone. Why we were cheated and treated so poorly is beyond me. But thanks for the inconvenience. Oh and did mention that when we actually had a reputable company come assess their shoddy work, they had done a shoddy job. Wow.
