Dripping Springs was a wonderful place to stay and felt just like home. There was a river right outside our back door, and a great big area to play catch/have a campfire/sit and have a picnic, etc. The rooms were all very nicely decorated and maintained, and even the pullout couch was comfortable to sleep on! There were some essentials like coffee and sugar already stocked in the cupboards and a nice gift bag for each guest when we arrived. We had a big front porch overlooking a covered driveway for our car and a hot tub in the back yard too! All in all, this place was wonderful, and very close to Estes Park shops and Rocky Mountain National Park. read more

This is the perfect place to unwind. The cabins are well appointed, neat and clean. The river flows outside your doors, comfortable chairs and fire pits line the riverbank. Trout are there for the fishermen and small prongs are available for toasting marshmallows. When you venture to the village for supplies don't forget the steaks to broil on the gas grills at each unit placed near the hot tub. There is a cute store on cite, Don't bring money as almost all the small item you may need are inside. This is a jewel well worth the visit. read more

Dripping Springs is now part of the 'Field Guide' collection of airbnb type accomodations. We liked the room just fine, we rented out the Lodgepole suite which I do recommend as it was on the end of the suites, with the firepit right next to it and a hot tub with a river view. It was nicely decorated and cozy, and the hot tub was super nice to soak in after a long day of hiking. There were a ton of pillows on the bed so it was very comfy and the bedding was nice. I also thought the rations room was a great touch - there were some snacks, lots of goodies for your dogs, hiking guides, board games, etc. The walls are thin and the decks are set close together so we honestly could hear every word our neighbors spoke (and I'm sure they did us). It's also pet friendly so we heard some dogs barking as well. So it's not the absolute best regarding privacy. Our room was clean but you are expected to strip the whole bed and take out the trash. My husband was very annoyed because upon checking out, he discovered that there was a broken prong in the outlet by his side of the bed which was a fire and safety risk. It definitely seems like a place where you're kind of left on your own - we didn't see a host or any staff the two days we were there. Which really was fine with us but I would just be aware in case you're expecting a ton of amentities or help. The shower is also very small but it was mentioned in the listing so it also wasn't really a bother. Wifi worked fine but I had close to zero cell service. Overall, it was cute and we enjoyed our stay. We were in the park the majority of the time so we didn't spend a ton of time in our room. It's 10 minutes from downtown Estes and it took around 20 minutes to get to the park entrances. It was a good value for the money, especially with a private hot tub. Hotels in Estes tend to be kind of the on the ridiculous side of expensive so I was pretty happy with everything and willing to overlook smaller issues. read more

We've stayed here a couple times before and weren't sure what to expect from the new management, but they seem to be keeping the place up nicely! They have moved to a "contactless" experience with a well-appointed supply room open to guests, but they also promptly show up to attend to any issues you might run into with the cabins - the best of both worlds as far as I'm concerned! The prices have gone up a bit since 2019 but then, what hasn't? You'd still be hard pressed to find a cheaper rental and the location here just absolutely can't be beat. Looking forward to coming back again. read more

After a perfectly nice 2018 visit, I booked a 2019 stay here on VRBO and it was a total mess of incompetence and malice. I arrived to find that the owner (Jayne) had double-booked, and was not able to accommodate me. That was already a huge bummer, as it was 8 pm on a weekend night and lodging in Estes isn't that easy to come by. She was not at all apologetic and kept blaming me, the booking service, etc, when the reality is that she had to manually accept our booking and had just failed to update her calendar. She was also pretty unkind in telling us what she believed our next steps should be. After about an hour of us trying to figure out a place to stay, during which we believed she was not going to help at all, we got a surprise call from her that she'd identified a hotel with an available room. Cool, that's nice, and eventually she managed to get us a refund from VRBO. And then..... SHE LEFT US A ONE STAR REVIEW. She messed up her booking, blamed me and the booking service for it, was unkind to guests she had screwed over late in the evening, and then left us a one star review. She gave us one star for things that she could not possibly have any information about, like cleanliness. I had planned not to review her because, you know, people can screw up, why hurt her livelihood, but someone who reacts to guests like this needs to get out of the hospitality business. read more

Wow. I booked a stay in the Encantado cabin with my husband, my brother and my sister in law. We had a fabulous time. The location of the cabin is PERFECT. You can hear the river quietly from your room and you fall asleep listening to the gorgeous sounds of the forest around the cabin. The resort is about 8 minutes from town and 12ish minutes to RMNP. We saw some wildlife on the grounds- bunnies, squirrels, and elk. The cabin itself is so ADORABLE! Pinterest worthy! It's cozy and inviting, with a wonderful clean hot tub featuring great views of the stars on the porch and a there's a heater in the bathroom!! Each cabin has its own private area to relax next to the river which is wonderful on a cool evening. They have lighted pathways that make you feel like you're in a fairytale story at night. My sister in law and I purchased massages with Scott on the grounds and it was AMAZING after a long hike! The massage room is super cute and comfortable and right on the river! Every staff member we met ensured we were having a great time and everyone went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. 5/5 I will be staying at this resort for years to come! I made my reservation on Airbnb and I arrived and was told I had no reservation. New owners, and apparently there was a lack of communication between the old and new owners. The new owners had rented the cabin I had reserved and paid for to another person. If your reservation with Airbnb is with Jayne, watch out! It is likely you no longer have a reservation! They gave me a room for the night, which I appreciate, as it is hard to get lodging near here. The bathroom had mold, and it was noisy. I was told there was nothing they could do, and they gave me a partial refund, and said they could not refund my fees. I lodged a complaint with Airbnb. The property is beautiful. However the new owners could use some advice in business, competency, and solution-finding. read more

This place is a hidden treasure!! My wife and I - and Dakota (our Labrador retriever) visited Dripping Springs this past week. It was the perfect getaway. We have traveled to CO for many years and have become a little spoiled. Here are our "must haves" when we visit. 1.) rustic cabin on river. 2.) privacy. 3.) dog friendly. 4.) fire pit Dripping Springs has all of these amenities and many more including private hot tub and 5 minutes from Estes and the entrance of RMNP. Stayed here last summer with my lover. Had an amazing, quiet night. And Jeanine made the one of the best breakfast's I have ever had. God bless that woman. Her and her husband had made a great team and a great get-away for people to break from city life and take in a little slow down. Would recommend this place over and over. I've been a guest at Dripping Springs for way over 10 years and obviously, I love it. If I wanted the Hilton or Marriott or fancy-dancy I'd go there, but I want rustic, laid-back, in the trees and near water. This is my happy place. Jayne and Oliver are the best!! I had made my reservation here and was so looking forward to a nice peaceful vacation. Unfortunately, my son had a seizure and three days prior to our trip I had to cancel. They charged me IN FULL for the cost of the entire stay! That was $766 down the drain! This left a really bad feeling for me about this place and I had never even been there. My advice for this place is to avoid it and make your reservation somewhere else. There seem to be so many other places in this area to choose from. read more

People that complain about this place are just ridiculous. If you're doing a cabin in the mountains, chances are you want a secluded, bare minimum feel! Yes its small, but for two people, our cabin was perfect! Hot tub, grill, private fire pit and right on the river! The owners are always around to help or supply what you need! We waded in the river (wear shoes! ), roasted hot dogs over the fire, cooked on the grill, and spent hours in the hot tub looking at the stars. Perfect relaxing weekend! We stayed in the Dancing Bear cabin. It was cool because we were very close to the Big Thompson, so got to hang out at the fire pit by the river quite a lot. However for the price it was seriously lacking in amenities. For over $320/night, I expected some basics like streaming wifi, a dishwasher, a premium cable channel or two, perhaps breakfast (which you only get if you stay in a room, not a cabin), and a working water heater (there were four of us because it's a four person cabin. But the heater is only good for two short showers). We also had mechanical problems with our sleep number bed (which was a very old model and not as cool as they say on the website) and our hot tub which didn't work until our final day there. YES, it's super cool to have such easy access to the river. We spent a lot of time down there. But my sister, who also had easy access to the river, paid as much for a far more luxurious cabin with more amenities such as a dishwasher, Netflix, and better internet. read more

This is place is definitely a place that I would return to. After personal greetings when checking in from the owners--we toured the well manicured grounds. Such beautiful, relaxing views by the river. We LOVED the hammock and the chairs set up along the river bank. We stayed in the Moon Seeker room--full of charm and character!! Clean, comfortable, and little extras like the sleep number bed and even a sound machine. Hot tub was amazing after a long day of hiking in the park. My husband and I stayed two nights here last August (I just learned about yelp...so that's why there is a delay in the review) and we were totally impressed by EVERYTHING. Our room, while small - but that's what we were looking for- was very warmly decorated and the bed was very comfortable. Bathroom was clean and all the towels smelled fresh. The layout felt like we were a million miles from the stress of the rest of the world with plenty of flowers and native plants, hanging baskets and small planned gardens around the property. Walking access to the river and plenty of hammocks and benches around for everyone. But that is not the best part.... If you are like me, than when you hear bed and breakfast you first think...I wonder what the breakfast will be. Let me assure you this place could run its own restaurant. Both days my husband and I were blown away with the amount, type and quality of the items served. I'm talking...hearty, homemade country breakfasts that you would pay through the nose for at most established eateries. The staff was very friendly and knew the area so well that I felt we had personal travel agents. Instantly took to them and felt like they enhanced our stay with their stories and warm welcoming personalities. Thank you John and Brenda! We did not get a chance to meet he owner as they were out of town...but maybe next time...I'm sure we'll be back! read more

my wife and I stayed 2 nights and 1 day in the "Moon Seeker" cabin. It was a cozy little thing with a nice king size sleep number bed, bathroom, small fridge, and a hot tub on a private deck. the owners are very hospitable, and breakfast was filling and tasty. The grounds are well kept, and there is at least one good trail nearby, although we did not get a chance to check it out. Estes park is a 5 minute drive away on highway 34. I can't comment on price, as I made a point of letting my wife take care of the financials in order to avoid acute depression... read more

I made reservations back at this place over a year ago but had to reschedule. We rescheduled for September of last year but our plans were unexpectedly cancelled due to the flooding, so I was very happy that we finally got to use our reservations this weekend. I was slightly disappointed that our room had changed from our first reservation and we were left to the Aspen room with no view or hot tub. However the owner, Janey, allowed us to use the hot tub next door the night we arrived as the room was vacant that night, so that was very nice. They also stayed open late for us as we arrived after their normal hours due to traffic and heavy rain. The atmosphere is beautiful and you can tell it's well maintained. Janey is so nice and friendly and makes you feel right at home when you walk in the door. Make sure you get breakfast in the morning. We skipped it the first day to sleep in but now wish we hadn't. It's all delicious homemade food served family style. Definitely not your normal breakfast you would expect anywhere else. If we go back to Estes I'll definitely stay here again, but I'll make sure that I can get one of the rooms overlooking the river with a hot tub as the location is incredible. read more
