Located only a few minutes outside the park and downtown, the lodge sits atop a hill and offers lots of peace and quiet. Our standard suite must have been recently renovated because it had a nice, modern bathroom. We loved the kitchenette complete with a stove, microwave, sink and fridge and wished we could have made more use of it than just microwaving some leftovers and brewing a pot of coffee! The suite also had a cozy little living room/sitting area. There is no AC (but there was a fan) so it can get hot and stuffy during the summer. If you like the craftsman style buildings, you'll dig this one. The lobby was definitely historical. It even boasted paraphernalia on the man who built it, etc. We thought the game room was pretty cool, complete with a pool table, as well as, you guessed it...games. There's also an outdoor pool (although the heater wasn't working while we were there) and fire pit sitting area. At $277/night plus $12 resort fee/night, this is one of the pricier options in the area.

We stayed at the Crag's lodge for 3 nights for my daughter's wedding that was there in Estes Park. I read the reviews of both this place and reviews of The View restaurant...I will say this about anyone who posts a negative review: go back to where you came from and leave the negativity off your reviews! This lodge opened in 1914 and they've done a great job to keep it all functioning without losing the historical charm. If the location, view and uniqueness aren't enough then you'll be overwhelmed by the caring and helpful nature of the staff. This isn't a Marriott so don't expect it to be one, but everyone we dealt with was accommodating and helpful; I just can't say enough about the compliments we received from our guests about the location and accommodations. Now, about the restaurant onsite, The View. Michael and his staff created a special menu and went all out to help make our dinner event memorable. The filet was amazing, and the cobbler... I had no idea you could make a cobbler taste that good! Impressed. And don't let the lodgy feeling tables and chairs get in the way of your thinking, they totally bring the whole experience together and cement a memory about the time spent here that you will remember fondly and wonder when next you'll find your way to The Crag's Lodge with dinner at The View! Great job all!

We stayed with our children in a two bedroom/2 bath suite with a kitchenette. It fit our needs perfectly and at a great price. The staff had excellent recommendations for local food and activities. They were very accommodating and had a pack and play we used (we forgot ours). The downstairs has an activity room filled with board games, movies, books, and a pool table. At night they have the supplies and fire to make s'mores in the lobby. It is a quiet and serene location, perfect for a getaway with or without the family!

I married my Lovely here at the Historic Crag's Lodge on 24 June 2017. Jessica was very helpful and the staff was friendly and on point. The only thing that I didn't like was the price of the rooms, several out of state family and friends stayed here for the weekend, the rooms are small, a little outdated for the price. Other than that, a great place with amazing back drops for a wedding.

For our Colorado trip, last September, we decided to stay at the Crags lodge in Estes Park. This is a 100 year-old hotel. We were told it was remodeled around the 50s ( remodeled again since of course) and the wife of the owner wanted to preserve the romantic crows foot bath tube and we happened to stay at the only remaining one in the hotel. Not fancy but cool fact. The rooms are divided into sort of living area and bedroom, there's no AC and I guess this is more common in CO because of the temp and if the hotels have AC, they may not always use it. Didn't try the restaurant so can't comment on that. They advise not to leave food in your car because of the Bears... Overall we enjoyed our stay, was for one night anyway. Cool old little place.

The bathroom is tiny. It doesn't have any hooks for the towels or hand towels... The balconies overlooking the river are nice (but there are many, many places to stay along the creek that are updated and clean looking). The pool is a nice touch but it's old and looks like someone DIY-ed years ago. The vending machine didn't work with any of my bills when my very pregnant body needed a bottle of water. I popped in to check out the continental breakfast and walked out with only a tea. Just a bunch of cheap, sugary products (donettes, nutrigrain bars, hostess danishes). And I thought we were getting a great rate so it was worth staying at this older place but the very nice 3 star hotel yards away is the same price!! Like it's *fine*. It's certainly not worthy of 5 stars.

We didn't visit the pool/tub atrium that overlooks the breakfast area but it looks nice! Will return whenever in Estes and looking for a quick night getaway for a cheap price. Room and property are dated but the friendly staff, proximity to downtown, and price meets our expectations.

The hotel is rich in history. Everywhere you look there is charm. We stayed in the "Cowboy Attic Suite". My mom immediately had an "experience". I heard a grandfather clock chime throughout our stay. I never saw one and forgot to ask where it was located. I love old clocks. My aunt had her own experience that woke her from her sleep. Everyone we encountered was nice and we appreciated the cander as we asked for their stories/experiences there. The bad....for what we paid, it was not worth it. The floor feels dirty. It is as though they have not thought to clean the carpets in quite some time. Under the bed is a nice layer of dust. The whole hotel could use a moist cloth and a good wipe down. The dust in the display cases throughout the hotel is obvious and off putting. We met Hannibal. Wish we would have booked the seance, but alas, we ran out of time. He was a hoot to talk to.

It's a beautiful setting, but several issues impacted my experience. First, I felt the advertising was a bit misleading. I saw a pool listed on Orbitz, but I discovered there isn't a pool anywhere on the property. Instead, there are two above-ground hot tubs. I went to the one on the second level, but I found climbing the narrow metal stairs with wet feet to be a bit dangerous. I also noticed that the rooms are slightly dated and showing their age. In my room, the curtain rod was actually falling out of the wall, which told me they need to keep up with better maintenance. You should also know there is no lobby or front desk here; I just received a code via text message and entered it to get into my room. While efficient, it felt a bit impersonal. My biggest complaint, however, was the construction noise. I didn't realize they are currently expanding the inn and building two new buildings on the same lot. Unfortunately, my room was right next to the construction site, and I had to deal with loud noise all morning. I think this place has a lot of potential once the upgrades are done, but between the maintenance issues and the noise, I didn't find it to be the relaxing getaway I was hoping for.

This place is literally nestled on a side of a mountain w other little resort around. The check in process was so cute. Katie checked us in gave us some yummy cookies and I even bought a cute 4seasons inn sticker to put on my car. The room we booked was a private suite w a private spa grill and seating area. There is seating area by the grill and by the spa. And it's also on the 2nd floor just an fyi if you're wheel chair bound or whatever limitations you may have. The thing I love about this place is it's literally less than 5 mins from the National park and far enough away to be secluded but 8 mins from EVERYTHING in town.
