The main reason I love this studio so much is for Nicole's focus on alignment in her practice. She takes a piece of inspiration and builds the practice around that, whether it's grounding, hip openers, restorative, arms, etc. It's awesome to be able to work at perfecting my form and feel like I get serious strength building and stretch it out in a well-paced class mixing it up between poses (versus repetitive vinyasa). She also diffuses essentials oils during the class, which is super refreshing and makes the whole studio smell great. Her prices are very reasonable -- try a drop in ($13) and if you like it, get a class pass (10 for $115). She has yoga mats, blankets, blocks, and straps. It's also cool to see they're hosting wellness based classes too like DIY chapstick and lotion making classes. Great studio! Highly recommended. Nicole, the owner, is a deeply considerate and kind person. I always enjoy taking her classes and always leave class refreshed, happy, and healthy. Great work out, too. She offers a variety of pose options for those who want to challenge themselves and for those who need to take it easy. Recently, she just started a Pay-What-You-Can style class - you pay whatever you can afford, making yoga accessible to everyone. Suggested payscale is $5-10 which is more than reasonable. She also offers weekly wellness classes that I love to go to whenever I can. Last time, we made 2 big organic, toxic free jars of body butter that I am still enjoying. I absolutely love practicing yoga at Yoga Drish Ti with owner and teacher Nicole. I was new to yoga in January when I started, and I was quickly hooked. Nicole is a phenomenal teacher. The environment at Yoga Drish Ti is completely non-intimidating. It is a small community practice with fairly small class sizes, so you get a lot of 1:1 hands on teaching. Nicole is able to teach to everyone's ability in the room. If you are new to yoga or have physical limitations she is able to teach a preliminary pose, modification, or includes the use of a prop so you are able participate fully and comfortably while being safe and growing in your own practice. At the same time she is able to teach and prepare other students for more difficult poses and positions as they are ready. The variety of yoga Nicole teaches, called Iyengar, and its number one focus is alignment and minimizing the risk of injury. I have learned so much about my body and anatomy from Nicole's teachings. I am now 25 weeks pregnant and attribute feeling so good throughout my pregnancy in great part to the physical practice of yoga and staying active, as well as the mental components to yoga; having an activity I do solely for myself, and the meditation and relaxation it provides. Usually flexibility, mobility and balance diminish when pregnant, but in large part mine has improved, or at lease diminished at a much slower rate. Yoga Drish Ti is more than a "yoga studio". It is a complete Wellness Center. Nicole holds community wellness events throughout the month for those engaged or interested in learning about other holistic practices such as the use of essential oils, reiki, growing plants, and healthy living in general. Nicole was very open and welcoming from start to finish. Before I had come in, I emailed her about some concerns of mine and not only did she respond quickly but her explanations and eagerness sealed the deal for me and I decided to take a class. I showed up early so she could show me modifications in order for me to get the most without feeling intimidated. The class went with a nice flow and she was helpful in correcting my poses. She even lifted my body in the air for me when I asked for help. They have family yoga there which I'm looking forward to bringing my daughter (full of games, music and stories). It's a new business and hopefully it sticks around. I feel I should also mention how clean the floor was. No dust bunnies. A must in the yoga world I suppose! read more

Before this location existed I went to try out a class with a friend in a warehouse like building. We got horribly lost and when we walked in a few minutes late, there were two others in the class, the class had just started and the teacher informed me that the class had already started and basically told me to leave. I can't say very much about the actual quality of the teacher because unfortunately I was unable to practice that wintry evening but I will not be returning because I found her to be incredibly unfriendly and unwelcoming. I did yoga in the park at highland park with some friends. It was an ok yoga session and bring in the park was awesome. I didn't love it tho, so I probably will look for yoga elsewhere. I wish there were more options for yoga outdoors. read more

These guys are good honest people who have a passion and a love for teaching and living Yoga. Kay has been a Goddess-send to me. A physical therapist by trade, a yoga teacher with a passion for sharing calmness and strength. I know she is going to be able to work with me, helping me to do the postures so as to help and not hurt my back in yoga class and outside. So how about it everyone? Rise and Shine Yoga, Wed mornings 7-8am. A great way to start the day! One on one attention and helpful relaxing instruction on practical correct body and yoga position alignment without stressing or straining. I have rarely felt that comfortable and relaxed about receiving one on one sometimes hands on instruction as I have received from Kay. She is very helpful and gentle. You do not feel zoned in upon as if the whole class is looking at you. She shares better ways to do a posture and if she wants to show you hands on instruction, as is common in yoga she asks your permission and it is a question. I like that I feel I can say no or that I can't so it that way. She always listens and respects and is gentle. She respects my body and what feels comfortable, what I can and can not do. I am learning correct ways of positioning my body, in yoga poses and in life. Thanks to Kay I know I will be standing up straighter and more relaxed, fluid and flexible. These are the special things that I am found in Yoga DrishTi that I appreciate. read more
