Angels Are at Driskell's Appliance & TV Replacing my older built-in dishwasher turned into an ordeal I never expected. After researching countless models and visiting the big-box stores, I finally chose one and ordered it online from a large warehouse club. I paid in full, scheduled delivery, and waited--only to have the installer arrive and immediately tell me he couldn't install it because my dishwasher was hardwired. Even though the wiring was right there, he refused, and then simply left. Trying to solve the problem, I called an electrician, only to learn that--because of the layout of my kitchen--a GFCI outlet under the sink wouldn't even be reachable. The dishwasher had to remain hardwired. No major store was willing to do that, so I had no choice but to return the dishwasher. I still needed one, but I was out of options. Then I found Driskell's--and that's where the angels truly are. Gail was my first angel. She didn't hesitate for a second: "Of course we can hardwire it. Most homes are." She then price-matched a competitor on an even better model--more features, better quality, and still affordable. When the first unit arrived with damage right out of the box and later failed, Natalie became my second angel. She took ownership of the situation immediately. Instead of making me battle the manufacturer, she handled everything herself and arranged a full replacement. She genuinely wanted me to be happy with my purchase, and her commitment went far beyond anything a chain store would ever offer. My replacement dishwasher is a gem--quiet, reliable, and beautifully installed. But the real treasure is discovering a local store that truly stands behind its customers. We were in need of purchasing a refrigerator, washer and dryer for our new home. The big box stores Home depot and Lowes had delivery delays of 3 to 6 weeks (way to long). As we entered the store we were greeted by Mike he was very nice and pleasant (that's always a good start). We told him what we were looking for he showed us a few appliances at different price points and explained the difference. Mike is very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. We purchased an LG refrigerator, washer and dryer. Our appliances were delivered in a week and a half. The store is clean and well maintained there is plenty of parking. The customer service was exceptional and made for a pleasant shopping experience. read more

I really wanted to like this place. I needed a washer and dryer and wanted to put the money back into our local community, especially a small business considering the times (COVID). I had completely forgotten about Driskell's and noticed them again after driving down town. I called immediately to see if they were open and a female answered the phone. I proceeded to tell her that I was in need of a washer and dryer and would be purchasing by the end of the month. She seemed totally unenthused with my call. I actually felt like I was bothering HER. She proceeded to tell me they did not have the washer and dryer I was looking for and that it would take them months to get it in, which is fine. I was so surprised that she made NO effort to try and get me into the store to at least look at what they had. I would have been more than willing to listen to someone else's expertise about what I needed to purchase, especially if they could have shown me something better or comparable in my price range. Needless to say my $2,200 business went to Lowe's. I really hope that this business is able to make it, and if not I can't say I'll be surprised. February 2, 2021 Thank you for the response Gerard. Bought a dishwasher from them, I was a little worried that it was not name brand but the salesman told me it's mother company is whirlpool. I've had it for 3 weeks and it's incredibly quiet the last one we bought from Sears made a loud whooshing sound. Over all I am again satisfied and happy with another purchase from them. He mentioned that he's going to be a first time dad, and was very polite over the phone. My husband calls with questions and they are always knowledgeable about their appliances. I wish I could give zero stars! I called and inquired about a dishwasher and asked If they provided free installation with purchase the person first of all laughed rudely! At the end of the conversation I had to hang up the phone, he was rude, unprofessional arrogant and condescending! I was referred by my best friend and I was happy she was there when I made the call because it's unbelievable! His last words were "then go to Lowe's" in a very rude tone! We walked in on Sunday just before closing time (which I felt bad about). I needed a part for my dryer but decided to just purchase a new dryer. The people working were very friendly and helpful. They didn't mind that it was just before closing and the whole thing took about 10 minutes including them loading it into my van. I just want to say this store is amazing! I highly recommend Driskell's appliance store and Gail is the hidden gem within. When I first went in I was filling my washing machine with a garden hose and hanging my clothes to dry. My 20yr old Kenmores were done. Some people will go to great lengths not to go to a laundrymat, I am one. Gail took such good care of us and and went out of her way to make sure we were taken care of pre-covid. Fast forward 6mo later we had a house fire and lost everything. I knew right away that I was going to Driskell's for ALL of my appliances. We had to replace everything. The purchases were a bit tricky we were paying for everything in three different ways all in one order, cash, financing, and insurance and Gail never batted an eye. As difficult as it was she managed it all with ease even during covid. We knew it would be difficult with everything back ordered and limited resources. We knew it would take longer than normal, but Driskell's has been great, and Gail fantastic! We are still waiting on one last appliance (Speed Queen dryer) but it will arrive when it arrives. In the meantime Gail personally keeps me updated either with a call or texts even after hours. Nothing beats good ol fashioned customer service, not even prices which they will match. I'm telling you if you want good appliances at a fair price with personal customer service Driskell's is the place to go and Gail is the one to see. My large freezer started leaking water last night. First thing this morning I drove to Driskell's. I found the freezer I wanted. Michael wrote it up, with a promise I would get it later today. My freezer has medical food for my grandson. Michael had the guys plug my new freezer in at the warehouse so it would be cold for a quick food transfer when delivered. I paid at 8:30 am and had my new cold freezer by 1:30 this afternoon. Great service all around. The delivery guys are extra special. They helped transfer food. read more

I know I'm used to the "Main Big Name" appliance stores such as Home Depot and Lowe's. But I was fed up with going to those big chain stores and I decided to check Driskell's out. Let me tell you, I was extremely happy I decided on Driskell's! From the moment I stepped in through the doors, I experienced some of the Best Customer Service I had ever experienced. The staff was extremely friendly and knowledgable on their appliances. The owner of the store (Michael Harris) came out and introduced himself. Who does that now a days?! Very few places that I can recall. He answered all my questions and concerns I had. I let him know what a great place and staff he had and thanked him for his help. I prefer to do my appliance shopping at Driskell's from now. Driving from Tulare to Hanford won't be an issue for me since I know what kind of service and prices I'll be receiving. I wish I could give them 10 stars. Just purchased a Speed Queen washer due to my Samsung being a lemon (outstanding washer after 10 loads the first day). I have been to the old store, but have never purchased anything from Driskell's before, went there because they are the authorized Speed Queen dealer, I will certainly return for my next appliance purchase. Here's why. Friendly customer service, right when I entered the store I was greeted and attended too with a friendly, happy disposition, not breathing down my neck and the hard sale. I knew what I wanted and was directed to it right off the bat, not hassles or hard sales. When I explained I was awaiting the decision by American Home Shield regarding my washer that could not be fixed after 3 visits and 50 days by Cal Valley Appliance repair. The owner Mike explained that the washer was in stock and could be mine today if I wanted to take it home, he would wait on our payment till later (What not treated like a I trying to steal something). That was 2:30 pm, when my wife got off work at 4:00 we went over at 4:30, we decided to purchase the machine and have it delivered. Mike said it was too late today but we can have first thing Monday morning, when I told him our address and asked financing, he said I know that house and we could work out financing later. We asked about interest free finance and were told to fill out the form and return at our leisure, the machine would be delivered either way. Are you kidding, that's not Home Depot or Lowes. Talked about it Friday night and decided let's just pay cash, went by the store Saturday and Mikes wife Natalie was even nicer, we paid and the delivery was set for Monday at 9:00 am. Machine came delivery guys were great, took care not the mess our house and were in and out in 10 minutes. My wife and I just want to say that we appreciate the service and trust in us, we are dedicated residents in Hanford and really like to spend our money at businesses in town, sometimes it hard as the owners don't always make you feel like an honest customer. I have slight OCD as I over research everything and try to save $5.00 when I in fact I spend much more gas and time. Well needless to say I will be back to Driskell's they have sold me with the service and friendly care, starting with the owners down to all their staff. Thank you. read more

Owner run business, is eager to help you get what you want and need. Lots of competition in this area is not a problem. Driskells offers a very good variety of various appliances and will get you almost anything at a very competitive price. Corporate conglomerates like Home Depot an Lowes cannot come close to or compete with the personal service that you will experience at Driskells. I recently got a new gas stove from Driskells. Driskells gave me new ideas like an over the stove microwave, giving me more space and a happier wife. All in all, we are extremely happy with what we got and the price. Installation was nominal and fair, not a fixed 'rip-off' like his competition. I'm brief, there is no better owner run ' mom n pop' place anywhere I that I know of. read more

I bought a stove for my rental unit from this place. I go to pick it up and there's a dent on the side of the stove. The assure me that a new panel will be ordered and delivered to me within a few days. I am on week number two and nobody has yet to even follow up with me. Just moved to Hanford wanted to shop local saw Driskele's. Decided to check it out and that was our best decision Natalie was very helpful we don't know nothing about refrigerators and she showed her knowledge and was very sweet. I actually feel in love with the LG but they didn't have the color I wanted she said "no problem" she ordered the style I wanted in the color I wanted. I was disappointed with the selection and prices at the big box stores and my previous awesome experiences here brought me back! They didn't have the size I was looking for in stock but Natalie found one and had it in the store waiting for me the very next day. Our interactions with this company was horrible! They did not come when they scheduled, they installed the appliance wrong, thus casing problems. They would not honor the warranty and said the installation/problem was our fault, that we must have done something to it. They do not return calls and the owners are very rude. I am very disappointed with the lack of customer service. When a problem occurred with my dishwasher, the owner did not even have the professionalism to return a phone call regarding the issue within a timely manner. When addressing the issue in person, he was very short and irritated. I am making it a personal goal to make sure everyone I know is aware of the poor customer service that Driskell's offers. I am very disappointed in their service since I feel that it is important to give my business to a local business, however, I regret my decision.
