Unfortunately, the dealership outsourced this and the body shop failed to do their job properly and the paint started to peel. Hyundai or the body shop would not cover the peeling paint. That meant I had to look elsewhere to get the job done a second time. The first body shop, was closing down to move and would not take any business. The second was ridiculously overpriced, quoting me nearly three times as much as what Javier estimated the repair at. It was Shift'n Gears, next door that recommended Calderon's Body Repairs, now I know why. I brought the car in and his wife took the info and pictures and a day later I had received a quote. I was surprised that the estimate, so much I immediately replied with, "when can I drop it off?' It took parts of four days, but the turnaround time was quick. More importantly was the quality of the work. It honestly looked like a new car. I picked it up and it had been washed and detailed and looked great! I was very happy with the work done on the bumper and driver's door handle. Would I use Calderon's again? Hell yes! They stand out by being amazingly candid, genuine, and compassionate. Let me convey an example. My truck was totaled by my best friend's wife who successfully avoided a deer only to encounter an oak tree. We had the truck towed to the only place geico recommended, Team Auto. When the independent tow company came, they said, "oh you're going to Team? They're the absolute best here. They do excellent work." I figured that perhaps they were insincere and working the two companies in concert. Didn't believe them.. Yet. Then later that evening after dropping of the truck I went to a grocery store and was chatting with the store manager about the day and my truck. He wouldn't stop going on and on about how he thought Team Auto was the very best around. It seems like from my small sample size here, the town of Paso Robles loves Team Auto! But that's not all. My experience with Ed was out of this world. In a great way. Since I live four hours away, I wanted my mechanic to work on my truck locally at home. This needed a long distance tow to make happen. Even though it meant that Ed would lose me as a client, he went out of his way to call all his friends to find me the best price for a tow of 250 miles. While we were waiting, he personally drove me over to the uhaul dealer and waited with me supportively while I inquired about renting a tow dolly to tow it up myself. He was genuinely helpful and altruistic, but not at all in the "used car salesman" kind of way. Ed and his team are top notch. While talking with him, I saw pictures of some beautiful cars he built and painted for celebrities like Jerry Seinfeld and Jay Leno. These are real car guys and if they choose Team Auto, rest assured they've done their research. Also, Team Auto apparently built one of the batman cars for one of the Batman movies! They're passionate about what they do and it's obvious that they don't look at their job as work, but rather it's a pleasure for them to make each repair a work of "art". My car was towed here in November for overheating. I paid $565 for what I was told were the necessary repairs. However, the car overheated again almost immediately because the original problem was never actually fixed. Upon inspection, it appeared the thermostat had never been replaced. Because the shop failed to perform the initial repair correctly, my engine was severely damaged and completely failed, requiring a full engine replacement that cost thousands of dollars. When I went back, the owner tried to quote me $5,000 for a new engine to fix the damage his own negligence caused. I filed a formal complaint with the Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR). Following their investigation, the owner was forced to refund my $565 because he could not produce a single receipt or proof of what work he had supposedly done the first time. I ended up taking my car elsewhere to have the engine replaced. Do not take your vehicle here. Their lack of transparency and failure to perform basic repairs resulted in major mechanical failure for my car.

Booked an appointment for 8 am drop. Both the owner and the son were there and refused to acknowledge me because it was before 9am. I literally wanted to talk to them about possibly replacing the deck and spending more money in the shop as well as installing a subwoofer. After I was ignored by the owner and dismissed by his son, I decided to go with my gut. I took back the $300 worth of speakers and will now be taking my money to a professional shop. Sidenote, I was a return customer and have spent a couple thousand dollars at the shop before even though the customer service was not much better in my previous experience and the work was shoddy and ended up continually draining my battery Honestly it's my fault, I've had a poor experience every time. It's the only shop in Paso. Someone please fill a need and open a new shop
