I received an invoice and contract, and while the contract did state they could cancel due to weather, I was in constant communication with them all week about the rain. I sent pictures of where the setup would be, discussed the weather multiple times, and spoke with them the day before the event. They even confirmed the morning of the party at 9:26 that there would be no issues. The party was scheduled to start at 3:00 PM. At 11:20 AM that same day, I received a call from the owner's husband saying there was too much rain and they could not come out because it would compromise their equipment. This was extremely upsetting, especially since the rain forecast had been known all week and they continued to reassure and confirm up until that morning. When I expressed how upset I was and explained that this ruined my daughter's birthday plans, his response was, "Well actually, we didn't ruin it," which I found very unprofessional given the circumstances. I was so upset that I ended the call. I understand weather-related policies, but the lack of consistency, last-minute cancellation, and dismissive response made this a very disappointing experience, especially for a milestone event like a Sweet 16.

I'm very sorry to see that the only 2 reviews (prior to mine) had a bad experience!…read more We went this last Saturday night and saw Elf at the drive-in. It was WONDERFUL!!!! No glitches, no skips, wonderful movie quality and so much fun!! The event opens at 5:00 but the movie doesn't start until 7:30. We arrived at 5:30 to have dinner and get a good spot. There were quite a few people already there and since we were in a big full sized pick-up, we had to park over to the side a bit (or way in the back). I get it, and remembered that was how it was "back in the day" when we would go to the drive-in. We brought a big bluetooth speaker with AM/FM controller, so we were able to tune in and hear it in awesome volume as we sat bundled up in our Christmas blankets in the back of the truck. We brought in food, popcorn, movie candy and drinks, that way we wouldn't have to leave the security of the bed of our truck. It was SO MUCH FUN!! There were portable bathrooms with hand washing stations, concession stand with popcorn and lemonade, plus they kept all cars a good 6 feet apart and encouraged mask wearing when not in our vehicle. However, should you be concerned about others wearing a mask or not, bring your own food (plus it's cheaper) and stay snuggled in your car. That's what drive-ins are for anyway (wink wink) We did have to run to the restroom, but we didn't come in contact with anyone and people kept their distance. People were bringing in food from surrounding restaurants; BJs Brewery, Cheesecake Factory, Olive Garden, etc. We even saw a few people with portable heaters. Everyone seemed to have so much fun! Kids and adults were in pajamas and holiday attire. It was a great way to kick off our holiday season! We were slightly annoyed with the late-comer movie attenders. Who shows up at the drive-in 10-15 minutes before the show starts??? C'mon. The show didn't start until 7:45 because the presenters were kind enough to hold everyone up because these people weren't courteous enough to plan ahead. On the bright side, there were no movie previews, the movie just starts and you're good to go!! Please plan on being early or on time. I heard one of the attendants say that they will be back with another round of movies in January, we will DEFINITELY be back!!! So incredibly fun. $35/carload ($40 total with fees, etc). CHEERS!!!

The last time I'd been to a drive-in movie I was so young that I hardly remember the experience…read more When I heard about the "Starlite Drive-In Movie" events, I was very excited to experience an actual drive-in movie, & couldn't wait to finally enjoy a "mini-outing break from quarantine" from the safety & comfort of our vehicle. This is why I am sad to write this review with such a low rating... With "pop-up" events held in various locations in Orange County, CA (Brea, Irvine, & San Clemente), "Starlite" currently features family-friendly Halloween movies to watch on a big screen from the safety & comfort of your own vehicle. Although they're not currently showing recently released movies, I was excited to see one of my favorite dark romantic animated films "Corpse Bride," just in time for Halloween. It's a really cool concept to go & enjoy a drive-in movie --- especially for those who are unable to visit a traditional indoor theater due to the COVID-19 pandemic, & it was advertised that social distancing & face-coverings (if you are outside your vehicle) are "enforced" (non-compliance will result in you being asked to leave)...or so they advertised..... Although "Starlite" boldly advertised (& even emailed you reminders) that if you leave your vehicle for concessions, restroom trips, etc., you must remain physically distant & wear a face covering (or be asked to leave), our experience on October 25, 2020, proved that this was not the case. We visited the concession stand, but this was where we went wrong. As we were in line, a person was coughing with no face covering, (mouth WIDE OPEN towards us), unconcerned, & not even making an effort to shield their wide-mouthed coughing. Immediately leaving the line, & on the way back to our vehicle, we noticed several others walking around with no face coverings, & it became apparent that "Starlite's" advertised rule was obviously not being enforced. For personal reasons, we have been extremely diligent guarding our health during this pandemic (face coverings, extreme cleanliness, no travel, little-to-no outings, no indoor nor outdoor dining at restaurants, limited take-out, etc.). Aside from essential work, essential trips outside the home, & limited take-out & shopping, this drive-in movie event was only our second "outing" since March 2020. Had we known that the advertised rules imposed by "Starlite" would not be enforced, we would not have attended this event. It was disappointing & concerning, to say the least. Although it was a cool concept (in theory), & a clean, pretty well-organized & peaceful family-friendly event, I would not attend this event again. Regardless of one's viewpoints/opinions regarding face-coverings & social-distancing, it would be helpful if "Starlite" would be more forthcoming & transparent about the fact that their advertised rules are not enforced. That way, all attendees can make more informed decisions regarding whether or not to attend the event depending on an individual's own personal comfort levels. For those who are less risk averse, here is a bit more information regarding their events should you choose to attend: * Tickets available on-line in-advance * Concession stand available on-site with candy, popcorn, drinks * Restrooms (aka, "port-a-potty") available on-site * Movies vary by date & location Event: 4-stars Transparency/consistency regarding advertised "Guidelines": 1-star Average Overall: 2 1/2-stars

I haven't been here in years. So I decided to go with gf in tow, on a Saturday night, for 8:10pm…read moreshowing I did remember to come early to get a good spot to park. 39 minutes early is the latest to come. Otherwise you will be waiting in a huge line and may be fighting for a good spot, so you can be far away from the we*d smokers or smokers of any kind, if you are a nonsmoker like we are . Prices are still cheap. Only $14 for general admission (12 and older). Way better than walk in theater general admission prices. Pretty sure ticket prices are cash. So make sure you have cash for tickets. We came to see Mortal Kombat II. Which was amazing. I never saw the first movie. But you don't have to have seen the first to follow this movie. One reason I wanted to see this movie is Mortal Kombat II is my favorite video game (SNES) version of the MK video games. The best place to see an action movie is on the massive drive-in theater movie screen. Not Imax, etc. So we went here. Another great thing about drive in theaters is you can bring your own food and you can have privacy with your date inside your vehicle, if you know what I mean . Just have privacy glass. Because a family of kids can be parked next to your vehicle. If you want, you can bring chairs and sit outside your vehicle and watch. Which is also a great choice. Especially if you have kids. They will love sitting outside. If you do sit outside, bring a coat, blanket, etc. It gets cold at night. The concession is cheap af and not like walk in movie theater prices. For example, their large popcorn is huge. Yet its only $10 with taxes. We got ours with extra butter. They offer a lot of other good stuff too at great prices. But we only wanted warm popcorn with extra butter. I saw some raggedy ATM machines in there. Not sure if concession got them there so you can use cash to buy food. But I didn't ask as I already had some cash on me to buy popcorn. So make sure you bring cash for concession as well. Make sure you vehicle radio can tune to 90.1 FM and you can leave it on without it draining your battery and without parking/headlights being activated. It drives us movie goers crazy when some foolish person will turn on their headlights while everyone else is trying to enjoy the film. Also, if you need a radio for showing, you can buy one from them for $20 at concession. Great experience here. I love this place. Like I said, I havent been here in like 6 years. Last time I was here, one ticket paid for double feature. Which was a steal. Because after Mortal Kombat II, I was looking forward to seeing Michael again. Which we already saw at a walk in theater. But we were ready to see it again on the biggest screen ever. They dont do double features anymore. So if the website shows two movies, dont misread like I did. It clearly says: "TICKETS ARE FOR A SINGLE SHOW TIME ONLY." I was wondering why everyone was leaving after Mortal Kombat II was over . We stayed in vehicle until security drove by and told us they only do single features. We weren't the only ones he had to tell. Great experience here. Cant wait to see another larger than life movie here.

Somehow there was always one ingredient missing... the truck, the timing, or the friends willing to do it.Last night it finally happened.I convinced two of my guy friends to go with me -- one visiting from Missouri and one from Temecula -- and we were all ridiculously excited. We honestly didn't think we were going to make it because our movie didn't start until 11 PM, but we pushed through. We had a bonfire first, and right as it turned 11 and we were getting ready to leave, I tripped, fell, and sprained my ankle. Worst timing ever. But if there's one thing about me, I do not like bailing on plans. I said nope, we're still going. We were just going to be sitting anyway, all cuddled up in the back of the truck with blankets and pillows, so I powered through. I tried really hard to get comfortable, and even with the ankle situation, it was still such a fun experience. This one is definitely going down in the memory books. There's just something so nostalgic and special about a drive-in movie. It feels like one of those classic '80s activities that hardly exists anymore, which honestly makes me sad. I'm so glad we finally did it, and I would absolutely do it again. If you've been thinking about doing a drive-in movie night, take this as your sign. Do it.

When I checked the movie schedule online last night, I saw an 11:30 AM showtime, so we left early in the morning to make it on time. However, when we got there, we were told that the 11:30 AM showing did not have Korean subtitles. We had driven all the way there specifically so my mom could watch the movie with Korean subtitles, so we had no choice but to buy four tickets for the 1:15 PM showing, which did have Korean subtitles. While we were waiting, we bought nachos there, charged our cell phones, and relaxed for a while and had lunch in that mall. Being able to charge our phones was a huge plus. Also, one of the female employees, who was quite tall, was very kind and told us that there was a seating area toward the back of the theater. Thanks to her, we were able to sit there for a while, charge our phones, and eat our nachos. However, there were two women's restrooms inside the theater. One of them had no hand soap at all. I went and told the female employee, and she asked me, "There's no hand soap at all?" I said there was none at all. She then told me there was another women's restroom on the other side, so I went there, and that restroom did have soap. Before the movie started, I went back to the first restroom because it was closer to the theater, but even after more than two hours, there was still no hand soap at all. I was very disappointed, so I had to go to the restroom that was much farther away from the theater. Overall, this theater has a lot of good points. The staff is friendly, the seats are pretty comfortable, the theater is clean and pleasant, you can charge your cell phone, and parking is free. Also, for older people like my mom who want to enjoy the latest Hollywood movies with Korean subtitles, that is definitely the biggest advantage. However, I do have two suggestions: I hope they maintain the restrooms better. If there is no soap at all in the restroom, it does not seem right that no one refills it for more than two hours. I wish they would provide Korean subtitles for all showtimes. If that is not possible, I hope they clearly indicate on their website which showtimes have Korean subtitles and which ones do not. We came from far away, so it was very disappointing to find out that the 11:30 AM showing did not have Korean subtitles. Because of that, we ended up wasting two hours even though we had driven all the way there specifically for the Korean subtitles.

I heard about the Tribeca Drive-In At The Rose Bowl last year during the first COVID-19 summer and was interested to go since I loved and attended many of the other non-drive-in outdoor cinema events. However, I felt it was still too early to be out in the wild while COVID was still raging on. Fast-forward to 2021, and Tribeca decided to return for a second season with COVID conditions slightly better than 2020 (the Delta variant continued to spread as of this review), so I gathered a few friends and excitedly checked this out for several nights to watch "Wayne's World" https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=E-DeGOiEzuvWmRAiDYrDvA&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw and "Purple Rain" https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=bfHeeYNqgJM86JCXf7C50g&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw. Was this worth the wait to get us all out of our homes!? PURCHASE General Admission Per Vehicle ($30.00 x3 + $5.00 fee x3): Purchased online (I believed the price was the same at the door the day of the event but possibly higher a fee), this was open parking so first come-first served although it seemed there might've been VIP tickets that placed you closer to the screen. You were allowed to be outside your vehicle but must maintain very close proximity. And upon check-in, you were handed information for which radio channel to tune in to https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=XFUe-mQef7rVwtwlWBgFfA&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw and how to order food through the DoorDash app https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=teK8iIeffho06nAUx5iFgw&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw. Chicken Kabobs ($17.00): This was one massive skewer of thick pieces of nicely marinated juicy tender chicken along with an assortment of sliced green bell peppers, cucumbers, and onions served with a side of spicy dipping sauce. I surprisingly bought this pricey food item which thankfully didn't disappoint except for a lighter wallet. This definitely filled me up for the rest of the evening but probably wouldn't order it again https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=XSb87k8V1Jm2M9QFQ8nVDQ&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw. Seasoned Curly Fries w/Jalapeño Cheese Sauce ($8.00): A massive amount of curled spuds I swore the basket it came in was either bottomless or somehow never-ending! The cheese sauce had a nice spicy hotness to it but ran out of it halfway through my potato plantation which was fine since the fries tasted fine without it. With a nice crispiness in each bite until you reached the bottom where they were softer due to the moisture, not a bad meal at all; but this was a lot of fries to deal with for one person https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=jGpOSdzS3xcrVAHv1AhH1A&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw. SERVICE The online purchase was a breeze. Onsite directional signage to the main entrance was minimal at best (located at Lot F) https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=-eJcQuflOlHPYLrAfvkyGw&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw. But once you arrived, the ticketing and parking staff, respectively, were friendly and helpful. The same could be said about the concession employees (there was a bar tent I didn't try), and directions to the restrooms were sufficient https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=6I83ppaDR1LdOP1daVViTw&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw. Both audio and visual systems were very clean and clear. I didn't recall any onsite ATM machines. Generally-speaking, everything was fine and ran smoothly but just needed more signage once you got off the freeway since there were so many lots on the expansive Rose Bowl grounds. PARKING (FREE) Plenty of parking on the makeshift drive-in Lot F - 'nuff said https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=HLvvHky_uciuzRD_iTTMvQ&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A large open-air asphalt parking lot https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=Yh7TpFIOR6W5uI-U4hYAuw&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw with a state-of-the-art movie screen. Exposed to the elements, you heard random sounds from conversations, dogs barking, and vehicle traffic, etc.. The aforementioned gigantic movie screen was your TV while your vehicle's radio provided the music and audio. ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL Tribeca Drive-In At The Rose Bowl was a nostalgic fun time and would consider it again. The concept was perfect for the new norm of social distancing. The films shown were a wide range from old, new, classic, art-house, and more. The onsite staff were very charming and helpful, while the food menu was somewhat limited. Thankfully, you were allowed to bring your own food. I found very food value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $130.00; no tip required). And, they accepted my credit card of choice...AMEX! 4.0 STARS

Plus you can text and order the snacks on your phone too for delivery to your vehicle. You can also bring whatever food you want - there are plenty of trash cans too. Screen resolution is great - even on a Smokey Fire day at 4:30pm the LED jumbo screen is clear - only a few night dark scenes fade out a little during the daytime but not a big thing. Everything else looks fantastic on the large screen even during the daytime. Sound is through two stations on your car stereo or you can also stream through your phone if needed from their website. They even do movie previews for about 15mins. All the covid precautions are put in place and well managed. Vehicles are even staggered and given plenty of space to get out of your vehicle to stretch if needed. A few even parked backwards to sit in the back of their open suv areas. Security staff riding around on bicycles and also to answer any questions. You can't beat this activity for $35 with two or more people while the theaters are still closed. Plenty of restrooms as well that they are constantly cleaning. Way to go rose bowl for being one of the first to do this!

Friday the 13th found us sitting on graves while watching Rocky Horror on a large inflated screen while the Long Beach Art Theatre cast performed along with movie. Yes, there was literally dancing on graves going on here. The gravestones were interesting to read while we waited for the performance to start. Most of them were from a hundred years ago! The doors opened at 6:30 and the performance and movie started at 9, giving the audience time to enjoy a picnic or visit the food trucks parked in the graveyard. (Now that's a phrase I never thought I would write.) Four food trucks were there next to the port-a-potties. I didn't see anything saying that you could or couldn't bring alcohol, but a lot of people had alcohol out in the open, so I guess it's okay. Our neighbors even popped a bottle of champagne. Some tips for movie night: Come early if you want good parking. Late comers have to park across the street. Drive a small car if you can. The graveyard driveway is pretty narrow. It got pretty chilly in the later hours, so I suggest bringing jackets/blankets. Bring a low back chair,as taller chairs need to go to the back or side.
