We had a large group last fall and had a blast. Made mid-day changes and switched wineries. They were awesome and super flexible.

Cedric (the owner) is the literally the best! When I reached out about his company, he called me…read moreand we had a fantastic chat. He was very attentive and wanted to get a vibe for what the group (6 women) wanted and enjoys in life - all so HE could plan 2 amazing days at wineries in the greater Portland area. After the chat, we netted out on two full days (8 hrs each day. We survived by the way.) in June. He picked us up right at our Airbnb (Pearl) in a comfortable van with lots of room and already had the jams playing (his 90s/00s playlist is ON POINT). For the first day, we went out to the Mt. Hood area which was beyond beautiful (don't think I've ever seen a winery with a majestic mountain as a back drop). I highly recommend this route as it has more of a mom & pop feeling than other major wine areas I've visited (especially if you can do multiple days in this region). You also get a wider range of varietals vs. Willamette (not knocking W.V. AT ALL as I'm a Pinot Noir gal). Cedric completely planned the entire day and we hit up 4 different wineries and none disappointed. He also grabbed us lunch which was fantastic. The drive is beautiful along the Colombia River. Dropped off at our place in the Pearl. Day 2 (the following day) we hit up the famous Willamette Valley. We had a couple last minute requests (in terms of must-have wineries) that Cedric completely accommodated and he re-routed our day to ensure we hit the best of the best. He worked his magic and we were able to visit FIVE (!), including the last stop where we chatted with the owner/winemaker while playing bocce ball (Utopia wines). It was a fantastic day. We visited some big players like Domaine Serene (YES) and Stoller (great for a picnic lunch), but also some smaller but beautiful wineries like Colene Clemens (top of hill overlooking valley) and Vista Hills (think tree house vibes). Cedric promised a magical day and he delivered. This was by far my favorite wine tour experience and I've done a lot of them across the country/world. Cedric was the difference maker. He's a fantastic and hilarious host and truly makes the experience one to remember. His company has other drivers as well and I imagine they are of the same breed as Mr. Cedric, so no matter who you get, you won't be disappointed!!

I can't taste too many wines at once and don't want to feel intoxicated. Often I end up going to a winery or two and feeling disappointed. I want to learn, but find it hard to do by myself. Going wine tasting with Terry was completely different. He asked questions about interests. Asked about the types of wines we enjoyed. What type of experience we wanted to have. He considered food, scenery, our knowledge, our budget, and desires. Almost all the wines we tasted were fabulous. Certainly, there were some I loved more than others, but the quality was consistent and I discovered new favorites.

We had to pull over and our driver secured the doors back shut... then this happened 3 more times. It was really scary and someone could have gotten seriously injured!! I'm frustrated that I have not been able to get in contact with a manager to address this issue and want to prevent this from happening again. Our bus driver said the issue with the doors was known, and parts were on-order which means this could have been prevented and I do not appreciate the decision to allow us to ride on the bus. This was such a negative experience since our driver was also 30 minutes late to pick up (she went to the wrong address) and stopping 3 times on the freeway caused us to have to cancel our stop, and turn around to get to the event we were planning on attending. I've been trying to get in touch VIP PDX for 2 weeks, and my calls and emails have not been returned... Do yourself a favor and do NOT book with this company.

Roger takes the time to call you in advance of the tour, talk about what you might like in terms of wine style, types of grapes, feel of the tasting rooms and your desired pace of the day. We found that planning for there wineries in a day is really the perfect leisurely pace to set - four leaves you tired, and five will put you down for the count! What makes Tesla Custom tours exceptional is Roger's live of wine, and extensive experience in the area. He knows the vintners personally, understands the pros and cons of each one well, and is a "club member" of several the vineyards he likes himself. It's a treat to have a tour guide who really enjoys the craft aspect of winemaking and is able to share his local knowledge and experience as part of the day's adventures. Rodgers also prepares an over the top lunch for guests that is served at one of the wineries along the way, pairing the food with the wine in a delightful ambience that creates great memories. A huge thank you to Roger for always taking great care of us and our friends!

Highly recommended.

I contacted Dan about 5 days before I arrived and he was pretty flexible with the date/time, and he picked us right up at the hotel since we didnt have car. He was punctual and greeted us with an upbeat attitude. Since we were doing a Gorge tour while also visiting the Hollywood sites, we first discussed what we wanted to do on our 9 hour. Dan gave us great advice about what to see and do, but allowed us to give input since it was our tour. (Must mention that it was just us two + Dan on our tour) Dan brought us to the Pittocks Mansion,a sight from a couple different movies/series. Next was Cullens House from twilight. Since it was not public property, we quickly took a look, a quick snap shot and moved on. Although we did help with some of the navigation, it was funny and with good attitudes took it in stride. Plus growing up in the internet/cell phone generation, it wasnt any trouble for us to help! We moved onto to the waterfalls and some of the scenery on I-84 since that was what we were more interested in. Dan was super flexible, providing historical facts and stories about Portland, the gorge, and why he is so passionate about the area.( as well as many stories of his acting experiences-so funny!) It was nice hearing it from someone who has lived there as long as Dan has because he was able to provide a lot of information, and you can tell he loves the area. My friend and I also wanted to visit a winery, so Dan happily did the research as we hiked Multnomah Falls, so when we got back to the car we had many options no what to choose! It was fabulous! The winery was wonderful, and although we were running close to our 9 hours at this point, Dan remained happy, flexible and didnt stress about the time. Also throughout the entire day, Dan was taking photos of us, putting his photography skills to work! not every picture was perfect, but it was a lot of fun looking at them afterwards, plus you can download any and all of them for free! great if ur camera is malfunctioning :) Overall, I thought this was a lot of fun. If you have a good sense of humor(dan definitely has a fun, goofy attitude, loves joking around), and can go with the flow this is definitely something worth checking out. My friend and I had a lot of laughs, and some really nice, and some pretty hilarious pictures to remember it by!
