Precision Tune Auto Care

Precision Tune Auto Care

I drive 30+ miles to get my car serviced at this spot and there is a damn good reason for it…read more I've been introduced to this Precision Tune Auto Shop through an acquaintance of mine because I heard they are very honest mechanics. I have visited this shop twice to confirm my "car problems" that were reported on two separate occasions by Midas and Jiffy Lube, both of which gave me an estimated quote in excess of $1000. Both of these times, I came out of Precision Tune Auto Care with a $20ish charge for an oil change. Enough said. I'm really sick and tired of the scamming by car mechanics and to know that I'm at peace of mind when I go to this shop makes it well worth the trip to go out to Clinton to get my car serviced. As for customer service, recently, the owner's son, CJ, offered me food from the lunch he ordered for his employees (Pizza Hut) when I went in to get new brakes. Wow. What car center does THAT??!?!!! If I were to say anything negative.....it's that CJ may give "preferential" treatment to some customers. On my recent visit, a mother of a girl who came out on America's Next Top Model came to get her car serviced. Once CJ saw the model's pic in the mom's phone, he was in full gear: he chat her up like no other, opened the store door for her as she exited, opened her car door, and made 3 customers wait in line for 10 minutes while he chatted with her outside at her car. The daughter was smoking hot. YEP. Beauty goes a long way. YEP. Can't fault him for trying to score points with mum. YEP. Bah. Since he's a nice guy I'll be a bit understanding and let him get away with that one.

Had great service at Precison Auto Tune with Paul & CJ. Was referred by a friend to this shop and…read moresaw it had great Yelp reviews so decided to give it a shot. Had just got a new (used) car and wanted someone to check it out. To my dismay, I was told here I needed new breaks and rotors. CJ strongly encouraged I return to the dealership and demand they provide them. I really appreciated that. He said he could repair it, but that having just purchased the car this was not something he felt that I should pay his shop to do. Well, they refused so I paid out of pocket here and Yelped about the experience at the dealership. Long story short, they contacted me and offered to refund half. I quickly called CJ and asked what he thought about that. He advised me that I should demand a FULL REIMBURSEMENT from the dealership based on his observations of my vehicle. So that's what I did. And that's what I got :) Appreciated his honesty and the work done. Paul's assistance as well. Was like I got a mechanic and a lawyer rolled into one. Definitely sticking with this shop! ps. Seemed like CJ knew everyone entering the shop by name so definitely a ton of return customers here. A loyal clientele base is always a good sign.

Have been working with Aldo at Carmasters for a few years now. Got the initial recommendation from…read morea friend. Aldo is responsive, friendly, and always provides great service at reasonable prices. I initially had the transmission replaced on my 2015 ford focus in 2022, ordered the part to the shop and had my car towed there. Was back on the road in less than a week. Since then I've reached out several times for various mechanical inquiries (if you've driven or owned a focus you know my pain) and Aldo has always replied quickly, gotten me on the schedule and back driving with no check engine light ASAP. Highly recommend working with Car Masters.

This place is not empty 90% of the time for no reason, they are running a scam at this location to…read moremake up for their lack of daily income. Went in for a MD state inspection for a car that has 0 issues. I was called an hour later that i failed the inspection because "my back glass was too dark" then offered to remove the back windshield tint for a fee which i found laughable because: 1: He could have told me from the start that my back windshield was too dark before taking my money 2: I never heard anyone complain about back windshield being too dark 3: Offered to remove it for me for $100 The guy was extremely rude and when i took my complaint to the owner, he basically sent me away. So i took the same car out of anger to another place for the same inspection and passed it with no issue.

Meineke Car Care Center - Front bumper scratch......no scratches on my damn car before taking it to Meineke.

I was in a bit of a bind and needed my A/C fixed quickly. I'll be spending a lot of time in my…read morevehicle tomorrow, and with the temperatures we've been having, driving without properly functioning A/C wasn't an option. I spent part of the afternoon driving around looking for a shop that could help me the same day. I stopped at and called several places in the area, including some highly recommended repair shops. Most were either too busy to see me that day or couldn't guarantee same-day service. While driving around, I ended up near a repair shop my mom used to use. I called them, but they told me they were too busy to get to my vehicle that day. Right next door was Meineke, so I decided to stop in and see if they could help. I'm glad I did. I arrived around 2:15 PM with no appointment. Eli at the service desk was friendly, professional, and upfront about the process. There were a few vehicles ahead of me, and he estimated it would be about an hour before they could get my truck into the shop. He gave me the option to wait or leave the vehicle, and since I was hoping to get it fixed that day, I chose to stay. A short time later, technician Kirk came out to introduce himself and discuss the issue. My truck had cold air blowing in the rear but hot air coming from the front vents. Kirk explained his initial thoughts and recommended an A/C service that included evacuating and recharging the system, adding UV dye, and performing a leak test. He estimated it would take about an hour once they got started. What impressed me most was that they delivered exactly what they promised. About an hour after I arrived, my truck was in the bay. About an hour later, the work was completed. By approximately 4:20 PM, I was back on the road. And best of all--they fixed it. Before coming in, driving the truck was miserable. The rear A/C was the only thing producing cold air, so I was constantly trying to angle the rear vents forward while the front vents blasted hot air. Now the A/C is blowing ice cold from both the front and rear. What really stood out was the value. Some shops were quoting more than I ultimately paid, and a couple of places wanted about the same amount just to diagnose the issue. Instead, Meineke diagnosed the problem, serviced the system, and got me back on the road the same afternoon for $290. Big shoutout to Eli and Kirk for the excellent customer service and for taking care of my vehicle. Honest communication, reasonable pricing, and same-day service when I needed it most. They turned a stressful situation into a smooth experience, and I'm glad I chose Meineke. I'll definitely be back for future service.

Eli, an employee at the Clinton location, attempted to charge me additional money for an air…read moreconditioning repair on my 2015 Chevrolet Malibu LTZ in a manner that I found concerning and potentially deceptive. On May 23, I brought my vehicle in because the air conditioning had suddenly stopped working. Initially, I believed the issue might simply require a refrigerant recharge. However, after inspecting the vehicle, I was informed that the compressor needed to be replaced. The technicians performed a diagnostic test on the air conditioning system, which involved the use of a dye to identify the issue. I was charged $297 for this diagnostic service. At the time, I was advised that the diagnostic fee would be applied toward the final repair cost if I proceeded with the compressor replacement. Eli subsequently provided an estimate of approximately $2,200 to replace the compressor. Given that my vehicle is 11 years old, I found this estimate to be unusually high. Additionally, when I paid the diagnostic fee, Eli informed me that I would need to provide a $500 deposit before he could order the replacement part. This requirement seemed unusual to me and raised concerns. I told him that I would consider the estimate and contact him later in the week regarding whether I wished to proceed with the repair. On Wednesday, May 27, I called the store to make the $500 deposit for the compressor over the phone. Eli answered and told me he would call me back within an hour. Shortly thereafter, I received a text message from an unknown number that I understood to be Eli's personal phone number. In that message, he informed me that the required deposit had increased from $500 to $1,000. I advised him that this was not what we had discussed when I initially received the estimate and that I was not willing to pay a higher deposit. He then stated that he would honor the original $500 amount. Eli further advised me that the store's credit card machine was not working and asked whether I could send the deposit to him through Venmo. This request immediately raised concerns because I would have been sending money directly to an individual rather than making a payment through the business, and there appeared to be no way for me to receive an official receipt for the transaction. He then suggested that he could send me a barcode that I could take to a CVS or Walgreens location to make the deposit in cash. At that point, I expressed my concern that the situation seemed highly unusual and gave the appearance of a potential scam. I explained that the requests did not make sense to me and that I was uncomfortable with what appeared to be an attempt to obtain payment outside of the company's normal payment procedures. Eli acknowledged my concerns and stated that he understood where I was coming from. He then informed me that he would go ahead and order the part so that it would arrive by Saturday. This further raised concerns because it suggested that the deposit may not have been necessary in the first place. Based on the sequence of events, I believe there was an attempt to obtain additional funds from me outside of the company's standard payment process. Following that conversation, I informed Eli that I would call him back because the situation had made me very uncomfortable. I then contacted the Waldorf location to verify the information I had been given. During that conversation, I was advised that their stores do not require deposits for parts and do not ask customers to send payments through personal Venmo accounts, QR codes, or similar methods outside of the company's standard payment procedures. I was also provided with an estimate for the same repair that was approximately $500 less than the quote I received from the Clinton location. Based on these significant discrepancies, I chose to have my vehicle serviced at the Waldorf location instead. I understand that each shop is independently owned and has the discretion to set its own pricing. However, the rates being charged at this location appear to be excessively high. I contacted corporate to express my concerns and was advised that someone from the store would reach out to me. It has now been over a week, and I have not received any communication. This lack of follow-up speaks volumes about this particular location and its business practices. I would be cautious when relying on some of the positive reviews. In my experience, the shop offered discounts in exchange for favorable Yelp reviews, which makes me question the authenticity of the feedback posted here.
