Terrible service. Can't call the store directly, a call center just makes your appointment , while staff is not able fulfill the service.

My father went here last week for an oil change. Which was about 7-am upon arrival they let him know they'll be able to assist him. However they had my father waiting for over 4 hours in their establishment without any communication to let him know how long it will be. I went to get a set of four tires that I ordered put on and get a wheel alignment for my 2007 Lexus LS460. After about two hours the tires were put on, but I was told that the wheel alignment couldn't be done. I was told that my upper & lower control arms needed to be replaced. They quoted me $3900 dollars. Ironically, I had my upper and lower control arms replaced the week prior. I told them to take my car off the lift! This place is a rip off! I only gave a one star because I couldn't submit my review without doing so! read more

Told them my car was making a funny vibration sound and I think it was my wheel bearing. Instead they insisted I needed new tires... got the new tires & the vibration is of course still there. I call and tell them the problem is still there I hope I didn't But new tires for nothing! I make the appointment and drive 30 minutes there, but they say they don't work with the internet. I can make an appointment online, but when I get to the store, they say it doesn't work. My dad has been taking our family vehicles here for years. This summer he was sidelined by a stroke and now me and my mom have to take over vehicle maintenance. Neither of us know a thing about cars, and honestly even if I learned, there are some things best left to the pros, like the folks here at Mr. Tire Clinton. I have no doubt that the entire team at Mr. Tire Clinton is amazing. That said, Ayo and Ronny were especially helpful with our situation. I'm so humbled that they were so patient listening to all my mom's questions and being willing to help us out basically educating us on this and that while my dad is sidelined. I wish I could leave LESS than one star for this place! I went in and told them I thought that there was problem with my wheel bearing or my cv axle. They proceeded to tell me after driving my car that it was just my plastic undercarriage and they were going to zip tie to get my home all the way back in New Hampshire. I had told them I had two daughters to get home to and just wanted to be safe. I knew something sounded off because there was NO WAY that it was just plastic that made my car make the sound it did. He told me I was good to go and that I would be great to get home. Five minutes later I was on the phone with my dad and he then approached me and told me that my car started smoking when he started it. He said he wasn't sure where it came from and they needed to investigate where it was coming from. Okay weird because it was NOT doing that when I pulled in and everything was fine besides the sound which was my CV axle. He then came out and told me that it was my starter and they needed to replace it because it couldn't be taken off the lift because it wouldn't start due to the smoke. Okay well that's weird because I drove all the way down here from NH and it started even this morning, even when the man just drove it. I then left to go to my event I was attending and why I drove all the way down to Maryland. Nobody called me and I had to call them at 4 pm after them having it since 10 am. He told me that I was good to come and get my car but now my brakes were smoking! Okay cool so my starter was smoking and now my brakes too? I said I'm on my way. I drove in that shop looking for them to fix my CV axle and they instead replaced a starter, made it so my emergency brake light was on, my brakes can not be pushed and now they also told me I needed a new pump due to the smoke damage. I am enraged. A single mother who only provides for her kids. Now I have AT LEAST $1,200 worth of work that needs to be done. read more

One word... Shane! I'm not sure why the overall reviews are so low but I can guarantee that if everyone at this location does what Shane does, there is no reason they can't have 5 stars. Long story short, I took my parent's car to another shop that didn't fully complete the work. I could tell something wasn't right so I decided to bring it to Mr Tire to see if they could help. Not only did Shane find what they did wrong, he explained it to me thoroughly and took pictures of what they missed so I could take it back to the other location so they could fix their work. He also found something else they missed and he fixed that. I've never had anyone explain what was going on with a car and how they were going to fix it in a way that I actually understood. I took my Model-Y in to get my tire PATCHED 11/16, it had a slow leak. A bit of back story, my car was just at Tesla 11/10. I was told I needed two new front tires on the phone when the center called. They offered 2 Uniroyal tires for the front BUT my car has Continentals. I asked why would I have mismatched tires and can they just patch the tire. The REFUSED to patch a bald tire. I said I am OTW to pick up my car. I showed the technician my car was just at Tesla SIX days ago and the tires were checked. Why wouldn't Tesla sell me tires if I needed them. BTW, it went from 2 new tires to 4 tires from when I was on the phone. At that point I knew it was all GAME. The technician proceeds to tell me that they get cars from Tesla "all the time" because they don't know what they're doing. At this point I am past angry and just want to leave. Oh, FYI, Uniroyal DOES NOT HAVE TIRES FOR MY CAR! I searched for my specific model and their website says, "We have no result for your search". After making an appointment they asked to see my license, when asked why the attendant said it was policy. and that it was mandatory in order to service my vehicle , so not only do they have my credit card information from payment they have my address make and model of my car abd name . Went get a safety inspection for my old ass Nissan Pathfinder. Needless to say the Maryland State Safety Inspection is for new cars. If you have one that is older than 5 years go to dc or va!!!! I love Mr. Tire. Get the road hazard insurance with all your tires and you'll thank me later for that tip. The DMV is full of potholes and horrible drivers. That means you're just like me and changing your tires is like another monthly bill. Some people think the service is bad. I came in with no appointment on a Saturday ( big mistake)told me it was a two hour wait, ended up being only an hour. See they under promise and over deliver. I like that. read more

I've been here a lot over the years and today was the first day I was disgusted with the service. The gentleman at the desk was very flippant with me concerning my tires. Told me I wouldn't have such a hard time if I just did what he said. His tone was off. Blamed a customer because their car was left here overnight and their tires were stolen. I was happy with my service. Had to get 2 new tires, and had been dealing w/ Firestone. Firestone quoted me $400 for 2 damn tires??? Nah bro. So, I called around to different places and came upon Mr. Tire. I read reviews and felt comfortable with the price, tire combo they gave me. I knew to get in, you have to go early. What a Mis-managed business. I have spent over an hour and a half waiting to get the nail removed from the tire in my rental for $36 and was astonished at the slow work ethic displayed. Obviously since I am an out of town customer a return visit is without question. I only wish I had read the many other poor reviews prior to coming here and not during my slow wait. I now realize the amazing service that I get back home form my go to Tire service center. Word to the wise, even if it means travel further, find another source for your automotive needs. I came in on very short notice and was worried about not getting services done before they closed. The manager was so kind and took my vehicle in last minute. It made my entire day! Some shops would have simply said "come back tomorrow", especially if the mechanics worked long hours that day. I can understand that completely, given I work very long days. The technicians do good work, but the owner/manager should really consider hiring a consultant to improve how employees talk to customers. Failure to do so creates a blind spot that is likely to cost the business money due to customers going elsewhere for better customer service. My car battery died and I had it towed to Mr Tire. They quoted me a new battery but because of the late hour it had to stay overnight. After the tow I placed my tow bar (screw type) in my rear floorboard. The tow truck driver made sure he gave it directly to me because he said that some shops will keep them. After picking up my vehicle and placing everything back I noticed the tow bar was missing. I called the manager Shane and he denied that anyone took it because there was no reason for anyone to go in the back seat. I also have no reason to question Mr Tire if my tow bar was not missing. I emailed Customer Service with this complaint and have not received any response. If you have all day to wait for service and want to risk having items removed (stolen) from your vehicle good luck. The waiting room is eerily quiet and painfully boring - bring your own music :( OK, this establishment did enough to convince me that I will not go back again anytime soon. So, earlier this month I brought my Explorer here prior to setting out on a business trip in the Annapolis area - the trip coincided with the need to get the oil changed. I phoned a few places to try and get the least expensive option, and was quoted a reasonable $34 for a high-mileage oil change. Bargain, I thought. Now the two nearest locations to me were both booked solid, and the third location - out in Clinton, MD, said their wait time was 1.5 hours, but was assured it would not be that long of an actual wait, I drove over. I confirmed the price with yer man over the phone, he said no problem, so away I go. When I arrived, I suddenly didn't get the best vibe from the place. Not only was the waiting area eerily quiet, but I noticed the floors were very dirty. Dusty. Seemed like the place hadn't been swept in weeks. At the desk, a company bloke was talking to a female customer. Well, rather, she was doing the talking, he just kept agreeing "yes, oh yeah" making the odd facial gesture. I stood behind her patiently waiting my turn, but dude didn't even acknowledge me. After what seemed like ten minutes, she finally finished reiterating her story to him, and it was my turn. I identified myself as having phoned about 20 minutes prior about an oil change for an Explorer, but he seemed both oblivious and non-interested. I asked about the specific service, and with minimal acknowledgement, he flatly said the service would cost $49. I then explained that I had been quoted $34 with the two other Mr Tire locations and this location as well that same afternoon, but he just ignored my explanation and suddenly put his hands up in the air and randomly said that I didn't let him finish, and gave me a figure of $40. I looked at him with confusion and hesitancy, and he just as randomly as before started to huff and make a fuss about my demanding a discount when he was already giving me a better than competitive price with a built-in discount. Not wanting to get into a squabble and needing to get the oil change, I sighed and agreed. He took my car key, and wandered off into the shop. I then sat down in the eerily quiet waiting room. There was a miserable looking young woman across from me, and a very smelly other patron sat across from me as well. I just plugged my phone into the wall, and started reading the football news, listening to music. As I looked around, the dirty aspect of the floor again caught my attention. I actually got onto yelp intending to review the place, but decided to wait until after the service was done. On checking in, I got an "offer" for a $21.99 oil change. I thought - happy days, I will apply this now. After what seemed like an hour and half later, I got off my back side as the bloke got back from the shop and called me over. I went over, and he just looked at me with a "how will you be paying that" look. I showed him the phone and asked him as a first-time cust could I use my yelp! offer - he just gave me a give-a-shite look and told me he had already given me a "discount". I didn't think I was going to be successful, so I paid the bill, got my key, and got the hell outta Dodge. When I got home, I checked the fluids, and realized these were not topped off. Sigh. Bugger Mr Tire. I was not impressed, and highly doubt I'll bother going back no matter what "discount" they offer. And especially not if they rely on blokes like that as the first impression of their business. Not the least bit friendly, and with a face like a slapped arse. read more

I was looking to get a patch done on my tire but Sherman checked my tires and said I would be much safer and cost effective to replace it. He made some good points and didn't demonstrate any alternative agenda of trying to up-sell me. Crooks. I brought my SUV here for a simple nail in my tire. I needed it patched and to be on my way. After 2 hours I called to find out why it was taking so long... That's when I was informed I needed to purchase a completely new tire! This would have costed me $240+. All for a nail?! I told them to put my tire back on and I would go elsewhere because I knew it was a simple fix. This is when they were forced to admit that they had damaged my tire while trying to plug it, and it was not able to get me to the next destination. Now all of a sudden they offered to replace my tire for free. If I had to not asked the right questions, they would have ripped me off for the cost of a new tire and installation without telling me it was all because of a mistake THEY MADE. If I could give zero stars I would. Terrible service. I came in for an inspection on my newly purchased vehicle and the car had all of these so called "problems". The inspector observed i was a younger guy and assumed that I had no knowledge of the lies he was telling me plain as day. I was told i needed new tires, headlights and a Windshield wiper. I took the vehicle to another mechanic shop and passed inspection with flying colors. Do not do business here! I called this Mr. Tire to schedule an appointment for my wife to bring her car in for tires. I had picked the tires online but it would not allow me to schedule online. When I talked with the manager to schedule an appointment and told him which tires to put on (using the price and name of the tires...even giving him the product number), he advised me that there was a better set of tires on sale at the exact price of the tires I wanted. Naturally I said "ok". After scheduling the appointment I asked him how long my wife should plan on waiting. He answered me with: "It should be an hour to an hour and a half with alignment, balancing, etc..." (Paraphrase). Now I'm reading online and hearing the internet that all tire prices quoted are "out the door" prices with no hidden shop fees or other fees not mentioned. However, when my wife leaves she calls and tells me the total was $873. I told her there's no way because I was quoted $596 plus tax. She tells me that all she added to it was $24 for road hazard insurance because she figured what's $24 on an $800 dollar bill, and it seemed worth it for the tires. She told me she even verified that it was $24 for the insurance. When I called the shop to see why I was being charged so much for what should have been $620 plus tax, I was not greeted well. Upon speaking with the guy who helped my wife, he insisted that my wife told him that she wanted the alignment done on the car and that it cost $99, but only $75.99 with a special discount. He then told me that she chose the road hazard insurance for $24 a tire ($96). I told him, no she said it was $24 total...he basically called my wife a liar. After getting home and telling my wife what had happened, she called them herself and asked for the manger (which is how I found out that I spoke with the manager that morning). When she told him that she never asked for an alignment and clarified that all she did when she got there is hand him the keys and correct the guy after he said she was in for an oil change. She told him "no, I'm here for tires, my husband spoke with you guys earlier and worked it all out..." That was all. When realizing who she was, the manager insisted to her that I told him that I wanted the alignment - changing the story from my wife telling them she wanted it done. I was standing there when she was talking to him and I responded that I had not said anything about wanting the alignment done (and had never been given a quote for an alignment). The manager said that when he told me how long it would take, he included the time for an alignment...as if by him mentioning an alignment I'm suddenly consenting to the nearly $100 service without my knowledge? What? Eventually, he told my wife he would refund the hazard insurance and let us still have the service to make up for the price of the alignment. In the long run, he was rude to my wife, they implied that both my wife and I are lying, and then we still paid more than we thought we were going to pay. He charged me $159 for tires that he quoted me at $149/tire, and then insisted to my wife he quoted $159/tire. Please remember, I read him the product number of the original tires I wanted at $149/tire and he then came to me and said I have a better tire at the same price. I won't return, deal or no deal, this manager told my wife he says the same thing to all his customers (regarding the alignment), and if he's giving you a service you don't verbally request and then charging you for it, he's being dishonest. Everything about this entire process was dishonest...down to the "no hidden fees" advertisement on the radio and online, they charged $10 for shop fees as well. Granted it's only $10 and I would have had no problem with that, in the end it just compounds the rest of the lies. read more

At first, I trusted Mr. Tire to take care of a few of my automobile needs, such as tires and brakes. However, my past experience is sure to be my last. I dropped my car off on a Sunday via tow because it wouldn't start. Mr. Tire had my car for 2 FULL days before even bothering to contact me. I called the office every day to check the status of a diagnostic. On the 3rd day, someone from their office contacted me stating that they still could not find the problem with my vehicle. Another day passes and I still hear nothing about the progress of my vehicle. This goes on for 6 days before someone calls me on Saturday to tell me my ignition cylinder is broken. Now, when I took my car into the shop, I was able to turn my keys in the ignition just fine. However, when I popped up to see how everything was going on DAY 9, the mechanic tells me that he still couldn't figure out what was wrong with it. DAY 9!!!! At the end of day 9, Mr. Tire contacted me to let me know they were going to tow my car to the dealership. Day 10, no phone call. Day 11. My car is not at the dealership. It's at another Mr. Tire. -_- No one even told me. Day 12. The mechanic made up some excuse as to why they towed it there instead of another dealership...blah, blah, blah. At this time, I'm LIVID because they didn't do what they said they would. Then the manager tells me, I have to pay my balance before they tow it to the dealership. Day 13. My car is STILL not starting, but I had to sit at the dealership until my car was fixed. The dealer tells me my key won't even turn in the ignition. I had to pay almost $1,200 ON TOP of what I paid Mr. Tire (around $575) just to get my car out of the dealership shop. It gets better... The tow truck driver contracted by Mr. Tire ruined my front splash guard... had to go BACK to the dealer. (2nd visit) Mr. Tire didn't connect my battery cables properly, so my car intermittently didn't start...back to the dealer. (3rd visit) Let's just say, if you want to have your car within 1-2 days, DON'T GO TO MR. TIRE IN CLINTON. I had to submit a claim to their corporate office for breaking parts, and THANK GOD they are paying me back for the dealer charges... read more

My first and last time patronizing this establishment. Waited six hours to have break work done and during that time I kept overhearing the mechanics fusing and arguing about work orders and mismanagement among other things. At the end, I was overcharged with some discounts and found bogus charges like a tire recycling fee and a Maryland Tire tax even though I never had any tires changed or replaced. I only stayed to have the work done because the Maryland State Safety Inspection is located there as well and needed all of this done ASAP but I've learned my lesson about this place. The Staff took the time to get on the phones to locate another nearby Mr. Tire (with an inspector on site) to help me out. After the inspection, I went back to this shop (since I did need some rear tires) and they gave me an excellent price on the tires and service. read more

I made an appointment online for 7:00 p.m. to have my car inspected. A couple of hours later, I received an email confirming the appointment. The email clearly stated the time and the purpose of the appointment. I left work early so that I could get through traffic and be on-time for the appointment.
