The temperature gauge wasn't working and yeah, when I took it to the Chevrolet dealer. They said both the calipers and rear breaks for seized up on it. And I called dry tyrant, and they went, oh, well, good thing you bought the extended warranty. I mean, I don't kn who sells you and California is illegal. All of these reviews are ancient and some of them just do no justice for this place and it's employees. Let me start off by saying my credit has deteriorated DRASTICALLY. Someone ran into my car and totaled it leaving me STRESSED when it came to getting another one. So it was nice being financed when it seemed so far out of reach. I will say though, what really made my experience so great were the people that were taking care of me! The great double B duo, AKA Breez and Bob! These two were absolutely incredible human beings; they were so kind, authentic and down right hilarious. I couldn't have asked for a better pair to help me through this rough patch of mine! I recently wrote a great review about my experience here but, the day after I purchased the vehicle the check engine light came on. I dropped the car off at an automotive place for two days only to find out that they didn't even replace or fix the issue. I then dropped it off to another place covered by the warranty department and had to leave the vehicle for 5 days! I spent all of my funds on the getting the car and could not afford a rental. I then reached out to Janica to tell her all of the troubles and issues I was having and she didn't even reply. I have had to ask friends for rides to and from work and feel like I'm in a worse position then before I purchased this lemon of a used car. My car is still in the shop. When I got it back from the last automotive place that I took it to, it ran for a few days then shut off. The check engine light is back on so it has now been at the shop for two days and they have yet to diagnose the problem. Since I purchased this car on 11/3, it has been in the shop for a total of 9 days! Thankfully there is a warranty but, it takes a lot longer to get things fixed and replaced because of the length of time to verify and get approvals for parts. I will never buy from drive time again. Looks can be deceiving!!! So my car drama started February 2016 where I decided I was going to buy one of my all-time favorite cars. A used Cadillac CTS4 in a navy (Yankee) blue. It was perfect..... until we got it home.....from day one we have had issues....every error code on the dashboard comes on- when there's bad weather -when it rains... it rains "inside the car".... so much so that it pours water. the car smells like mildew and there's black mold growing ...yes you heard me right ....BLACK MOLD...... this car won't pass any inspection- Drivetime in Raleigh is where we purchased it from. When we first started having problems with the car the salesman Bob told us to take it to their mechanic and they would fix it at no charge. He even looked up the repair place gave us the address and told us to take it there....so we did.... guess what.... after the repair we get a big ole bill- the repair shop said they don't fix any drivetime warranties. Over a grand we had to pay. After that we went back to Drivetime in Raleigh to explain the situation and the sales man Bob begged us not to tell his boss because he screwed up and said he would get us onto an extended warranty no charge. Well that came and went every light on the dashboard has been lit up for year and a half... it rains inside my car we can't get the car inspected -we've had to fix it just keeps on happening this car is a total lemon. As a last resort we went yesterday to Drivetime in Raleigh asking them ...after having purchased 5 cars from them in the past if they could do what a good company would do and take care of us and get this problem dealt with... The manager told us that they would give us the highest value for the car plus they would eat $2500 and we would have to come out of pocket $2000 to get out of this car -which everyone agreed on last night and then we got a phone call this morning and everything changed and we had to come up with $4500. The manager at drivetime told us the best thing to do was call the 800 number. We were told to call them because his hands were tied. We were advised that the general manager's "boss" would not take our phone call. So we called the 800 number- first Drivetime employee was nothing but extremely rude and nasty- we asked to speak to her manager and she said NO and told us to talk to the finance company and abruptly switched us over. We don't need them we need Drivetime. Call the 800 number again- got someone else - she was a little nicer and "seemed" to be concerned.... but not able to help us- understand this- not only is it extremely unhealthy for someone to breathe in black mold- I am also recovering from brain surgery 9 months ago- I'm still recovering. I went on the site which gave me a down payment of $1095 on "select cars" which I felt was misleading. Although not a lie, misleading of false hopes. So I went and has an appointment at their capital blvd location. After not having even one person speak to me for 15 minutes I finally was asked if I needed help. I told them I had an appointment and the four or five cars I was interested in ranging from a Malibu to an impala to a traverse to a Nissan Rogue. She then proceeded to tell me that the down payment would start around $3500 and even $10000 down on the Rogue. She made sure to say well the $1095 is correct cause the economy cars start around that. But it's only 7 months after I had the car and my transmission failed and the expensive warranty you pay for is TRASH because they only want to do the cheapest route!!!!! They are putting a used transmission in my car and when my warranty goes out I'm most like going to need a new one because the CVT transmissions are TRASH as it is. They don't do a full inspection on the car because I've been having problems since I got it, it's only gotten worse. Bridge crest is shady as hell too, you always hear something different from each person you talk to. Avoid the trouble!!! Got a good APR, payments a little higher than I care for but doable! Their customer service was phenomenal HOWEVER not even 24 hrs after getting my 2011 Kia Sorento, the check engine light came on!! I was upset as you can imagine but the 30 day bumper to bumper warranty is a life saver, the ins company they use didn't hesitate to pay the mechanic so that is a definite plus! Now I'm worried because I have FOUR 02 sensors and one of them are bad which caused the engine light to come on! So if they don't need changed in the next 25 days I have to pay the mechanic $300 per 02 sensor and that can be costly as you know. BEWARE ~ BEWARE ~ BEWARE Bought a 2009 Chevy Silverado on Dec 22nd, 2017. On my way home the trucks dashboard lights came on and the vehicle lost all engine power. Drove it home going 25 mph. On Dec 24th I had a friend follow me and took the truck back to DriveTime in Raleigh. I was told that it was just the fuel injector and they would replace that. Drove it home and the trucks dashboard lights came on and the vehicle lost all engine power again. On Dec 27th I took the truck back to DriveTime in Raleigh. Their mechanic took a look and replaced a fuse, did an alignment and said everything was working good. I mentioned that I wasn't to trade the truck in since I was still under their 5 day warranty. I told them that I was driving to FL the very next day, but they assured me everything was fine. There was no need to trade in the vehicle. Got to FL, two days later my girlfriend who has cancer and I drove back to NC. We didn't even get out of FL when the trucks dashboard lights came on and the vehicle lost all engine power again. We spent two nights in Ocala while the DriveTime there tried to fix the problem. DriveTime and/or Bridestone would not let me trade the truck in for something else. I hadn't made one payment on this vehicle and the engine brain was fried. They wanted me to pay a $500 deductible for the engine brain. I told them I would see them in court and involve the television station. I paid for all the extra insurance... but apparently they said I was "in between" when one dropped and the other picked up. I was livid. They fixed the truck just so I could get back to NC. Once I got here I took it to Capital Chevrolet and got a new electrical brain and engine brain as both were malfunctioning. That's when I found out that the truck had been totaled before. I have had nothing but issues with this truck since the very day I bought it. DON'T BUY FROM DRIVE TIME. Eg. I saw a 2003 Honda Civic with 153k miles and they wanted about 16K for the car. Now the blue book value of that car is 5-6k. I asked a sales person why the car was so expensive and he said some BS about this lot is for people with bad credit, and the car comes with a warranty. This place I thought would be a haven for me as a first time car buyer to receive a car with no problems. I did, but I have only had the car for 10 months and I have had a negative outcome for service. The light would not work after the first 4 months of getting the car and then the alternator failed. I took it to get fixed and then the dealer explained my car had been wrecked. He showed me how the car had been glued back to the frame, but the glue residue and spray paint was peeling off. Chose them as I am re-establishing my credit ,I went online and was pre-approved for a vehicle with a pretty low down payment,I get an email telling me to bring in a paystub and my bank account statement. When I got to the bank the banker who handles my small business account tells me there is no need for them to have one bank statement -let alone 3 , she says if they do not accept the printout she gave me to just leave and not try to do business with them. I go to the dealer and , sure enough , despite a printout from the bank showing 3 large deposits and proving that I do have a small business and that it is an active account they are insisting upon 3 bank statements-why?so they can review my banking activity?I think not. Basically , this pre- approval scam of theirs is just to get you to their lot , the vehicles shown online look nothing like the meager selection I saw in their poorly kept lot. I am sure they provide a good service to those with very poor credit , however , mine is not bad enough to have to deal with their terms. Besides , I have never before met a salesperson who seemed less interested in making a sale than the man who assisted me , they were just fine whit me walking out the door . What is really funny to me though , is that we were planning on purchasing 3 vehicles before the end of the year and paying them off quickly so they lost out on quite a bit . If I could put zero stars I would I have, i had the up most worst experience I think I would ever have with car purchasing my mother and I had went up there as one of our last options so we thought but we went up there a while before closing time on a Saturday evening I had no problems then except that I got home around 10:00pm they showed us that there were no problems with the car so we thought everything was going great. the day after I had went on the highway and once I went over 3rpms my car started jerking really bad and since I was supposed take it back to get it detailed after work my mom told me to tell them about all the problems with the car. she said it was the transmission I didn't know what it was so I did after work i headed straight up there to get the vehicle detailed and apparently they left "just" before I got there so I told them everything my mother noticed was wrong with the vehicle (needed front end alignment, transmission, and other minor things) so Chrismon the male that sold me the car drove the car to the closest Midas proceeded to drop me and the car off then left while I was waiting in the lobby I was talking with their other customers and the front desk lady I found out all the cars there were from drive time and the customers were all from drivetime as well. I was a bit thrown off so when the mechanic found out the issue (the transmission was bad) they told me so I called drivetime and told them, they offered to pick me up and take me back to the store I told them my mother was coming to meet me there and they insisted on coming so after 20 minutes I called them back and asked if anyone was coming and they told me he was just pulling out of the parking lot so I brushed it off so Chrismon told me he was going to try to find us a car closest to the old one on payments then they tried to get my mom to buy a 13+ THOUSAND DOLLAR CAR because the payments were the closest then Chrismon was making it out like we couldn't get a rental car until it was fixed until we called the warranty we had on the car and they sent us to enterprise the next day when we went to go pick up the rental vehicle we had to put 50 dollars for deposit and had to pay 1.18 every day we had the car because the warranty that was supposed to cover it for us didn't cover the full amount on the smallest car they had at the enterprise they sent us to so we tried calling bridge crest (shadiest loan company with unreasonably high interest rates that's are ridiculous) to see if we could get any thing off for the hassle we have been going through with everyone BRIDGECREST, DRIVETIME, AND SILVER ROCK. they said they couldn't do anything so we were like okay whatever then they proceeded to call my mother the day after that which was Wednesday and said that she could either opt. I had an excellent experience at Drivetime. They were patient with my indecisiveness, willing to work with my stipulations, and answered every question I had to throw at them. Their leasing program is an excellent system that allows you to easily own the vehicle once the lease period is up, or swap your vehicle out/return it at any time with no charges aside from damage and mileage overages. I am very satisfied with the program and the service I received. Gather round ladies and gentlemen and listen to the tales I have to tell you about these small brained people at drive time in Raleigh, NC.. So first thing is First=they are ripoffs. Second=they have no brains in their head. Okay so we went to get a car there, they quoted it as one price on the phone and it's different with longer payments. So we had no choice but to get it.. By the time we got it home (2 hours away) the check engine light was on. So we bring that overpriced price of junk back bc drive time was telling us the warranty company would cover it and the warranty company was saying it was drivetimes responsibility and they wasn't going to touch it. So we went and got the oil changed in it bc the oil looked new but maybe something was wrong with it... The filter was hard as a rock and hadn't been changed for at least 10,000 miles. So there was no way we was keeping it. They tried to make it look pretty is all so BEWARE about that. There inspections aren't crap. So we bring it back and make them go get another vehicle from Virginia like we wanted. So we go the day after we get it and get it checked out... Transmission fluid is black and needs to be changed since it has NEVER been changed in the life of the car $200 we have to pay out of pocket. And the air filter is black and needs to be changed bc again it had NEVER been changed. We like the car so we keep it but if you don't know anything about cars, bring someone with you who does bc you will have to pay for matainence they should have done to the car before anyone purchased it. I had a newborn baby at the time and needed to get it done to make sure it would last Incase something happened and we had an emergency. They new we had a newborn when we came in to sign papers even and they SAT around with each other and bullshitted even though they said everything was ready. First time we went it took almost 5 hours. Second time we went and got the other car it took 3 hours. So very unprofessional on the phone and smartasses. So we wait until two days later (30 days now since sale) our temp plate is expired. So we call and talked to Kira and explain we haven't got the new temp plate in the mail and our perminate plate isn't here either. Kira says Loronda wasn't in and didn't come the day before (so no she didn't mail it) then tells us she can ask Loronda when she comes back, whenever that is, if it was mailed. Mind you our license is expired now and we have a six week old newborn. Great help there Kira!! So she snarky and didn't want to help at all so transfered us to a manager Cordaro (who was supposed to be the actual one to put in for the perminate license plate. He told us he would next day mail it to us a temporary license plate (it's already 2 pm so it won't be mailed out today mind you) and we asked him to look and see if the perminate has been put in for yet? And he talks to Kira and says yes. OKAY so she couldn't tell us that when we was asking her? She said she couldn't look it up when we asked her... Sounds like she exceeded the intake for her little brain. So anyway he said he would mail it to us and perminate license is already put in for. So when we got off the phone we got tired of their little Brian run around and called the DMV and asked about the tag. Apparently they have 28 days from sale date to apply for license plate and title. Our car is still in someone else's name whomever sold the car to drivetime!! So if something happens to the car they get screwed. And they lied and never applied for the perminate license plate. So DMV told us to file a LT220 and they will be investigated. So they might think they can do what they want but they are about to get a rude awakening. I strongly recommend they clean house and get ALL new people to work there who has some sense in their heads and can actually handle working with customers. I had an excellent experience with Drive Time. I got a Kia Forte EX in great condition with low 20k miles on it. They also have gap insurance, so when my husband wrecked this car they covered everything and there was quite a bit of balance left. The monthly payments were high, but that was my fault because of my low credit score so it would have been high regardless of the dealership. I recommend them to anyone with good, bad, or no credit. When all others turned me down drivetime approved me and got me in the car I wanted. As long as you keep in mind this is a used car lot you wont be dissapointed. Wish I could give this place a -50 star rating !!! Have had the car under a year , it's been in and out of the shop , ON MY DIME .. Their bogus warranty covers NOTHING , not to mention their customer service is horrible! When I asked if I could just bring the car back , due to all the extra expenses/mechanical issues, ON TOP OF THE OVERPRICED PAYMENT ($400 for a 2008 , I had a 2014 Jeep for $500 and that was with no money down smh) , and they said they'd still put it as a repossession on my credit .. Will be finding a lawyer to look into the Lemon Law !! read more
