I highly recommend asking for Bob if you plan to shop here. He is very personable and knowledgable about the cars in stock. From the first test drive, to finally driving it off the lot as my own, Bob helped make it an easy process. He cleaned up the car inside and out, put the rag top back on, and filled up the gas tank on my request and had it ready to go for when I drove 2 hours to buy it. Had all the paper work neatly organized and highlighted for where I needed to sign. And he also helped expedite getting my plates since I was moving across country the same week I bought it. All around epic experience!

They were selling it at a fair price, so I decided to take the car in to get a prepurchase inspection that Tuesday. I told the owner I would be returning the following Saturday with my husband for him to look at the car, and ultimately give the go ahead to purchase it that day. I had been in contact with Bob the whole time and felt like I was transparent with my intentions. (I mean, no one pays for a prepurchase inspection if they're not genuinely interested) Anyways, I get a text message on the Friday, one day before I go in with my husband to purchase the car, saying that he sold the car to somebody else. No heads up, no warning, nothing! Just a text saying, hey the car's been sold. Such a huge waste of time and money!

The car itself was a special edition, which was not listed on cars.com, the site that led us to this dealership. That wasn't too big a deal.. until we noticed interior spray paint damage that was also not noted... Just starting to get weird. We still wanted to purchase this vehicle, as it wasn't too hard a fix. We'd arrived around 5pm, and it took nearly two hours to be seen, to complete said paperwork. It was at this point things really went to s***. By the time we were seen the office was closing. An employee entered our income information incorrectly, significantly lower than it is.. which nullified the previous qualification. Once we'd realized the issue, we were told it'd be corrected within a few hours and we'd hear back soon to move forward with down payment etc. We NEVER HEARD BACK. Multiple emails, calls... nothing. I had a friend call since the calls from my number were getting ignored, and he told them that he'd emailed us back, that we'd have to sell one of our other cars (????) to make a purchase with them. Just a lot of random very incorrect info. This has been incredibly frustrating, and so much unnecessary back and forth. If you want honesty, transparency, and a smooth transaction, AVOID THIS DEALER.

Not a long-term car, just a good first beater, and I was happy to pay the advertised price for it. Cash buyer, aiming for a simple deal around $4,000 out the door. Asked about wiggle room. Salesman said he'd "knock off $1,000." I figured he misspoke and meant $100 or so, since a grand off a sub-$4,000 car was never realistic, and I was right to be skeptical: the price only dropped to $3,900, about $88 off. Then came a $998 "Murphy's Law Protection Package" that's pre-installed so you can't refuse it, plus an $899 doc fee. Out-the-door quote: about $5,100. Real NC title and tax on that car is around $200. A thousand-dollar package and a near-$900 fee on a 200,000-mile car is the part that didn't add up. The kicker: their own ad slide lists "Up Front Pricing" as the first thing they promise, on the same image that discloses the $998 add-on that isn't in the sticker price. I called back to confirm and they stood by the $5,100 and the $899 doc fee. Get the full itemized out-the-door number in writing before you go. The advertised price is not the price.

Within 5 months, the car needs a whole new engine (over $7,000). We got two estimates (one from the manufacturer). When I called to inform them of the issue, the manager, Dan was rudest person I've ever encountered. I tried to remain very professional, but he intentionally escalated the situation, basically calling by mom dumb! Now they're stuck with $17k worth of car payments for a car they cannot drive. He then suggested they trade the car in with them and start over. Are you serious??!! These people are the worst and please take it from me....DO NOT BUY from them!!

The check engine light came on the very next day, and within a week, I was facing a $2,500 repair bill. I've only had the car for two weeks. I trusted the owner and explained that I needed a reliable vehicle for my son since our current one already had issues. He reassured me that this was a good, dependable car -- but now I'm left with two vehicles that both have problems. I've tried reaching out and even went by the shop to get a resolution, but haven't received any help or response.

Owner agreed to pay part which was only $50 that I still haven't received. These ppl don't stand by their word and didn't care that the car needed major repairs. The engine light is on now because the catalytic converter is shot. So much for customer service. WARNING. DO NOT SHOP HERE. They ripped me off big time and will not make good on their word.

We bought a 2008 Jeep Wrangler from these folks and have had nothing but trouble ever since. We paid $17,500 to them on a Sunday night for the Jeep, drove it an hour down the road to a hotel, got up the next morning and it had all kinds of warning lights on. I called them and they said "hey you bought it as is and you didn't buy the 499 dollar 90 day warranty". They put it in the contract that they would pay to have the seat fixed and the heater control replaced. They finally said they would buy the parts for the other stuff that needed fixed but we would have to pay for it to be repaired. We took it to a local shop (we live 5 hours away) that they picked, that shop gave them and me the estimate for repairs. Adam didn't want to pay for new parts so he said he would get a used seat and have it shipped out. One month and two days after we left their lot, they sent their driver over with a seat. It was loaded down with stains and was nasty. Adam said the shop would just swap out the internal parts. Our appointment for the shop is Monday morning, I just sat down on the seat to check it, it doesn't work either so I called, they told me they would talk to Adam and get back with me Monday morning, you know, when it's supposed to be in the shop. We paid these people a lot of money for this vehicle and they are doing everything they can to not stand behind their product. If they will conduct business this way with the National Directors of a public charity how do you think they'll treat you. I absolutely cannot recommend any person on a fixed budget to do any business with Auto Depot of Raleigh.
