I'm a fairly experienced computer user. I have normally built my own computers from scratch and done my own upgrades and repairs. Now when my very first store-bought computer died out of warranty I diagnosed it as being something that wasn't simple or easy to fix. After extensively studying the reviews for many different companies on Yelp I saw that they had many 5-star reviews and I decided that Drop Zone sounded like the best place for finding what was wrong with my computer. Drop Zone diagnosed and repaired my computer quickly and efficiently (motherboard replacement) and got me back up and running fast. Very friendly, very knowledgeable, very good people. They are incredibly patient and explain everything they are doing and give you all the options; I was impressed by that. I feel that the were looking out for my best interests. Having retired from the retail business it is seldom that I give a five star rating. But Jeff at drop zone deserves six stars. Computer repair is a business that many of us old timers know very little about and can be taken advantage of very easily. Our laptop had a massive heart attack and needed a new hard drive! I was quoted $99 for the new part. When we stopped by to pickup the repaired computer, Jeff explained that the part they received was smaller in the GB and therefore was less money than quoted!! I had a MSI GT70 Dominator - 895 Laptop that was accidently damaged. I told Steve at Drop Zone about it and he told me to bring it in. I recently asked Steve and Jeff to build me a new machine. They built me one 10 years ago that would still be considered super fast today. But, I want to upgrade some components and decided to just go with an all new machine. As they did 10 years ago they built me a super fast machine. I am so very pleased. Not only do they know what they are doing technically they are also extremely customer focused. Very seldom do you find both of these traits in a person, however they both have strong technical and interpersonal skills. I have patronized this business for over a year purchasing 2 lap-top computers and 1 desk-top PC. All were "reconditioned" and extremely affordable compared to new units offered by Best Buy or other computer retailers. In each case, the computers functioned flawlessly and came pre-installed with current and appropriate software (hence saving me from having to re-purchase this software from Microsoft). Need help with your computer? Well, this is the place to go. They recommended and installed a gaming graphics card and new power supply for my grandsons computer. Even thought it was at Christmas time, they did the job in one day. They explained how to connect the monitors and gave us an adapter that we might need. The best! I had 2 systems built by Drop Zone, one in 2010 and the other in 2015. Both are still going strong. I am a professional video producer and these systems serve me well. Dropped by the Drop Zone computer company half an hour before close on a Sunday with a laptop that had somehow manage to open itself up revealing its innards! The owner very kindly took an immediate look at it and after looking as dismayed as we were, flipped it over and found where a screw had fallen out (nice job Dell). He was able to find a matching screw and quickly closed up the laptop and handed it back to my, by now, very stressed out teenager. The owner was kind enough not to charge us for the quick repair and I promised we would be back! Very happy with the experience, have felt very ripped off by other computer repairs particularly the one by 7-11 on Folsom Auburn where we have been charged just to be told the device was shot. Absolutely incredible customer service from Drop Zone! My computer kept shutting off, I'm somewhat tech-savvy so I had suspected it was due to an issue with the main fan for the processor and I was dreading the prognosis (let alone the possibility of losing all of my data ) So, I called Drop Zone at noon, dropped my computer off at 4pm, they had diagnosed AND FIXED the issue by 545p SAME DAY SERVICE!!!! Turns out a small piece of metal (from interior case clips) had become loose and lodged into the fan preventing it from spinning. I was only charged my deposit for diagnosing AND they taped the metal pieces to my receipt (very thorough). They even cleaned the inside and outside of my laptop while they had it apart. They were extremely professional and genuinely focused on consumer satisfaction. I highly recommend that you visit Drop Zone (even if only for diagnosis) before you assume your computer is beyond repair.
